  1. Thanks!! I've learned to be very patient throughout this process... :clock:

Yea, I could have done a lot of things differently, but it's a bit too late now :cry:at least I'm at this stage now. I've been looking at the other timelines to see, but I don't recall as to how much they waited between scan date and CC.

    :)

    Hello there ms1115,

We are also waiting on CC, our scan date is August 5th and really it just seems to be forever. Our 13 year old daughter will need to join school soon as we get there. Man.....................this is really too much.

    Good luck

    Monika

  2. Jeez..... This whole thing sounds very confusing and troublesome that might will risk your future with your beloved one.

Since whats done is done and you are looking for help here, I would like to ask you to be straight forward and truthful to VisaJourney since we are all like one big family here and willing to lend a helping hand wherever we can.

We are all going through this very stressful journey and long process so that we can be reunited with our loved ones. Please check some of my answers and questions in red fonts.

Hi and thanks for any help you can give.

I had no concept precisely how Byzantine this whole process would be. I have gotten pieces of information from many sources which have seemed to indicate several different courses of actions. I won't go through all the twists and turns, but instead will try to give a brief summary that may help in getting an answer as to where to go from here.

I am a US citizen. I am trying to get officially married to a woman from New Zealand and have her immigrate to the US. What does official marriage mean in US?

I visited her in NZ for 3 months and she visited me here for 3 months.

I asked her to marry me and, weirdly enough, she said yes (while visiting me here in the States). So we started in on having a ceremony. What type of ceremony did you have and where did it took place? Im sorry for asking much, but I am trying to figure out how we can help you through this.

Everything I had read to that point indicated that a K3 visa would get her here in a reasonable time frame after she returned to NZ following her visit here (since her tourist visa was going to be up very quickly after the wedding). K3 is a non-immigrant Visa for married partners that I guess would need you to file your marriage certificate.

Basically, ON THE EVE OF THE CEREMONY, I started to see people saying that yes, there is a bunch of info from the Government site and on tons of "visa help" sites regarding the wonders of the K3 visa- but, as it turns out, it is, basically, all BS.

    I see.

OK, after all the planning and searching.... now what?

We are not willing to wait for over a year to start our marriage. So ok, we will not file the Marriage Certificate and will bring her over on a K1, gladly repay the Marriage license fee, and register the marriage without another ceremony in the 90 days we have after her arrival. If you have the Marriage Certificate, file for CR-1. I think the time frame is almost the same as the K1 that you are trying to do. In my opinion, I think being honest might will help you better and reunite soon then cheating the system and risk your future.

After searching this site, I have seen several questions re: religious and other ceremonies performed IN OTHER COUNTRIES with different answers given, but nothing specifically addressing our situation. In my country Namibia, we got only 2 official ceremonies regarding marriage (1. Magistrate Court Wedding Ceremony & 2. Church Wedding Ceremony and both issues married certificates that recognized by law and registered on the same day of your ceremony). We have had a ceremony here in the States, but have not filed the paperwork. Some of this ceremonies, we call them Family introductions, Lobola/Bridal Price We are not legally married or Engagement Party when you not legally married yet. Does anyone have any sure answers as to how this is going to affect the K1 visa application?

Thanks again for any information you can give.

Welcome to Visa Journey and good luck with all that you have to do.

    Monika

  3. Hello family VJ,

Finally, we got our IV Bill invoiced and both DS-260 opened up that we managed to submit today. My husband is also going to mail the packages tomorrow. I am looking forward for the positive response from NVC this time around. They really delayed us long :cry2:.

Both our IV & AOS has been showing PAID for while but it was just impossible to open up the DS-260 until my husband called them more than 3 times I guess.

This African girls misses their papa very much and we are hoping to be scheduled for interview in August.

    Good luck to everyone,

    His Princess Bride

  4. You have to call NVC and ask them to review your DS-261 over phone. Once they review it IV fee will be unlocked. Otherwise to unlock IV fee it may take many weeks. Just call them and ask them to review your DS-261 over phone. You don't have to wait till you pay IV fee. Once you paid your AOS fee you can still send the package. Just use AOS document cover sheet for IV package and strike off AOS. In my case I had used IV cover sheet because IV fee was available the next day after paying AOS fee. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much eljourney for your input. I will pass this info to my hubby and we will definitely just do that.

  5. Yeah hopefully you should have your AOS fee unlocked by tomorrow. Once you filled DS-261 online, you should call NVC to review it over phone. Once they review it your IV fee will be unlocked within 24 hours after the review.

      This I dont understand at all. Can someone please tell me how is possible that within 24hrs some people can have their IV Fee unlocked while we cant get on ours after 9 days of AOS payment and DS-261 being submitted already?

What are we missing here? The AOS status has been standing on PAID for more than a week, on IV Fee its been showing PAY NOW in red bold letters but when you click on it, nothing is happen.

Where do we have to push the button in order for us to pay this IV Fee and send off our packages? :crying: :crying: :crying:

My husband called on Friday and he said the man on the phone was not helpful at all, I did not ask my husband what he ask the agent because I am so frustrated right now.

