  1. I finally have an update!

A couple of weeks ago, I was able to get in touch with a tier 2 rep about the letter I received. The letter stated that my permanent resident status had been terminated because I failed to file my i751. But I did file it. Anyway, apparently it was sent in error... 😑

Thankfully, as of August 12th, my new card is being produced!!! 😊

This whole process has been an emotional roller coaster for sure 😰

I went to get the Biometric done last Thursday 7/18/2019. My status on the newer website has been update to... "Fingerprint Review Was Completed"

Hopefully things will move smooth after this point.

Congrats! I got my Biometrics done last Friday 7/19/2019 and my status says the same thing! Hoping the process speeds up from here!

In other news, I received a letter in the mail stating that my conditional resident status was terminated as of 2/18/2018 because I didn’t file my i751...

But I DID file it, and it was within the 90 day window. Also, I received my biometrics appointment letter and just completed it on 7/19. I called customer service and when I finally got through and gave all of my information, I was told that they would usually escalate my call to someone higher up, but because all of them were busy I would need to call back another time. 😕

Should I be worried??? I’m definitely confused and annoyed. Ughhhh.

I just called the customer service this morning and asked about my case status. As I expected, it's all the same answers. My case is still in the process, case status has shown in error on the website is common to any applicants ( don't know why they don't fix), No typo on the case numbers or current address, No biometric. and so on. Nothing has changed yet.

They sent the request for the biometric notification, so within 15 days, I will find out why I haven't received yet. We need to call the customer service and make an appointment for the InfoPass 30 days prior to the 18 extension letter expiration date if we don't get approvals by then.

I hope you and other applicants who have the same situation like me will get the result ASAP.

Thanks for the update! I really appreciate it. I’ve been getting more and more worried the closer we get to the extension letter expiration date. Hoping the process goes quickly and smoothly for all of us!

  4. Hey everyone!

I filed my i751 2/18 and I have yet to hear anything at all. No biometrics, no transfer or anything. I’ve been logging on to see my case status and all it says is that my application was recived. Should I contact USCIS? If yes, then who should I call?

I’m trying not to become overly anxious, but August is coming up and my extension letter will expire.

  5. @starsky

Welcome fellow Texas filer! We're happy to have you here. I've added you to our tracking table, see below. Surprising you haven't received any further information on your case yet, have you tracked it in both USCIS portals? Contacted a tier 2 via phone support?

    ——————————

Hey! So I checked the USCIS website but all it’s saying is...

“At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the USCIS...”

What other portal should I look into? And I guess the next step would be for me to give them a call.

  6. Oh dear. We do are in the same boat. Am not sure, maybe it would be better to call them regarding the I485 and EAD receipt number. Although when I called them before, I also asked if I should make another service request for the EAD and AP as well, and they told me that when they send out Biometrics it's for both.

I just checked my USCIS and still it it says that my second service request still hasn't been assigned for processing. But both my AP and EAD had been approved last Monday.

Oh wow! That's amazing. I can only hope and pray that the same thing happens for me. Also, I just checked the status on my service request for the EAD and it was completed this morning. I guess I just have to wait and see the results in the mail.

  7. Hi Pishi Pishi, I just checked your timeline. My USCIS Case Status is the same as yours - "Fingerprint fee was received..". But unfortunately, unlike you guys, I still haven't received my Biometrics Appointment letter. This is after 64 days that the USCIS NBC has received my application, as dated in my NOA. At least you have done biometrics, so it means that your case is being processed. I will have to go and call for a second service request on Monday. As the 30th day after I have called for a service request will be tomorrow Saturday - no office. :( San Fernando Valley USCIS is giving me a headache with the runaround as to why I haven't received my Biometrics. I have had no RFE's so far. Plus my DS3025 is going to expire next week Oct 09. Which I find funny, everybody keeps saying that it expires 1 year, why is it that our medical from K1 from London expires 6 months after? Anyways, good luck to us in this perennial waiting game.

    Hey bonzaigirl!

It looks like I'm in the same boat as you and Pishi Pishi. My paperwork was received on July 28th and I still have not gotten my biometrics appointment letter in the mail. I called the first time after 30 days and a service request was done for me. I used my I-485 receipt number. Does that matter?

