as of today, among 17251's 206 cases,
3 cases as name was updated;
2 case as card is being produced;
2 case as RAF;
1 case as card was mailed to me
So, I still didnt get clarity (Ive asked this before), the next update before card is being produced should be the name change status??

EAC1724400006
EAC1724400008
EAC1724400020
EAC1724400054
The first on on ur list has been approved yesterday!!! The others have as status "Name has been updated"...is that the next update to show before card being produced??

I don’t think this is accurate. Mine is EAC17201xxxx it could show the year, but that’s it. If the other numbers showed the month then I would have an approval by now. I’m supposed to get it by July 5th, 2018. The # they assigned is not related to the type of form filed, but the time they receive the app. The # before yours isn’t necessarily an I751 form. It could be something totally different.
I see makes sense...thank you for your prompt response!

Is it true that the case number gives us an idea on the order/date they are working on? Someone said EAC17 means the year filed and the following 3 numbers will be date working on??? The last approved I've seen was number EAC17-224 and I'm 250...anyone approved from June wanna provide their numbers to compare and see if valid theory?

Wow yeah! For sure what you guys are experiencing is on a whole other level and for that I'm sorry :/ We are called the "United States" but sometimes living in one state vs another can feel like a different country! Over here in the DC area there is a lot more diversity which is a plus. The only struggle we have is my husband works in an office in which he is the only minority. Most men here have a very different definition of fun (drinking/women) than my husband does. In his country its so different. Men can go get coffee with friends and catch up just talk and have a good time Over here I feel friendships are more superficial... therefore my initiative to get those in the area to meet

Hello!
Some of you may already know that I am trying to get a group of us in the D.C/Maryland area to get together. My husband is Egyptian and I would love for him to interact with others that have moved here from the middle east Lets face the facts, sometimes Americans can be difficult to befriend with such cultural differences and values... I think we have this awesome online community of ppl going through the same things we should take advantage of! So if you are reading this and are interested let me know.

most Egyptian males have additional background checks done after the interview day. This is another facet of 'administrative processing'.
Yes, there's a queue on this, hence the wait, as yer waiting yer place in the queue.
Also, there are lots of topics about this in the MENA forum. Take a look, when able, read through the hundreds of topics from the last 2 years.
Sorry..
Thank you Darnell for ur response.
The whole being in queue thing does make sense but I really would hope that there is some sort of order to that said queue. Like I've mentioned some interviewed in July and had issued within a week. My husband's full name isn't even that common....
p.s I just found the MENA forum after I posted my thread. Exactly what I was looking for thanks

After my husband's interview we had a document to send.Sent it within 2 to 3 weeks My husband was on AP almost 9 months.It depends it could be right away or take months to get it.They will call you.
Thanks for ur response. I know that for those of us who have had something requested from us can expect a long processing time but my surprise is with those who have nothing holding them back or delaying them STILL waiting for so long! I don't think that they are within "normal processing time" waiting over 2 months after an interview with everything "ready".

Hoping someone can shed some light for you as my husband's interview will be at the Cairo Embassy as well. We just started NVC processing and I thought that was bad enough but then to hear about your troubles makes this already daunting process seem worse. I thought after NVC it was relatively smooth sailing; I remember when you got approved as I try to keep track of fellow Egyptian timelines, interviews, etc...I'm sorry to see you are still waiting for the visa. Inshallah, you will receive it soon. Please keep us posted if anything changes.
Thank you! I need some light shed at this point this process can be exhausting as u might imagine, I too thought it would all end after the interview.
I don't want you to worry though! I'm sure that by the time ur case reaches the embassy this issue will be resolved. I actually think this issue only affected those that interviewed after the computer glitch in June because some interviewees from July had their visas issued within a week!
Thank you for the encouragement Good luck on ur visa journeeeyyy

I am aware of several people at our embassy who have had their CEAC status stuck in ready for months now. People with approval letters in hand and ready status for 2 months today! Is this normal???? I feel completely stuck and I need answers.
We all interviewed in June and still nothing. We rarely get email responses from the embassy and when we do they are the most vague, copy&pasted answers ever!
Does anyone have any ideas as to what the embassy could be waiting for? From a separate agency maybe? Is this normal? Shouldn't ready mean just that??

Take the original certificate ( Arabic copy) that's all you need. translation is not required, my interview was last june and they didn't ask for any translation for my military but they diffidently ask for the original Arabic certificate.
Good Luck!
-
Honey you are most welcome
My husband checked out ur link and found a lot of insight so THANKS
If I may ask when was ur last update on CEAC and did they keep his passport at the interview?
Constant updates on that site are promising. We are so looking forward to getting our status READY --> AP --> and finally ISSUED!!!!!
God bless!!

Hey! I'm sorry for all the tough things ur going through but have hope! Don't get discouraged by the stories of people spending 5 years in AP.
We got a 221g also around 40 days ago and yes the time is very variable. Looking back at other people on this forum the longest time I have EVER seen for Cairo recently is 9 months and some people are less than one month but I have found the average to be around 2months...
The embassy took 2 weeks after mailing in our docs to simply confirm receiving them (before then with a day they answered my email saying my case is pending receipt of the docs) so 2 weeks wasted. I wish there was something we could do but I haven't come upon anything Just gotta wait it out sadly
Good luck and isa it will end soon!

The I-551 is a green card. It doesn't make sense that you stated he has a green card and then be concern that the Egyptian authority would not let him on the plane for lack of a green card. How do you know that they wouldn't care about the I-551 stamp? Your post does not make sense.
I already know that the stamp validates it as a green card but the 2 year official green card she is still waiting for in the mail. What I'm guessing u don't understand is the way my country works. Their word is law and I'm just advising her to be careful, they might not know about the technicalities of the stamp and only accept one of the 3 items mentioned above. I just wouldn't risk it without checking with them first.
-
here is the thing, i believe that leaving and returning to the us is not a problem as long as your husband got the stamp of I-551 which allows the visa to work as a green card for a year, but what you should really look into if the Egyptian authority will let your husband board the plane to get back to the states without a green card or a US passport because that's all they care about they won't care about the validity of any stamps or how the whole green card stamp works, all they want to see is one of three things ( valid visa- american passport- valid green card). so don't forget about that side of the story make sure your husband can leave Egypt again, not only reenter the states.
Good luck!
