  1. I would. Especially if you've been out of the US for some time, you need to be able to show the officer the concrete steps (lease/documentation of living arrangements, job offer letter, voter's registration, etc.) that support your claim that you will be re-establishing domicile.

I did include such a letter in my AOS package since my situation is similar to yours, but I plan to bring more evidence with me to the interview.

Maybe we'll cross paths at the embassy! :)

    Hi TM713,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Yes, I agree. I think it is better prepared enough than regretting later.

Since we don't know exactly where we are going to settle down in the U.S. yet (dépends on our jobs), we don't have any lease contract or anything like that.

    What I am thinking about bringing at the interviews are;

-U.S. bank account statements with my U.S. address

-Voter's registration (I have just received the absentee balloting material for the November election so I will make photocopies)

-A letter with my US address from my US credit card that shows how long I have my US credit card for.

-US IRA account statement with my US address

-US investment account statement with my US address

-Estimate from a shipping company for the costs to ship belongings

-Estimate for selling price of our house from a real estate company (as we are planning on selling our house in France once we are ready to move to the U.S.)

-Emails from some companies that I had interviews with. (although I have not got a job yet but I believe that I can say that I am seriously looking)

Yup, we both got our CCs at almost the same timing, we may cross each other at the embassy. Good luck to you, too :)

  2. While we are waiting for the interviews to be scheduled, I have a question for the interview at the Embassy.

I am U.S. Citizen sponsoring my husband but we both live in Europe.

According to the VISA guidance that Sylin has kindly provided, people who live outside U.S. needs to provide proof of US domicile. When I sent the AOS package, I did not include any letter to explain my situation for "domicile", although all my U.S. bank account statements that I provided in the AOS package, have my U.S. address on them. Our AOS was approved without providing the cover letter to explain how I re-establish domicile in the U.S.

For the interview in the near future (I believe!) at the embassy, do I still need to prepare a letter to explain that I am taking some steps to re-establish my domicile?

  3. Hi alaskabound,

Thanks for the updates. Yes, until somebody says "I got my interview schedule" here, I am not 100% convinced by whatever NVC says.

We will just wait to see what happens..

Well, the good news...."yes m'am we have started scheduling"...ha. I will believe that when someone/anyone ever announces they have an interview.

The bad news: "no m'am you did not get an OCTOBER interview"... Thanks. NVC. You prove to be eternally helpful. What about the NOVEMBER interviews?! Not for me yet anyway.

  4. I finally got the DHL tracking figured out. Try the example that I have listed below under 9/29. Then select your country. I have seen packages arrive in the UK but there is no way of knowing if it's my paperwork or not :(

    EXAMPLE:

    * Shipper´s Reference : EXP 25 sep 2014A

    * Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 09 - 2014

    * Date range for shipment - To: 29 - 09 - 2014

Account Number - Leave this blank

    Shipment Destination: United Kingdom

    9/29 -
    EXP 22 sep 2014A
    EXP 23 sep 2014A

    EXP 24 sep 2014A

    EXP 25 sep 2014A

    EXP 26 sep 2014A

I also did for EXP xx Sep 2014B and there're actually some shipped.

  5. Hey Guys,

I have just talked with a lady named Jean at NVC and she told me that the inteviews are being scheduled this week and the next week.

But she does not know if we (Our CC was on Sept. 15th) will get the November interview. It dépends on the capacity of each embassy.

She told me to call back in Mid October if we don't hear anything.

So anyway, it looks like they are starting scheduling the inteviews this week and next week (two weeks, she said) so some of you ( I hope all of us who already got CCs here) wil get the interviews scheduled sometime over the next two weeks.

    FIngers crossed

  6. I don't think anyone has called NVC after 1pm (EST). :star:

Have you called NVC today since you sound like you can really use good news tonight?

I wouldn't mind some good news tonight. Has anyone called today after 1pm eastern?

I thought about calling today but I didn't after seeing the posts from people here.

It is already late in Europe and I don't have energy to call.

    I will try tomorrow.

Good Night and hope we will hear lots of :goofy::goofy: :goofy: tomorrow!

