  1. Today I received my GC. Thank you so much to everyone who has been with me through this journey, through my K1, then AOS and now ROC which has taken the longest! Now on to Citizenship which I plan to apply for next year. I am a bit done with paperwork at the moment and I am

not sure what all I need for it, so I would rather not deal with it now! VJ has been amazing and I am sure I will be using it again very soon for the next step :)

  2. Hi guys,

I filed for the ROC in November too, and my conditional green card has been expired for a while. Have done biometrics and now just waiting. I don’t have anything else that I see some people talking about. Stamp etc? What is that for? Should I have filed for something else?

I have a valid drivers license which is how I’ve been getting around using it as my ID. And I also have the uscis letter accepting my ROC application and starting the process. Is that enough? Should I have applied for anything else?

    thanks :)

  3. Hi everyone,

I filed for my ROC at the end of October and already had my biometrics mid november. I have been kind of out of it for a while (I need to get caught up on my paperwork, house is a mess etc), but I don’t really remember getting a stamp at my biometrics appointment. The officer stamped my biometrics letter after she was done, but that is all I have. If I need to travel, how can I go about it?

ive seen people here mention a letter and also a stamp. Would the letter be my NOA letter saying they received my ROC case? And would the stamp be the biometrics one?

i also saw someone saying something about infopass but, again, could not find anything about that. Not even sure what that is LOL

i would appreciate if anyone could point me to a thread or two about it. Thanks so much!

  4. Congratulations to you! Did you have an interview or was it waived?

I got a notice of potential interview waive back in September and then at the end of October a RFE for a new medical (although my K1 medical was submitted 100% completed and would only expire in January). Hope this means that good news are coming for everyone else!

My status remains unchanged but I'll post here when I get any other notices or the card.

  5. Did you received a confirmation from uscis once you mailed your rfe back ? I got my rfe October 21st and mailed back last week on Tuesday and have not heard anything from them :(

NOPE no response, no change of status no nothing. But I had to send it directly to someone over at USCIS as the letter directed so maybe that is a sign they will get on top of it. I read that your post office receipt with a tracking number is enough to "challenge" them if it comes to it.

  6. Just an update to say I just got a push notification on my phone just now (I have the "Case Tracker" app) saying that my case was approved - I am cautiously optimistic because I got a NPIW back in September and at the end of October I got a RFE for a new medical (but my K1 medical was complete and would only expire in January). I still went ahead and did it and mailed them on November 5th. This seems too good to be true. Pasting the notice below...

On November 13, 2015, we approved your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

I am adjusting from K1, filed back in May, got NPIW September 14, a RFE for a new medical October 20 (my medical would only expire at the end of January and it was complete with all vaccines etc and everything in English), mailed back the RFE with new medical packet on November 5th.

Does that mean I am approved? It sounds stupid but after everything it seems a little too good to be true LOL Here is the notice...

  8. Just got my Notice of Potential Interview Waiver letter today unfortunately... SIGH... My medical expires in January. I'm fairly certain they will send a RFE around then asking for it again. Another $400 or so spent for no reason. Great...

Back info - letter date says September 9th. My online status remains unchanged (it says fingerprint fee received). I'm adjusting from K1. By the way, I moved to a new house last month and changed our address online but still receiving at the old address (my in laws), I am 5 minutes away so it didn't matter, but thought I would tell my experience.

    Good luck all!

  9. No update on approval or card production either ?

No I did not get ANY updates or notices for the card production or the EAD accepted.

The only notices I got on text and email was for when they took our AOS packet. I did have an e-notification form there but they did not use it for the EAD apparently. But, it's fine, got the card, don't care :-) Now the wait for the interview continues!

  10. Hello all!

I am a May filer as well, I did not file for AP but today I got a NOA for my EAD (dated July 21st). It is just a piece of paper, from reading this thread I think I should get a card soon too?

I have been having a hard time here in Louisiana applying for a state ID at the DMV. They will not let me issue one without a document with any sort of expiration date, is what they say. I have my passport with my maiden name but nope. Last time I went, the lady said that if I get an EAD card or document of some sort with an expiration date, she would be able to issue the state ID. Has anyone else dealt with this? Do you all have state IDs or not?

I guess I could go to my consulate and get started on making our marriage official in my home country and then applying for a new Passport, but my Passport is super new and I would hate to go through MORE forms and fees. Not to mention it is about 6h drive away each way... Bleh!
