  1. Ok. I got a notice after filling that same form (e-request) that you did.

    Basically they said:

"Your case is currently waiting to be scheduled for an interview. You should receive a notice with an interview date, time, and location within 4-5 months of the date of this letter."

    4-5 MONTHS!!!!!!!! kidding me?????

Should I comment something or errr.... just cry?

well that's sh*t!!! sorry to hear that, I guess that will be the same case for me when I eventually hear back from them, just got to stay positive.

does anyone know when you have to apply for the 10 year green card after the two temporary that it takes as long too?

sooooooo long!!!! nice to see with the money that we pay the service is keeping up with he work loads (cough cough!)

  2. Hey everyone, just have a couple of questions if anyone can shed some light on them.

I have completed the biometrics, and am currently waiting for the notice of my interview date.

However even though through the USCIS website, it says, that they are ready to schedule the interview, and that I should receive a notice for the interview date, by December 26th, if not then I have to request it!

Well its December 28th, have not received anything, so I have sent for request.

    my question is:

    1. has anyone else had this problem of not receiving the notice, I haven't moved addresses or anything,

    2. they said I should have a reply from them about my request by January 17th, is there no way to find out sooner?

    3. what if I miss the interview date due to them not sending/me receiving the interview date!

Any other info would be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.

  3. There have been reports of it taking a month or more to receive the AOS receipts (NOA1) from USCIS. It is good that you have delivery confirmation from USPS. Have they cashed the check?

Hang in there, you will get your AOS receipts from the National Benefit Center, the receipts will likely have a three-letter prefix of 'MSC.'

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Oh yeh sorry, they haven't cashed the cheque yet.

  4. Creag06, EXACT same situation here, according to usps our package arrived at the chicago lockbox October 10th, I did not hear one word from them since than... I just called my bank and the check wasnt checked yet either... I noticed that you live in the Grand Rapids Area too, do you think it could have something to do with that??

Heya mate, yeh maybe, however the Chicago lockbox collects AOS from all over, it wouldn't matter I don't think that its because we are from the grand rapids area. My package arrived at the lockbox on October 12th, so you lt me know if u hear anything :)

Ps where abouts in grand rapids are ya? im south of rapids, in Byron center

  5. Hey everyone im hoping someone can shed some light on this issue.

I immigrated to the US in late august, got married to my spouse, after going through all the necessary paperwork I have sent off my AOS,

I used the tracking code, and says they have received it 2 weeks go from today.

The question is that I haven't received any notice from them even though I had filled out the notification form G-1145 which says they will notify me when they have received it. I haven't received anything.

Plus does anyone know how long it will take for them to respond, I know it varies but just a general outline.

Other than that im just freaking out thinking something has gone wrong, and the know the saying, no news is good news, still doesn't put my mind at ease.

Thanks for reading, and appreciative any help.

  6. Hey everyone my name is creag and have been in the usa since 10/08/2014, I recently got married to my us fiancé on 29th aug and now are starting to try fill out the I-864 form.

ive printed the instructions but as much as ive read them and the I-864 form, I get muddled up and confused on what to do.

My now wife had only been back in the usa herself from may and has been working at a nursery since.

we are currently living with her parents so don't have any bills to pay so we are having her mother to fill out the I-864 FORM as my wifes current fiancés will fall below the poverty line of 125%.

    so my question is:

    1. does just my mother in law fill out the form, or does my wife have to fill out a form too as she petitioned for my K1 visa in the first place?

    2. confused on what box she has to tick on part 1.

    3. she files taxes collectively with her husband so that means she hasn't got a individual tax form but a joint one, does that mean he needs to fill out a form too?

Theres other questions that I cant think of at this moment but it seems every time I read over it again I interpretive it to mean something else. I rang the helpline and all they said is to read the instructions or get a lawyer.

    many thanks

  7. You would have thought with all the backlog etc they would have worked the weekend to try and claw back, get back on track with all the visas.

And yes it's shocking knowing that all they have said and continue to say is oh just wait and be patient, you will get your visa, just not now, or soon, well we don't really know! Hardly gives anyone any reassurance, or info especially when everyone is stuck in the same boat day after day!!!

Anyone know if anyone has had a interview recently at the US embassy in London? Just wondering if people have had their interview and are closer to being issued their visa than someone who had the interview a week before?

Or am I just being paranoid and jealous in these desperate times ;p

  8. Hey everyone, I've been following this thread closely as I am in the same boat/stage.

I had my interview last week 21st July, got told it was all good, I checked my status, says ready, last updated on the 29th, still no change , hope it changes to whatever it has to say so I can get my passport and visa back,

Congrats Marshall, so I see it took around 2 weeks after your interview to have your visa soon? So hopefully I should revive a email or something in the next few days!! Hope everyone is staying calm!! Won't be long people!!

  9. I had my interview on the 17th and still haven't heard anything and status says ready. Just checking every day. Also I notice you are heading to MI, me too!

Where abouts are you living in Michigan when you get there? I'm moving to Grand Rapids area.

Yeh I check my status like every other hour, just frustrating!!

And yes I would never buy my ticket or anything till I have everything in my hand ready. I'm not dealing with all this nonsense and have to change flighs etc more stress before you've even left!!

    Rememeber people

    KEEP CALM and CARRY ON!!!

  10. Hey everyone, I've followed this forum for a while but never posted until now.

The problem I have is that on the 21st July I had my interview at the London US embassy.

The interview went fine, and I was informed I should receive my passport with the visa in it, in a few days.

Then of course with the bad luck of the glitch, I've herd nothing.

I've logged onto the ais.us courier site when your passport is sent before sending onto me, however it says in my visa status to check ds-60 status, which gives a link to the us visa check website, I enter my case file number, and says that it's ready, that all. And I've seen on other threads on this forum of other peoples visa says issued.

I haven't received any email from the courier company as to say that they have my passport/visa and here's the tracking number etc

Nor have I received any info or email from the embassy confirming the current glitch and that everything is on it's way or anything.

So my question is, do I continue to wait day by day until I receive a email?

or anything or is there a contact number, email that I can contact to confirm that my visa is on it's way,?

or that it's in the queue of backlogs

, and if so, how long realistically will it take, not just for myself but the thousands of others who have had there interview in the past week to get through all the visa backlogs.

I have my wedding on 29th August and just hope that it won't take long to get there as the date draws closer.

    Many thanks for any help

    Creag
