  1. Just a few hours after my last post, the status changed to WELCOME NOTICE WAS MAILED.

On October 15, 2015, we registered your permanent resident status and mailed you a welcome notice for receipt number MSCXXXXXXXXX. Please follow the instructions in the notice. Your new permanent resident card should arrive by December 14, 2015, after this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later.

    Questions:

    1. do we really have to wait until December 14, 2015 to get hold of the card or it always comes earlier than that?

    2. What does ADIT stands for?

  2. How is everyone? Hope all is well.. We just had an interview (K1) aos last Friday. The interviewer asked questions about our relationship that me and my wife are confident were able to answer everything correctly and truthfully.

According to the interviewer, she could not adjudicate our green card on the spot because she would have to do a research first regarding my experimental drug admission at st lukes. She asked how many times I did it and I only said once in my entire life and that it was purely out of curiosity only.

Also, I did check yes on question number 1: Have you knowingly committed any crime of moral turpitude OR drug related offense for which you were not arrested.. I checked yes because I thought that smoking a puff is an offense because doing that is illegal in my country. Now I realized that maybe drug related offense pertains to much more hardcore offenses like trafficking or possession? Anyway, I included a written explanation with it so I hope that they read it for them to see that I checked because that is how I interpreted a drug related offense and not because they think I was a trafficker. We are so nervous right now. I hope that my admission to the civil surgeon will not haunt us anymore...

  3. So how is everyone doing?? We just had our interview today at santa ana. Everything went well but in the end the interviewer said she could not approve us yet until she has reviewed/researched my medical report when we applied for the k1 visa (im one of the people who fell on the drug question trap by civil surgeons when I said yes i tried puffing marijuana once many years ago). She said if she approves us, the green will only be good for 2 years before we can apply for removal of conditions which are aware of.

Did you guys sign anything after the interview? We did not sign anything. She just said wait for the mail etc. she asked for supporting docs and my i94. She did not ask for my ead. My wife and I are so scared we dont want to be denied because of an experimentation many years ago.

  4. The interviewer read a question at the aos application if "have you knowingly commited a crime of moral turpitude or any drug related offense in which you were not arrested?" My answer there when we filed for the aps was YES because i said YES in my medical that I have indeed tried puffing once in my whole life but still puffing is a drug related offense in which i was not arrested. We just played safe and said yes because we are afraid they would think we were lying if we answered Yes to the civil surgeon and No to the aos application. I swear we really cannot believe that they will deny our green card just by being honest. The us embassy did not even ask those things during my interview and now they will consider the possibility of a denial after i got here in the US and started our life around it? This people will ruin lives if they do so. It is just so unfair.

  5. Hello there,

So me and my wife (petitioner) went to the aos interview today. Everything went well. We were able to provide the docs and we were able to answer consistently to the interviewer which is expected as our marriage is bonafide.

Accdg to the interviewer, she cannot adjudicate it right away because she will have to do some "research" regarding mg medical report. I admitted to the civil surgeon when asked if i have EVER used any type of drug in my entire life. I said YES i tried puffing once many years and that it never happened again. I was refered to a psychologist and said the same thing. The psych eval was good saying that I do not fit to the criteria of class a.

I was even approved by the us embassy of the k1 visa to travel here and evntually marry my wife. We are so scared right now that i might be facing a green card denial. Any experience like this from fellow vjers?

  6. How is everyon?? Hope all is well!! So we just finished our green card interview today. The interviewer asked questions about our relationship that me and my wife are confident were able to answer everything correctly and consistently.

I could not believe that this will again haunt us and could even jeopardize our green card. We are very well settled here already and imagining that I will be deported or denied a green card because of that is really bothering us. I mean they should have not approved my K1 visa in the first place before righy and not wait for this moment and deny us eventually.. Interviewer said wait for 1-2 weeks in the mail..

  7. When did you do the medical? I did the medical july 2014. Aos application was feb 2015 and the interview is on october 2015.

If the basis of the 1year is from the date of medical up to aos application then we are good. But if the rule says that the interview should fall within a year from the medical then we are over it even if the delay was because of them!

What we have is just the ds3025. No i693.

  8. Hypnos. In my case i have no i693. What i have is the ds3025 that i surrendered when i got here in the us. So i never did i693. And we filed for the aos last feb 2015. Which is 7months after my ds3025 in the philippines. Interview is october 2015 which falls over a year from ds3025. Do we still have to do another medical? Or the 1 year will be based on the filing of aos?

  9. Hi guys. Just a question before our interview on October 2. 2015. So i had my medical (ds3025)in July 2014. Then we applied for the aos Feb 2015. Thats 7months after the medical. Do we have to make another medical examination that we have to bring come interview time on october 2? As its more than a year already after the ds3025. I am not really sure as I have read somewhere that an applicant was required to DO another ds3025(medical) because their interview was scheduled more than a year after it was done even though they applied for the AOS 6months after their medical.
