  1. Was this recently and was it sent from the nvc to Cairo or from Sanaa to cairo

Yes this was recently and it was from Nvc to cairo

Miss Yemen if I recall wasn't yours in Cairo to

No mine was still at Nvc and case has been transferred already to Djibouti and got an interview and was approved.

It's true when they say when transferring case from nvc to embassy is better than embassy to embassy... But it takes atleast 2 months from Cairo to Djibouti that I know of

  2. Zanoubia and Juju2010

Have you tried emailing Cairo if so are they replying to your question. Has any case transferred to Djibouti that you know of that was waiting from Cairo.

Yes I know couple people that their case were already sent to Cairo and had and interview there and their cases were transferred to Djibouti and got an interview there already? It took them 2 months since they requested the transfer and case arrival to Djibouti and interview assigned so don't give your hopes up. Be patient and inshallah everyone gets their soon

  3. Can someone here please help me if they know anything.

My case was about to go to Egypt, bas Alhamdulillah I caught it before it did. Then I received an email from the NVC saying my case will be transferred to Djibouti with the new case number that was about to go to Egypt which begins with YTC2015******.

Does anyone know if they give u another case number once it's in Djibouti?? It's been a week since they told me its guna be transferred but my new case number comes up as "your search did not return any data".

Some people I know received emails after I did but with DJI case numbers and their search comes up as "ready".

The embassy doesn't answer or accept emails anymore, and I just don't know what to do anymore.

What do u mean the embassy doesn't accept emails and calls anymore?! Can they even do that

This is what i got too. But the funny thing is why do i have to pay $265? And how is my husband suppose to get to Cairo

if they are not issuing visas to Yemeni nationals. Im so confused!!!!

The u.s embassy in Cairo Egypt are helping Yemeni people with their Egyptian visa so they can go to their interviews. They sent out an email today to my friend who had interview that already passed. They told her to email them his Djibouti address , Djibouti visa for entry , and a number to call them. They are starting to fix the problem of yemenian getting a hard time getting to Egypt. I just thought you guys should know that. If you want more information you can contact the u.s embassy in Cairo and they will tell u what they need to help get to Egypt. I hope this helps

  5. update (nothing great anyway)

After Cairo sent an email telling me that my case was still at NVC, I called NVC and the representative confirmed that they sent it on May 20th. I asked does it matter what case number i give them (the SAA or YTC) he said yeah and that i should give them the YTC because they wouldn;t have record of the SAA (even though the first represenative said it doesn't matter :{) I sent an email back to Cairo with the YTC case number and they told me that they haven't received it yet and that when they do they will contact me. Call me crazy or whatever, but Yemeni cases are sent electronic, so does it really take this long to receive? I would understand if it was sent by mail, but electronic. it's crazy wallah. I feel like they are playing us. First they get everyone's hope up by saying we are going to help and blah blah and then they just take their sweet time or everyone gives you something different.

They told me it doesn't matter either if I give the the old one it automatically takes then to the new one. When u check ur status does show u ur status or does it say no data found

  6. Idk of its a good thing or a bad thing to be honest. It's taking so long. He turned the papers and everything in a week ago and no cheng to my status until today.

My case is under administrative processing. Idk what I should do to understand what is it that I'm supposed to do other than wait.

I tried calling the department of state but it redirects me to the nvc.. I might just call them

Inshallah it's a good thing. I think after this, u get an approval and a visa. Inshallah

  7. This is what the embassy in Djibouti sent me... it's so frustrating.

Your husbands case is still under administrative processing. The Department of State is committed to facilitating legitimate travel and providing prompt and courteous service. At the same time, we must ensure that applicants are both qualified for a visa and do not pose a security risk to the United States. Applicants sometimes require additional screening to determine whether they are eligible for the visa. The term administrative processing refers to various additional checks that must be done before their visas can be issued. Administrative processing does NOT mean that the U.S. government has identified the applicant as a security risk. Many factors can trigger these checks. For security reasons, the consular officer will not be able to provide specific information regarding what additional checks are to be performed nor how long this may take. We continue to review our procedures in an attempt to streamline this process, and we will inform you promptly upon its completion.