  7. Congratulations! Nice to hear that your interview went well.

Hope you will have a great life together with your husband in the U.S. very soon (F)

    Hi to you all,

We had our interview this morning, it was really a very lovely one, everything went smoothly right from the security up to the second floor where we had our document checked, but the woman checking our document told us that they could not locate our original marriage certificate, she tried to search but still couldnt find it. so she told us to sit down and wait till we hear our number, our number was K004, in less than 10 minutes we were called to Room 24, the woman was very lovely, kind with lot of smiles on her face, she pretty asked many questions regarding how many times we have met? our skype chat .. she even pointed out to some few places where we argued due to my husband not here and me getting mad because of this distance, she asked my husband how did we resolve it. she asked on how he proposed to me, she asked about questions regarding our two joint sponsors, she asked what did we do when we first met, my husband explained everything and what got her attention was about the food and so on,it was all like we are chatting, we were all laughing and it was a good four minutes full of everything. After that, she brought a form which says 221 g and she told us that they are sorry because they misplaced our original marriage certificate, she marked marriage certificate on the 221G , and she told us to go immediately to ZAGS and get another copy then she said we should give the marriage certificate to Pony express for them to deliver it to them. before we left the place.. i asked please ma are we approved, she said yeah but we need your original marriage certificate before we can issue your visa. she didn't give us my husband birth certificate back, she said once they receive the marriage certificate, everything will be sent back to us. So she collected the passport and give us her personal email, she told us to email her once we have sent it by pony express. we thanked her and left. it was really a very loving day. We spent 1hr 25 minutes in total at the embassy but the interview only lasted 4 minutes. tomorrow we will go to ZAGC to collect another marriage certificate and send it off on friday by God grace, I just cant wait for me to travel back with my husband. Today is a happy day for us

  8. Sorry your dwheelness. :(

Spoke to Reese and what a B she is said I DO NOT HAVE A CASE COMPLETE that it's under Supervisor Review to get it complete and can take up to 30 days to get this done. But she didn't think it would take that long.

I called again right away and spoke to Torry nicer but of no help and said the same your case is not Case Complete and it's in the hands of a Supervisor asked if I could talk to them the obvious NO we are not in the same department and they don't take calls.

This is why I hesitated to post I had CC, I just can't believe thing they say. :(

    Hi Soloenta,

I am so sorry to hear that. You must be confused and devestated.. I can feel your pain. (even though we have not met in person)

Since it is under Supervisor Review, I believe that means it just a matter of time.

I think you have done everything you had to do now so just be patient. We are with you (F)

  9. While I was writing the previous message. I have received a confirmation mail re: CC

Our CC was on Sept 15th so it was exactly one week after CC. (I was expecting this as I had read all the comments here before :dancing: )

    22-SEP-14

    Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

    Sincerely,

    Director

    National Visa Center

    Hello All,

I have just got off the phone with NVC. The lady told me (didn't catch her name) that our documents are still at NVC (our CC was on Sept. 15th) and they have not scheduled the interview yet. She says that she doesn't know when the interview's going to be scheduled. The documents will be sent to the embassy after the interview is being scheduled.

I should be receiving the confirmation mail re: CC very soon.

So I thought I would like to share this info with you as some of you may have similar timeline as we do.

    Hanging there! :goofy:

P.S. I am glad that I found this site. (F) I love people helping each other and I wish all the administrators/officers were like you guys..

  11. Correct hasn't left NVC. That package on the 17th arrived at embasy then. Usually the NVC sjhips out fridays and mondays.

When you call and they tell you the date your petition left it usually is 3 days before its logged in (You notice how Boston is the leav poit). So monday you would put the friday date and se what comes up.

Ok, I am a little bit disappointed that the our documents have not left yet.. but thanks for your info.

I will check on Monday. I hope to hear a good news soon..

  12. That was the DHL packages going out from NVC to the embassy. This is what people are talking about when they say In-Transit.

If you got to the 1st post there is instructions on how to track

Wow, that's quite amazing. Thank you so much!

I hope the one sent to Paris is ours. Our CC was on Sept. 15th. I haven't checked with NVC yet, though.

Anyway, I am glad that things are moving forward... after long long months of waiting..

  13. Sorry you might have explained already but I would like to know what your message means.

    Could you please briefly explain?

    Thanks,
