They opened interview slots again last night for February 14 appointments, and of course I missed it 😩

How did you know? Is there a certain time of day we should check? or is it just whenever?

Also, does it open only for specific category?

    Thanks!

I just scheduled my mom’s medical exam along with a covid test appointment. I also setup  an account on ustraveldoc for her interview, how do you know when there’s available interview dates?

I am actually wondering the same thing. I have been checking everyday and still no available dates.

I will post something if I find something though.

I’m really bummed about this. I have been feeling down since I found out about the rejection yesterday.

    sorry to hear that. 🙏🙏🙏

I wouldn't worry. We got approval a couple weeks ago and it still at NVC. called NVC twice and getting same response to just be patient. The lady even told me it could take up to 6 weeks. I've seen approval here that their NVC papers is now at US embassy manila.

I wouldn't sweat the expedite in this case. We are in no better boat lmao

I would try and just live your life right now. Eventually they'll be with us. (They have to be.)

Yes.  Also make sure that the translation comes with a certification.  Check here for a sample --

Thank you! I was actually able to get the certificates. I will have it translated. Thanks a bunch!

That's going to be a problem.  The consul officer at my interview was very particular about whether I lived and/or worked abroad for more than 1 year.  Your father could be suspected of misrepresentation by not disclosing his address history in Italy.  Contact the US embassy call center to see if they can re-open his DS-260 so he can correct it before his interview.  If not, make sure he presents to the screener or the consul officer at the embassy, a written statement disclosing the omission of his Italian address history, along with his original Italian police records.  Also make sure to upload the scan of those police records to CEAC portal before his interview.

The Reciprocity page I linked above already lists the requirements, mailing addresses, and procedure.  If you need more details than that, refer to -- https://www.giustizia.it/giustizia/  (I assume your father can read Italian.  I can't.)

Thanks for the info. I will do something about it today.

Yes, definitely.  Instructions for obtaining police records from Italy are listed here -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Italy.html

I'm wondering how your father got DQed by NVC without his Italian police records.  Did he not disclose on his DS-260 that he lived in Italy for more than 1 year?

    Thank you for your response.

Looking at his DS-260, it appears that he mentioned he was working in Italy from 2010-2015. I would assume that would count as living there? Looking at the question as far as where he lived since age of sixteen. He did not post it.

As far as getting the certificate itself, do you have any resources on how to get the clearance step by step? Just the link is a bit confusing.

  7. We are petitioning my father-in-law through IR-5. Just wondering, he stayed in Italy for about more than 5 years to work. However, this was long time ago (not sure how long but I will try to find out). My question is:

Does he need to provide Police Clearance from Italy?

If so, how do we go about this process?

    Currently, he is awaiting interview.

    Thank you!

  8. Please help guys,

I got checklist for 2014 tax, I filed the tax today, NVC is requesting to re fill I-864 and there is no new form on uscis website ! the expiry date is 3.31.2015

please advise what to send exactly because they are listing these requirements:

    1. a written statement indicating why u did not file 2014 federal income tax return

    2. 2014 IRS tax schedules

3.2014 federal income tax returns , IRS printout or letter 1722 issued by the IRS

    4. 2014 W-2 forms or IRS tax transcript

I am so confused what to send and how to fill new I-864 and there is no updated one on USCIS website

    please help

    thanks

The form from USCIS website is always updated. Don't worry about the form expiration, if you got it from USCIS then it should be good. Are you using just your own income? Are you petitioning just one person? If yes for both, I would use I-864EZ form. Less things to fill up, less mess up.

Not sure why you filed tax rather late, I would explain that to NVC in a written statement. e.g. "Subject: Reason for Late Tax Return Filing for 2014"

I would send a copy of Form 1040 or 1040A as well as W-2 for 2014. Not sure if a transcript will be available yet since you just filed today.

I think that should be enough.

  9. I have updated all of you... good work people. :D

FYI from personal experience don't rely only on the 3 NAs because that updated 20 hrs later. If you do call to confirm your CC make sure you ask WHEN it was reviewed/completed.

In my case, I called them this morning, they told me they have not reviewed it yet. They gave me the 45 days notice.

However, towards the end of the day, it went 3 N/A's, so I am assuming that it all happened today. :)
