Questions about after NOA2-
I'm the applicant and know I need to fill out the I-134 form showing my proof of income. Exactly how much do I need to proof that I've made? And does my fiancé (the beneficiary) need to prove anything about his income? http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf
How do most couples deal with moving money over when their fiancé moves to the US? My fiancé is from the UK so his money is in pounds and we were thinking he could pull out his money and exchange it when the exchange rate is good and let me take it home to Texas with me when I come out to visit him in a couple of weeks? Is this the best way?
Also as soon as we can get the case number are we allowed to call and schedule the medical or do we need to wait on the form to be sent? u dont have to waite for the pack as soon as u have the case number you can schedule the medical
Good Luck!!

Thanks, I'll get on that tomorrow. It's interesting how we have similar timelines only a few weeks apart and both of our petitions seem to have gotten "lost." Good luck to you as well!
what does ur "my case status" on USCIS says? we got an update that uscis did not sent our petition to nvc on the moment we got noa2, they sent it on 2 december, soo... if ur petition never got to nvc, nvc cant asign a case number coz they dont have it. I recomend u check ur status on uscis..it has to say post desicion...sent to nvc...if not call uscis
btw there r more cases like ours, it seems that nvc has a delay due to so many aproved petitions from countries with expedite reasons.. lets hope we wont pass the validity period on our petitions

We received our NOA2 on September 10th stating we would receive contact from the NVC within 2-4 weeks to confirm that our case has been forwarded and to give us our case number. Here we are three months later and I am starting to get really worried given the expiration date on the notice is next month. My fianceé, the petitioner, sent an email last month to the NVC to request an update but received no response and I just sent one myself a few minutes ago. Does anyone know what's going on here?
we r almost in the same situation, noa2 but no case number so we kept calling on nvc till they said that is odd and they asked if we have our second notification and to send them a scan. Next week we'll have some explanation. Here is the number of nvc (603) 334-0700
Customer Service Representatives can speak with you Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. EST to 12:00 midnight EST.
Petitioner should call them as soon as posible
Good luck!

New Passport due to Change in NameHello Visa Journey, Im a Green-card holder here in the US. I'm planning to have a vacation in my hometown in the Philippines this coming april 2015. My problem is, the Last name on my green card doesn't coincide the Last name on my Phil passport. On my Green Card last name is my Married Name, and the Last name on my Passport is my Single name. Is This Create a big problem on my Entry Back Here in the US? Please give me an advice that I need to do. Thank you very much and May God Bless Us.
The Philippines has instituted the electronic passport (ePassport) system for all its citizens. The ePassport features microchip technology and a host of other security features thereby ensuring that Philippine passports are virtually tamper-proof. ePassport issuance is also compliant with the security standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The Philippine ePassport has an integrated circuit (chip) within its pages containing data that are essential in verifying the identity of the passport holder. These include the personal biographical information found on the data page of the passport, the biometrics of the passport holder, the unique chip identification number, and a digital signature to verify the authenticity of the data stored on the chip. The chip technology allows the information stored in an ePassport to be read by special chip readers at almost every international port of entry.
The Embassy/Consulate General receives and processes applications for ePassports, which in turn is sent to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila for printing and issuance. Please allow at least 8 weeks for the entire process up to release of passport to applicant.
The Embassy/Consulate General advises all Philippine passport holders, whose passports are expiring within the next 6 months, to renew their passports if they intend to travel within the aforementioned period.
All Filipino citizens applying for passports with the Philippine Embassy/Consulate General will no longer need to submit photographs, as their picture, together with their fingerprints and signature, will be taken on-site. This means that all passport applicants, regardless of age, are henceforth required to appear personally.
There is no need for an appointment as applicants are served on a walk-in basis.
Under Philippine laws, a person’s legal name may be amended through the following:
- Change of name due to marriage
- Change of surname of a legitimated child by virtue of a subsequent marriage of parents
- Change of name due to adoption
- Change of name due to death of spouse or annulment of marriage
- Change of name due to divorce (valid only for those Filipinos who did not act as Plaintiff in the divorce proceedings, i.e. the Filipino spouse did not initiate the divorce proceedings; not valid for couples who were both Filipinos at the time of the marriage)
- Change of name as duly ordered by Philippine courts or the Civil Registrar General
- Duly-accomplished passport application form, typed or printed legibly in black or blue ink
- Latest original passport and one photocopy of data page of passport (original will be returned)
- Proof that applicant has not applied for foreign citizenship, e.g. resident alien card
- Self-addressed return envelope, with appropriate stamps for express or priority mail with tracking numbers via US Postal Service, or with pre-paid mailing envelope from private courier of choice, if Passport is to be mailed back.
- Passport fee of $60.00 (non-refundable), payable in cash, or money order, bank draft, certified check or cashier’s check, made payable to "Embassy of the Philippines" (or "Philippine Consulate General", if application is made at one of the Philippine Consulates General in the U.S.). Personal checks and credit cards are not accepted.
Note: The Philippine Embassy/Consulate General assumes no responsibility for any delay or loss in the mail, or while the documents are in the custody of the courier service. The applicant should note the tracking numbers of all envelopes used and submitted.
REQUIREMENTS for change of name due to marriage:- NSO-certified original copy and one (1) photocopy of marriage certificate, if marriage was solemnized in the Philippines (original will be returned). Applicant may apply for NSO Marriage Certificate on-line at www.e-census.com.ph.
- Original and one (1) photocopy of marriage certificate (original will be returned) and duly-accomplished Report of Marriage Contracted Abroad form (please refer to Report of Marriage requirements in the List of Consular Services), if marriage was solemnized abroad

