    Eunkyung0521,
I'm not sure if you fully understand what we are saying. You will not risk deportation if you delay your entry into the US. You have 6 months (usually) from issuance to use the VISA. So if you got it today, you can use it up until January 25, 2015. THEN, once you arrive in the US, THEN you will have 90 days to get married. There is nothing wrong with delaying your entry into the US unless you just can't wait to be with your fiance, but if you want the wedding you want with family there, you delay. Again, I do not know when your visa was issued, but if it was issued after May 25, 2014 ... then you will have at the earliest until November 2014 to make it into the USA.

^^This. You have 6 months to use your Visa. Once you use your visa to enter the USA, you then have 90 days from point of entry to marry. So if your visa was issued in June, you have like until January to enter the USA.

I think there is a lot of confusion when it comes to the medical, even doing searches on this forum, you get conflicting information. The way I understand it is the medical is valid for 6 month for immigration and it's valid for 1 year for AOS purposes.
But for all tense and purposes whatever the date that is on the visa itself is the date you must be here, regardless if the date is taken from the medical or issuance of the visa itself

    Huh?
I really think the medical is valid for one year (which is why one doesnt need a new one during AOS, as that is usually filed well within that year).
The K-1 visa, when issued, is valid for up to 6 months for a one-time entry into the U.S. After entry, it is cancelled (well, "used" is more like it ;-) and then the 90-day period starts within one has to get married. Once married, you can file for AOS.

I was not aware of that. I was following this information from Department of State :http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/types/family/fiance-k-1.html#11 and didn't see anything about medical examination being the determination start date of the validation of the visa to enter the US.
How can having your medical examination be the start date of the visa when you haven't even been approved? You don't know if you're approved yet so I find it hard to see why that would be the start date and then what about those who's cases have gone to AP? So if they had their medical examination done prior while in AP then their visa could be invalid once its approved since it may have passed the medical examination date? Or have less then 6 months to use it for entering the US?
Just need clarification now, since I didn't know anything about the medical being the start date of the visa usage once its been issued. And why doesn't DHS say that on their website?

If your religion can declared you officially married, then how about holding a quick small religious
wedding with very limited people, and then do the full reception at a later date..after 90 days like you wanted.
Or simply delay your entry into US so that end of the year wedding will be within 90 days.

Not true, technically. You have 6 months from the date of your medical, as they are only good for 6 months. So if you had done your medical a month prior then when you had your interview, then you have 5 months to arrive in the US

After going through the K-1 visa agony, how could anyone consider not doing what the K-1 requires, you are taking a terrible chance, just so a family member can see the wedding.,.,.,.,makes no sense to me, but I know nothing of your reliegon, but I would stay within the K-1 visa guidlines, it could cause huge problems when you try to AOS.,,..,.,
An exchange of words at the court house, then the big wedding, with all the things you want makes more sense..,.,.,,.

You have 6months to use your K1 Visa once it's granted so why come now and have it be complicated? Come to the US when your family members are able to come and you can have the wedding that you want while staying within the 90days K1 laws. Just imagine if everyone started making up their own rules as to when they want to marry once they get here?
We write our intent to marry letter stating that we promise to marry each other within 90 days...not if we feel like it we will and if we don't we won't follow the laws but do things our own way....just doesn't make sense to me.
If I can get the marriage license ahead of time I will marry him at the airport once his plane lands on US soil, in a summer dress, smiling so hard that my face hurt, eyes crying from such happiness because I can't believe he is really here with me...All that matters is HE IS FINALLY HERE!!!...the rest will come.
In reality we are going to do the civil marriage to have it be legal then have the wedding ceremony(vows) later with friends and family. We want to plan our wedding together without all of the stress of trying to be within the 90days time frame. It could be fall, winter or even Spring! We're going to take our own sweet time in planning the rest of our lives together! Don't make it harder than the whole K1 process is...just be glad it'll be over!

hard for me to give accurate advice, you've no timeline !
    options:
    1. marry after 90 days, file I-130 + I-485 set or
    2. delay your entry into USA - I suggest November, if possible and your visa duration allows - then marry, file the I-485 set without the I-130.

You should have 6 months to use the K-1 visa ... delay your arrival to the US until October or September so that everyone will be able to attend the ceremony, it will be after finals, and within the 90 days.
Of course, I have no idea WHEN you actually received your visa so I can not tell you if this would work or not.

I'm curious - what religion is this? If you don't want to say, I understand. But I'm really curious what religion teaches that - it's very interesting.
I understand the part about the religious ceremony being considered the legal marriage. But I don't understand why that should prevent you from having a civil marriage a little earlier. Since you don't consider the civil marriage the real marriage - but only the religious marriage, then why can't you get a quick civil marriage - and simply not consider it a real marriage - until the religious ceremony is completed? That way you'll be here completely legally and you won't have to personally consider yourselves married until the religious ceremony takes place. But as far as the government is concerned, you'll be completely legal the whole time you're here.

Separate the formal registration of marriage to US government, and wedding ceremony.
You can go to the local country court, and file for marriage license, and after required waiting period (few days perhaps),
you can schedule an appointment with Peace of Justice at the county court to officially marry you (about $150 to $250).
And do this ASAP, so that you can get started on the (temporary) green card processing.
That way you can have the wedding ceremony at any time as you are officially married now
and there is no more 90 day time pressure.
