There will be zero problems with you using your maiden name after married in the USA, that isn't where there are expectations.
Ok thank u again for ur info hank, have a good day/night. Happy new year in advance??
-
Yes hank my husband applied using my maiden name, but we have a document/proof that we are married, and there's no problem when my husband start the petition.
-
The Philippines is all about tradition, you not using your married name totally puts your world in turmoil, once married they are looking for the married name.
Is your visa petition in your maiden name?
-
Ok thanks hank, anyways about the nbi clearance I'm still using my last name not my married name but in the clearance it indicates my married status and husbands surname, it will be fine?
-
I only have his 2011,2012 and 2013 1040s, embassy will allow it? Bc he said the 2014 is not yet available
-
Do you have an original I-864 completed with your husband's signature? W-2?
W-2 I don't have it, it will be ok if my husband just send it to me via email then I'll print?
-
I'm still using my single name but in my status it says married and have my husbands surname, u think I will have a problem with that? I didn't change my last name yet
-
You being married need to have the NBI in your married name with an AKA for your maiden name. And any other names that you have used, as stated in the embassy instructions letter.
The NBI needs to be for TRAVEL ABROAD, as stated in the embassy instructions letter. (green version)
-
You need more than that, read the embassy instructions letter. Along with the tax return you need an I-864 from your husband, signed original (doesn't matter that you submitted this to NVC already), item #5 in the instructions.
Yes I have the tax return the form 1040?
-
Hi what is the common problem with the nbi bc some if having the 221g? What is about with A.k.a? And the record file what type of file on the nbi does the embassy want?
Hope anyone can answer?
-
It's the ds-260 hank the manila embassy emailed us about the documents needed to bring, need the birth cert.,marriage cert., nbi, but I will bring also my husbands tax income and the cemar and photos just incase☺️

Yes I believe it is the DS-260.
Start a topic about the DS-260 so other CR-1s can help.

Ok thank u hank
-
What form is that?
I think it's the ds-260 form or ds-230? Cr1 is ds-260 right?
-
Ok I understand, when I went to NSO last week they give me cemar which indicates i am married with my hubby when and where, I am just concerned about the IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1 & 2
-
This I am not sure of as I have never personally dealt with either in the Philippines, but I do believe they are different.
Here is what I do know; the embassy wants a CENOMAR, if married NSO issues a CEMAR, and that is what the embassy wants. You go to NSO you request a CENOMAR and NSO issues a CEMAR (CR-5 if memory serves) you bring that to your interview and the embassy is happy. You don't bring the CENOMAR/CEMAR and you will get a 221g requesting it, which will lead to weeks more of delay/waiting.
-
The marriage certificate and CEMAR is different right?
Ok I won't bring my old CENOMAR if that so?
