For the embassy you will need an affidavit granting your older daughter permission to escort the younger daughter for the interview process (medical, etc.). CFO may want a copy of this as well, only they may want the notary to be from the consulate.
**Guardian Accompanying Minor to Interview: You will need an affidavit of guardianship in the guardian's name stating what capacity they have. Signed and notarized.
Regarding your EX husband. You would have to consult your annulment documents as to whether you have complete custody or shared custody of the minor child.
For travel here is a link to DSWD requirements.
Hello Hank! Thank you for your reply,
my ex husband will accompany the child to the interview. We both have letters of consent, notarized to be carried by the children. DSWD told me they no longer give travel clearance to minors who are immigrants, they only give them to minors on a non immigrant visa pursuant to an EO of 2017 I'm not familiar with it, DSWD said they will issue an exemption certificate for my minor child. Should the kids carry our divorce decree stating shared custody of the children? With the notarized consent from the father allowing the child to come live with me indefinitely? And I have a notarized consent too that will be carried by the minor.
and I renounced my Philippine Citizenship, is it wiser for me to just go to the Philippines and pick up the children, although with the current travel restrictions, I'm afraid that could take months from now, I'm not even sure if the PI is allowing non Filipinos to fly in. Although my reason would be to pick up the kids. Thanks again.

Please help, my minor child is 8 yrs old and will be travelling to the US with my older daughter who is 19 yo, both IR2 derivatives. What document is needed from my ex husband or from me for a smooth travel? I'm talking about the dswd travel clearance for minors. I have been hearing different requirements from dswd people, one is that DSWD needs a parental consent from me (USC), notarized and stamped by the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles and one from my ex husband who lives in the Philippines currently for the minor child to be issued a travel clearance from DSWD. And also, is the travel clearance needed by the USEM during the interview? please help ASAP.

I am from the Philippines and I want to share with you my experience then maybe, you can get some insight from it. My dad went through annulment just to marry my filipina mom. Since dad's first marriage happened in the Philippines, also with a filipina. My father has money but that has nothing to do with the annulment's approval. It took 6 years for my father's annulment to happen finally. I on the other hand also got married at the age of 18 in the Philippines. Tried annulment but so many requirements that I cannot meet. There can only be certain reasons that annulment can be approved in the Philippines. I finally just decided to file for divorce here in the USA so I can marry my now husband. If you have the time, do your own research and do NOT believe everything that this lady is telling you because she is obviously lying through her teeth. 6 months then annulment can be approved? That is pure baloney. You are young and it breaks my heart that you are going through this. Listen to all the advices in this thread. If someone lies to you about a thing this big, that someone can most definitely do it again. RUN, fast!

Parson me for this post as I am still in shock. I got married to my husband almost 2 yrs ago, same race, I got my aos done and we were quite living happily, the thing is, when I am busy and he gets a lot of free time, he resorts to texting and calling women. I found it out thru our att account middle of last year. Last quarter of the year, my mom suddenly passed away so i had to go back to my country, spent some 4 months in there to settle my mom's properties and my kids whom I haven't petitioned yet. I got back here last month and I did notice that something changed. Like I can feel he is bored when he's with me, that we have dinner and not talking, so i would turn on some music just to kill the dead air. We still get intimate but I can feel that the fire is out, he is always on his phone even in the middle of the night, this was what prompted me before to check to he talks to or texts with last year and we had the confrontation. I accidentally read his email notification about a message from a certain woman at an online dating website. I kept it to myself, after all that email was when I was in my country. But these past few days it was way worse. I noticed that when I am about to get off work, he would text me and tell me he's going to the gym and would spend 3-4 hrs gone. And he takes with him my membership id. So tonight I can't contain it anymore, i was very upset and I told him I want to talk about his account in a dating website, he locked himself in the other room and sent me texts, that it was all my fault, since I was gone for too long and he needed to talk to me but I wasn't here. I just lost my mom!, my bestfriend what soes he want me to do... And he added at the end of his text that I should file for divorce. I don't know what to do.. Its so painful..

Hello VJ members! Just want to share my happiness with you! My interview for aos from tourist visa went like a breeze! We got approved in less than 3 minutes of conversing with the IO. Thank you all, for the info I got based on your experiences and knowledge. Visa\journey has been my greatest help for the last few months. Cheers! And have a merry christmas!!!

Hi to all! I have been reading a lot since I found this website a week ago. To start off, I came here on a B1/B2 visa and while I and my then fiance were having the most enjoyable vacation ever, he popped the question and of course I said yes! and so after a few months of thinking what to do about our situation, ( I was married and separated for a long time in my country, no divorce) I filed for divorce here in the USA and got the final decree 10 weeks ago and so we got married just this weekend. I am now organizing the paperwork for my adjustment of status. I have few concerns of which are:
1. In part 2 of the I-485 it asks: I am applying for an adjustment of status to permanent resident status because??? I dont know which box to tick, seems like i am not fitted to any of the choices:(
2. What will I put in " A Number " ?
3. on the e-Notification of application/petition acceptance, the applicant/petitioner is me, the immigrant? or my husband, the USC
4. In part 3 of I 485, PROCESSING INFORMATION: under A. Marital Status, I was still married on my 1st husband when I came here, just separated for 10 years, is it asking for my marital status when I came in here, or now, anyhow, I am married too right now but to a different person
5. On the I-130 petition for alien relative: question number 7. asks for other names used? should I put my name using my 1st husband's last name? just to help this clear, my passport and visa name is under my 1st husband's name, however, in my petition for divorce, I have also included a request to go back to my former maiden name and it was granted by the court, same time that my final divorce decree came out
6. On the I-767 form, question #16 'WHO MAY FILE FORM I-765, I wrote ©(9), is this correct?
7. On the I-131 form, part 7.1 should i tick one trip or multiple trip or should i just leave them blank?
8. Do I need to fill out a DS 260 form?
9. Lastly, what other proofs of bona fide marriage aside from marriage certificate and photos can I include in my application. I cannot be on the lease of our apartment because they need my SSN and also with his bank account, insurance, utility bills, please enlighten me. Hiring a lawyer is not an option for us right now because we are tight in finances.
10. On the G325A form, employment history, I am not going to lie, I have had part time nannying jobs here and there to help get by, but mostly for just a day, and I do not even know the full names of those people that I nanny for, they just call me ask me if i can baby sit their kids, and that is it. They pay me cash, mostly 25-40 a day and I would sometimes do it twice a week. What shall I put in the full name and address of the employer???
11. The forms that need to be filled out are i-485, I-130, I-131, I-864, G325A, I-765(no bar code on the form), and G325A only?
Thank you so much for taking time to read this. Any help on information will be greatly appreciated:)
