  1. We received the NOIR within one month of USCIS receiving our case and once we submitted more evidence it only took 2 weeks to get REAFFIRMED. Our Senators office has been on top of our case since it was denied by the Embassy Dec 2016. I believe that is why it did not take long once USCIS received it for us to be reaffirmed.

  2. Has anyone recently had a cr1 or ir1 reaffirmed visa petition approved through the Ghana Embassy? Our reaffirmed case just arrived back there January 4th. Any advice or information about the interview would be wonderful. Trying to figure out what evidence to send husband for his interview since we have sent so much already to USCIS to be reaffirmed and all the evidence sent in the beginning. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  3. Condolences on your situation. Especially during this time of year. It looks like you had sufficient evidence. You can inquire to have a reconsideration or appeal. I have seen some cases where they were looked at by a manager and the decision was reversed. You can try to search VJ for those cases.

Other than that you can see if you can find out exactly why the CO does not believe your relationship is real.

Stay strong for your family and you will overcome.

Thank you. I will do that.

  4. I filed a k-1 in 2014 and we were denied under 221g at the Ghana embassy they never gave us a reason and only responded to my numerous emails with generic responses and responses that didn't even pertain to our case. They held it at the embassy for 4 months until it expired then returned it to USCIS. In 2015 I returned to Ghana and married my fiance. After returning to the states three months later I filed the I-130 petition for my now husbund and 12 yr old step son. I front loaded at USCIS and sent 8 pounds of evidence to accompany my husbund to the interview. We had whats app chats, skyoe, Facebook, Hangouts, Viber, call logs, tons of cards and trinkets and postcards. We also had numerous joint accounts, utility bills in both names, life insurance with him as beneficiary, he and my step son on my mefical dental and vision plan, as well as home owners insurance. I sent in close to 200 pics, wedding pics, traditional Muslim wedding pucs, reciepts, itenerary, boarding passes from both trips, wedding invitations, ect ect.... I sent in so much evidence. My husbund and step son arrived for their interview on December 22nd 2016 the white male CO asked my husbund five questions, he answered each one fully and good detail. As he was answering the last question the CO pushed the white 221g letter under the window and told him he didn't believe our relationship was real. Odviously he had decided this before the interview had even started. He didn't even acknowledge my step son or ask him any questions. What can we do now? Ghana is notorious for denying couples under 221g even when supplied more than enough evidence. Their statistics for issuing visa's is way below the majority of other countries. Our family has been through hell and back and anyone going through this immigration journey knows how hard it is but to go through it now twice and being denied twice we are at our wits end. Does anyone have any advice for us or what we can do? I've already contacted my Senator waiting for a reply and I've emailed the embassy requesting a supervisory review.

  5. There is a group of us that have been denied and or put in AP taking our stories to the media. What Ghana is doing is totally wrong. When you can sit and watch other embassy's giving out visas left and right and Ghana is making up their own excuses not to approve anyone. Perfect amount of evidence, answered all the questions, multiple trips to Ghana and still they will deny. Its time we stand up start contacting the Attorney Generals Office file complaints, notify the media. Things in Ghana aren't going to change until we make it change.

  6. My husband had his interview for the fiance visa December 10, 2014 and was issued a ineligible under 221g but with no explination other than our stuff would be returned to USCIS for further reiview. The embassy finally returned our stuff to USCIS April 30th 2015 and on the DOS website it says we have been in AP this entire time. I returned to Ghana In July and we decided to marry at that time while I was there. Since our case has been at a complete standstill and we are married now we are going to file the I-130 petition. My question is...... Can I just re file the I-130 and will it cancel out the I-129f petition?

I have read online that if you re file the I-130 petition that it will cancel out the I-129f petition. Is that true or do I have to send in a letter to withdraw I-129f before I can file the I-130 petition?

FYI to anyone going through the Ghana embassy that gets KM as a consular be ready to be dissapointed when you leave your interview. This woman is mean and very rude and denies or AP's almost everyone she interviews and for NO reason!

  7. By the time I realized I had submitted the I-129f petition that did not list his son I immediatly called USCIS and the NVC both told me to email the consulars office and tell them to add him and that's all I needed to do. I sent three emails to the Ghana embassy until I got a response and they told us to notify the consular of that at the interview. Unfortunatly the consular did not give my fiance the time to do that.. but he brought his son with him to the interview like we were told to do and the consular asked him questions and he did a great job talking to her and hes only 10 years old.

  8. It is not AP, he has an ineligibility or they don't believe you have a relationship. What questions were asked during the interview ?

She questioned him and his son about my time there, where we stayed, what we ate, what religion I am, who paid for the hotel where we stayed who paid for my plane ticket ect.... My fiance has a clean background, good work history, clear medical.

My fiance is 12 years younger then me and I'm sorry but I have seen others with allot bigger age gap then that so I don't believe its an age issue

  9. Please anybody I need advice and help. My fiance had his interview in Ghana today where he was asked very few questions. We came prepared with a ton of supporting evidence of our relationship and all other needed documentation. He was asked to go out and take a seat a few minutes later he was called to the window and told his visa could not be approved and given a letter on a white sheet of paper that said applicant is ineligable uner 221g INA. But gave no reason for such nor did the consular tell him a reason. So what does that mean and what do we do now? His police certs all came back clear and so did his medicals. I don't understand. I can thinbk of one possiblke mistake and that was I forgot to list his son on my I-129f application and we wanted him to come at the same time with my fiance, could that be why?

  10. We just went through the same issue with the embassy in Ghana. I finally called USCIS and NVC and they told me that the embassy did infact recieve our application and materials. So I emailed the embassy three times before getting a answer. The final answer stated for my fiance to bring a copy of this email with him to the embassy on Wednesday at 7:30 am and he would leave the letter and come back to the embassy at 1:30 that same day to retrieve his packets.. That is what he did and everything worked smoothly from there.