Anyway, I got a letter in the mail (in reply to my service request) a few days later pretty much telling me to continue to wait. So I waited and then called again near the end of September. I spoke to a Tier 2 agent (I believe) and she told me to call back if I had not received anything in the mail by October 4. So I called this morning and spoke with a lady who asked me to read the service request letter to her. Then she told me to wait (I was vexed). I called again a few minutes later and spoke with a nicer lady. This time I used my I-765 receipt number and she placed a service request for me. Should I have done that? Or used my I-485 number again?

Idk what else to do besides wait! But I'm nervous that my paperwork may have been lost or that something may be wrong with it. And I completely forgot that my medical will expire in Feb/March. Ughhhhh.

  8. There isn't any risk really just a loss of time - if you live far away it could be a whole day. (I lived 10 mins away) The appointment is very informal.

When I did it they made me wait until people with appointments went; however, I had the letter.

When you walk in they match the ID to the name on the letter and scan the 3 barcodes. I am really not sure if they can (or are willing) do a lookup without without the bar codes. Regardless, I would defiantly do a walk in the day after you get the letter.

    Thank you!!

  9. Well, you can still lodge a service request once your EAD hits 75 days. But it really sucks since everyone else is getting theirs in 60-65 days - hopefully you can sort this out ASAP.

You could try to do a walk in with just your AOS and EAD NOA1's. Walk in's are easy - but I think they need to scan the bar code on the letter to pull your file...

Thanks for the ideas! Are there any risks to doing a walk-in? What's the worst that could happen?

  10. Yes, you should have have received it a few weeks after you filed. Your EAD can not be approved without the Bio metrics.

I'm currently waiting to speak to an Immigration Services Officer. Before this, I was on the phone with a USCIS Customer Service Representative and I was basically told to keep waiting because there is up to a 1 year wait to get an approval on the I-485 (which I understand) but I'm just worried about my biometrics appointment so that my EAD/AP combo card can be processed. Needless to say, it was a frustrating conversation.

After speaking with the Immigration Officer, I was told that my biometrics appointment has not yet been sent in the mail and that it has not even been scheduled by my local office (Dallas) as of yet. The Officer told me that if I have not received the biometrics appointment letter in the mail within another 30 days, that I should call them again. I'm really trying to be patient but this is incredibly hard. I would love to start working and get my drivers license. I know that all I can do is wait, but I am not happy.

  11. Hey guys!

I'm wondering if anyone here can help me out with some info.

I filed my AOS paperwork - receipt date on NOA is July 30th (for I-485).

From what I'm seeing it looks like it takes 1 to maybe 2 weeks for some people to receive their biometrics appointment letter. I have not yet received one.

I called after 30 days to see what was going on. After answering some questions, I was told that within 15 days I would have an answer to my inquiry.

Yesterday, I received a letter saying,

"... we researched the status of your case. Our records indicate that we are actively processing your application. However, we have to perform an additional review on this case. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made...."

I'm worried that the biometrics letter may have gotten lost in the mail or something. Any ideas on what I can do? I'm in the Dallas, TX area. Are the wait times here longer??

    Many Thanks,

    Cat

  12. Hello Everyone!

I havent' been on VJ in a little while. Collecting all of the paperwork for the US Counsulate kept me pretty busy and anxious. I'm finally able to report that I have an interview date - April 7!!

It's bitter sweet becuase our original wedding date was supposed to be April 2nd (our 5th year anniversary). But either way, at least we'll get to be together soon. We've successfully changed the wedding date and now all that's left to do is wait for the interview and (prayerfully) the visa. I also have to pack all of my things and book my flight. As soon as I get the visa I'll be on my way to him!

Stay encouraged everyone! It's soo good to see lots of cases moving along. We're all almost there :)

  13. That's the standard verbiage - does not apply to K1s. Look at the details for your consulate/embassy - that is what you go by.

    Thank you!!

i think it is different for every consulate... for example, my case is "Ready" but i known from other cases that i'm not able to pay and apply to schedule an interview until the Embassy in Bogotá send me (the beneficiary) the instructions to follow... during the NVC Case Status changes it says things like that but i think are more general and it is better if you try to find the right information for your specific embassy in the "Portals" section at VisaJourney.

    Good Luck.

    Thank you :)

  14. Hey everyone, quick question. My fiance just started working in a new city after our paper work was sent in. His parents signed the affidavit of support as co-sponsers (way before the NOA 2 so the info reflects the finances from 2013) but now he has a new job and we no longer need co-sponsors. Does my i-134 need to reflect the information from the new job? Or should I keep the old paperwork?
