  1. Nothing for me either. It will be a month since bio for me. I think it's a combination of data renewals and holiday season, so they are a bit overloaded. I was hoping to process my case before the holiday season sets in, but I guess nothing won't happen until the new year. Let the wait continue............

I gave up the idea of starting work this year but still hoping that I will get the EAD before the holidays so I can change my name on my SSC and get my CA driver license.

I have so many things to do once I get my EAD and now I have all the time in the world but no EAD. It's so frustrating! I feel like they should rly try harder to speed up this process!

  2. I had my biometrics done 3 weeks ago and no updates to my cases ever since. I've changed the last 2 digits of my case receipt number when on my uscis to check the status of previous cases to estimate when they will be processing my case. Approx 2 weeks ago the last processed case was 38 and now the last processed one was 39. So it looks like it's taking quite a while to process one case. Would it be because everybody with the diversity visa is getting processed as of 1 October too? It seems to go slower than for people who applied before the end of September.

  3. Ok guys, here's an update that might be of interest to people who have not send a medical exam form.. i guess that might be only myself :P

As a reminder I did not send it because I wanted to get the process started and do the medical while the application is pending (in other words put myself in the queue for EAD as soon as possible :P )

Anyways, I was checking the mail and I saw a USCIS envelope with a yellow paper in it (which looks like ANOTHER RFE) so I almost had a heart attack :(

I opened the envelope almost ready to die and then I saw that it just says that it's for the medical exam which I expected and it's ok but they are not even asking for it! Here's what they say:

"An initial review of evidence submitted with your Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status determined that Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, has not been submitted or has been submitted and is not sufficient for the following reason(s):

[x] A completed and signed I-693 was not submitted; or all pages of Form I-693 are not present or of the same revision date.

You will be required to submit a valid completed and signed Form I-693 at a later date. If you receive an interview notice in the mail, you will be required to bring your updated Form I-693 to your interview. In the even that you are not required to attend an interview, you will be issued a Request for Evidence requiring you to submit an updated Form I-93.

I'M SO GLAD THIS IS NOT AN RFE :D The yellow page just scares the heck out of me!

Thanks so much for sharing this! I was wondering about the same thing! I have completed my I-693 after I've sent in my application since I was planning to show it at the interview. Glad to hear it works!

  4. Hi guys! So it's been a couple days more than a week since I had my biometrics on 10/22 and yet no change in my EAD status! I just wish I could work for the USCIS once I have my EAD to understand what's going on there! Seems like a fun job to me, helping people out!

Oh and how about the I-94 after you had your biometrics on your new married name? Does it also state your new married name at some point? Cos then maybe I can at least I can change the name on my SSN before the EAD! Looks like that one will take forever!

  5. Successful walk in biometrics today at the Chula Vista office! I went in at around 1.30 pm and was out in 15 minutes!!! I think I just had the wrong attitude the first time I tried the early walk in this Monday! Today I just kindly asked him if there is any time at all before next week when he could fit me in. And he agreed on the spot. It was totally my fault the first time around! So walk ins at Chula Vista are possible to!

  6. He made it seem like they don't accept walk-ins. He said: "What would happen if everybody would come in whenever they want? That's why you have an appointment letter!" But then there were 2 successful early walk ins at this office in Chula Vista. So I'm rly hoping to get another person tomorrow that'll let me in.

There didn't seem to be too many people. There were 3 (seemed separate) waiting areas in the Suite for the fingerprints though. Not sure what each one was for.

  7. Early walk in just means showing there before the date :) so you don't need to change it.

take your letter, documentation and go early. If they admit it it will be better to be there when they open so there is no people.

There is a link here in the forum where people mention what offices are walk-in friendly and what offices don't allow it. You can check it for your area

Good luck and congrats!! I think they open at 8 if I'm not wrong or at least the one in Atlanta I went at 9 and had no problem here

Thanks a lot! I found an earlier post for the early walk in at the chula vista office! It's from 2009 but hopefully it's still the same!!! There it said they open at 8 so I'll be there at 7.15 or so!!!! Can't wait!!!!!

  8. Hi guys! I've just moved to san Diego and looking to get a good deal on a car. As the process of moving to a new country like the us on fiancee visa it's quite costly as many of u for sure know I am on a tight budget. Thus I was thinking to check out this government auction in norwalk. However I've never done this before so wondering how it works. Anybody has experience with that? Couldn't find any indication of price for this kind of auction either.

If anybody knows about this and you could please share your experience it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!