:crying: Please help me . This waiting is becoming a torture just at the end :cry2::cry2:

  6. Hello there again NVC Filers,

My husband has paid AOS Fee for our daughter and when he received a NVC Welcome letter for me yesterday, he did not get AOS Invoice. Its showing N/A while in our daughter is showing the amount and today changed to paid. Does this also mean that our AOS Fee are linked and that he is only paying one AOS?

    1. The main question is "when can we expect IV Fee to be invoiced" or be available for payment? Its showing PAY NOW but no amount and if you click on pay now; it doesn't do anything.

    2. Or do we have to submitt the AOS documents first before we receive and IV Fee Bill? We wanted to pay this once and send all packages once since we are only going to us MAILING METHOD.

Or should we call them again? This is becoming a bit confusing now sometimes.

Regards & Good luck to everyone

    Monika

  7. Hello Fellow VJ's....

I filed for my husband & step-daughter and their I-130 were approved. I am wondering do I have to pay double I-864 fees? Or only one since I'm applying for both at the same time. Also, if its once how will it be linked, since I had to file two I-130's.

    Hello there Mamabrown3,

How are you holding up and how is everything going? The Burts are being stressed a little bit here.

  8. Hello there all July NVC Filers,

Just checking in and little bit updates on our case. Our Petitions were sent to NVC on 23rd May, received on 30th June and our minor daughter's

Case #, IIN, AOS assigned and invoiced on 15th July and paid on 16th July. Me, the immigrant mother is still waiting on my Case#, IIN & AOS to be assigned and invoiced so that papa can pay the second one and send our packages together since we are not qualified to do EP method due to case number JHNxxxxxxxx.

We are thankful to God that our case looks to be moving faster than the time we expected but I cant help it going through this long process. It has been 12 months and 11 days without seeing each other.

  9. Pleas help this terrified & worried mother

My USC husband has submitted two I-130 petitions of IR-1 & 2 which they have been processed at the same time from the beginning of our case till received at NVC. Our daughter's Case #, IIN # was assigned and AOS was invoiced last Friday and mine is not yet out. Also my husband has already paid the AOS for our daughter but he is still waiting for mine to be assigned, invoiced, pay them and send the packages together.I have read here that if you sponsoring 2 people especially in case of one parent immigrating/traveling with a child that you only pay for one AOS Fee.

    My questions are:

    1. Is my husband going only to pay one fee or should he pay twice since the NVC Case #, IIN, AOS was assigned and invoiced on different dates?

    2. Should he call them to let them know that he got 2 cases there for wife & minor daughter so that they won't end up maybe scheduling our little girl's interview on separate date as me? BTW, our interviews will be taking place in our neighboring country since we got no USCIS counter/US Consulate here in Namibia

    3. How is this paying one AOS Fee for two different petitions going to work in our case that is being worked on days apart?

Anyone went through same route? Please share your experience with us and we will be looking forward to any other contributions too.

God willingly, we are hoping to get my case # and the rest today or tomorrow :cry2:

Thank you for taking your time to read our thread

    Monika

  10. Im not going to get into whether or not you are eligible to use that form or not, Im just going to assume you checked it out completely and are using the right one--

So the answer is you fill out the entire form as needed. Lol.

In part 3 (requestor) thats the intending immigrant. So your daughters info goes there. (Shes not your step daughter since you adopted her but your legal daughter). If you are under 14 years of age, your parent or legal guardian may sign on your behalf. So you would fill out part 3 as your daughter and sign on her behalf based on her age. Question 1 is about whether she speaks english. #2 is you. You are not an attny. 3,4,and 5 are her info. Then you sign.

Part 4 is only if you put yourself as the translator in part 3.

Then move on to part 5. You are the preparer because your daughter did not fill it out. So your info there. And again the bit about if you are an attny.

Hope this helps! Good luck to you on your journey.

Thank you Damara for your response.

  11. I just called around doctor offices here in Bosnia no one does this test here. The only thing they do is test of anti-bodies.

    Hello there E & E,

I am also dealing with the same issue but what I have done since I don't have any vac records, I went to see the doctor who advised me to do anti-bodies titer test to determine which vaccine you will still need and which one you must not take. Its been a long journey finding out the reliable information.

Try to do this to save time

    1. Make a print out of I-693 or any vaccination requirement on your case and take it with you to the doctor. This helps them to understand a much better of what you require them to do.

    2. Explain to the doctor what happen to your vaccination record, if you ever had or not and if you don't know just tell him/her that you don't know.

Some public health care might will help you and some might not. Start that as soon as you can since some of the tests takes a while and you need to receive vaccination weeks in between. I hope this piece of information will be able to help.

    Good luck

  12. It will take a very long time for NVC to notify you via email that they recieve your package. You can simple call to confirm that they got it. At this stage you should be proactive. Don't wait for them or you will be at NVC for months.

Following the guides I went through NVC pretty quickly.

    MrsBurgz,

I just came back to thank you for your advice. My husband called and was told today that our files were received on 30th June but no further processing has been made yet.

What should we do in the meantime while we are waiting?