If someone does a fiancé visa or the i-129f/k-1, could someone else be the sponsor besides the petitioner? YES, the petitioner can have a co-sponsor Because the petitioner have just started working in the US and has not filed IRT yet because the petitioner had just reestablished domicile in the US? And do you guys have any idea of what is the time frame for a fiancé visa? Thanks in advance ? I dont know what u mean by that? are u talking about the petition time to get aproved(from1 to several months, it depends), after is aprooved(4 months) or after the visa is issued(6 months from the date of issuance)?

DO I REALLY NEED TO SEND A COPY OF THE ENTIRE I-129F PACKAGE TO MY FIANCE IN MANILA FOR HER INTERVIEW????? if so where can i get copy of the entire I-129f package i sent to USCIS? i don't have a copy because i hired a lawyer and paid in full to file my petition because im so bz at work and lack of time ..now my fiancee got approved and i was reading online what documents to send her and the first one states (i need to send the entire I-129f package). the problem that i have is my lawyer is charging me $600 dollars to give me my copies.. i feel that my lawyer is taking advantage of me by not giving me a copy when she first sent it out back in Nov. 29 2013, she waited till we got approve so she can charge me a fee for my copies..this is the first time i work with a lawyer so i feel like she is trying to get as much money from me as possible ...she has me by my balls and i hate the feeling of that !! i really don't want to pay her for my copies ..
THANKS IN ADVANCE
If u want to be sure about it just send the last page of the petition with ur original signature, ur fiancee can have the rest of the papers from the petition online from u, thats what we did, just to make sure
Good luck!!

first, yes she can change her name, after u two get married she has to go back and change her last name on her ssn, the proof will be ur marriage certf, she can travel but after she gets the travel permit along with work permit from uscis( after she sends her documents for aos,( she should fill the papers with her new name) the uscis will send the travel permit and work permit after 3 weeks or more, depends)

Hi,
I received an rfe also this morning via text message so i havent received the formal letter fr the uscis yet. I know that its probably for the Letter of intent to marry because neither me or my fiance included this in our original petition. So just to clarify, the letter of intent from the beneficiary abroad DOES NOT need to have the original signature? It can just be scanned with the beneficiary's signAture to me and i can mail the copy? Does it have to be notarized? Thanks! Oh, and my beneficiary is also from the philippines (the same as the person who posted this topic)
Im from Romania and have sent my int to marry via email to my fiance, it was a scan, also the form with biometr, there is no need for u to send her original papers, just scan after she signs it, on the other hand she will need several papers from u to the interv on the Ambassy, all originals, not certified copies, originls, ur intend to marry original, aff of suport and proof(paystubs, letter from ur employer, banck acc, etc), ur birth certf or naturalization ( these can be copies), divorce papers if there is neces(certf copy from court), noa2 and a copy of the petition u sent to uscis with the last page with the original sign also ur G form signed plus ur relationship evidence
So, dont worry, i have my noa2 and have sent all of my papers scaned, none is original, after ur petition will be ok u will have to make another int to marry for her with a date much closer to her interv, she will have to do the same!
Good luck and dont stress urslfs, it will be ok!!
-
there is no problem, u can send that letter after she write and sign it...she can send u a scan of the original with her signature, it doesnt have to be the original paper just take care she scan the paper after she signs it
and here is a link to help u and ur fiancee with the petition, u have example forms there and all that u need

when a K-1 visa holder arrives at the port of entry she/he is carrying a sealed Packet.
the packet is not supposed to be opened prior to giving to the customs agent but the packet
does a good size missing corner on the bag.
in the K-1 visa packet is there supposed to be a temporary work permit or temporary green card??
when my fiance went through customs the agent didn't open the packet and simply removed the
passport and visa through the hole in the corner of the bag. the agent didn't search for any other
documents to give to my fiance.
is there anyway to find out if there was a temporary work permit in her packet?? and if so is there
any way to retrieve it or a copy???
Thank you for your help
Brian
For all that( work permit, travel permit, green card,) she/he will have to aply on adjustment of status after u two get married