I don't get it what does it mean? They're still reviewing his case at the embassy isn't that a good thing?

  8. Is there anyone who knows someone who has arrived in Djibouti, and not been able to get their YEMENi passport back from the port once leaving it?

My husband left leaving his passport at the port and he went after that day for 2 days until they gave it back and paid100$

Wallah idk... I told the lady Im not complaining but why did they expedite it without my knowledge.. she was like because of the situation in yemen

Did a supervisor review ur case?

  9. Im just going to get my self in the Convo lol.. when my case was expedited to a DJI case number, they automatically sent it to the embassy. I didn't request the Expedite or anything.. when I tried signing in to check my status on the ceac.state.gov website, I couldn't with the SAA case number. I called and they told me they expedited my case... at that time I didn't submit my AOS or the IV documents... they told me to let my husband bring them with him to the interview... they told my husband to schedule an interview online himself to submit the dodocuments.. wjen he scheduled the appointment, two days later they gave him an interview.. in the interview everything went well except they asked for the original I -864... I emailed the Djibouti embassy about it bebefore and they said it's fine of its a copy but in the interview they wanted the original... they told my husband to put his passport and original I -864 in an envelope, put his name and case number on the envelope and hand the envelope to the guard at the door in the embassy. Now we are waiting for a week now to get a reply about getting a visa... I'm so anxious and can't wait for a reply... I hate the waiting game..

I wanted to tell u what happened to my case because I was confused on why they told u that they will send ur case when there is an interview date available.. I think it's because there are so many yemenis in Djibouti now... my husband said it's so crowded with yemeni people.

Congrats on the interview! How come they expedited ur case by themselves? And I don't know why they said but my old case number still works too my new one doesn't tho

Technically there is no police certificate available in yemen... if u check this...http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/YM.html.....it says yemen Police records are unavailable... also when I called to ask about it they said that the yemeni criminal status sheet, they don't need it because they don't believe it's 100% accurate and also it says yemen doesn't have it.. idk why but that's what the lady told me.. my husband made one just in case.

Congrats on the interview date. What embassy did ur case go to?

The link doesn't work but alhamdulilah they don't need it. How long did u stay for ur case to transfer to Djibouti from Nvc

  10. Thank you. Inshallah. Dont worry i will keep you updated.

I just got off the phone with Nvc and they told that they're not going to send my case to the embassy until there's a interview date scheduled for me. I thought they send it the the embassy and then the embassy schedules my interview date since my case is expedited and they accepted and sent me a Dji case number. Did that happen to u since ur case was expedited too and they sent u a new case number?

  11. Np..my husbands police certificate also expired aswell.idk what hes gona do with that.im not sure if he will be able to get one from Djibouti but i think hes gona ask a translator and see what he'll have to do.as for the affadavit its still the same sponsor.but they will need the updated papers.

Thanks!! Plz plz let me know what he will end up doing about the expired police certificate... Inshallah his interview goes smoothly and get his visa soon. Thank you so much!

  12. It was sent on the 7th and I believe it arrived on the 18th of this month because thats when it last was updated. I emailed them last night with an update of my case and they replied back to me with an interview date.and today i checked my status and it was last updated today the 26th. Still says ready. Inshallah all goes well for all of us!

OMG u have an interview date?!? Ur so lucky mashallah... So we all have hope now lol... Did u email the embassy with the an update of your case or Nvc? What kind of update did u send? Like a question asking about ur case update or you gave them more information?

  13. I am on the phone with nvc...they lady told me that it left nvc may 20th..so i would have to contact the emabssy directly to see if it got there yet. when i check status online it still said nvc. when i search with the new case number it states "no data found" and with the SAA case number it states at nvc...

Ohh maybe when it reaches the embassy, a status will show for the new case number.
