  1. I called and spoke to a Tier 2 rep just now. They have everything they need and I should receive the decision in less than 21 days from today. That is much better that the 5 more weeks that I have according to the web page. I hope that I am one of the lucky ones that gets approved the day after calling the Tier 2 people.

Thanks to mrskodua34 for being my secret rage buddy :luv: and M@rita for giving me the motivation to ask for a Tier 2 rep. You guys are great! :star:

Please give us all good luck soon!

  2. As the topic says, what does this mean? I just checken out status and it said on sept 29 the alien number had changed and it's on the "initial review" assuming everything's as its supposed to be like?!

How do people know they are in for an RFE before they get the hard copy btw?!

It means that USCIS has received your paper work and they you have been placed in line to be reviewed. It could take anywhere from 1-10 months but most likely around 5 month before you hear from them again in Texas. Things have been rather slow this year. But you could always get lucky! Some people do!

On your notice you should see a receipt number like SRC########

Use that number to register for free text messages and email updates to your status from USCIS at this page:

How do people know they are in for an RFE before they get the hard copy btw?!

If you register to recieve status updates they will send you a text message and or email that you will get an RFE. Unfortunately only the paper copy of the RFE says what was missing from your documents. It takes 3-5 days to receive the hard copy of the RFE in the mail.

  3. I'm feeling so frustrated with USCIS. They received my RFE response 10 days ago. A divorce certificate was needed. Originally I had sent a notarized letter of marriage eligibility and a notarized letter of proof of divorce. They wanted the original Chinese Divorce Booklet. I sent that and a professionally translated copy as well, complete with certificate of translation. They have had 10 days to spend 10 seconds looking it over. Still nothing... I know people have waited longer than me, but it sure sucks to be this close to being approved and hear nothing with the holidays drawing near.

I will be 40 and single for thanksgiving and 41 and single for Christmas!

Sorry, just had to get it off my chest.

  4. Ok so in the my RFE they want a LETTER OF INTENT TO MARRY my fiancé In Bosnia doesn't know English I msg him what needs to be in that letter he took it to lots of ppl no one wants to notarize it I know retarded I wanted to be on the safe side LEGALLY TRANSLATED so what now ?? is it ok for us to send it only with his signature or we need to include a persons name who translated it in it ??

    I highly recommend this place:

    http://www.foreigndocumenttranslation.com/

I use it for all of my translations from Mandarin Chinese to English. They do it perfectly, in less than 48 hours and send you electronic copies via email and original in the mail. Notarized if you need for a small extra fee. They all email you them so you can proof read them before you agree that it is right before they mail you the original. And they answer the email 7 days a week.

The USCIS approved of all of the documents that I used them for.

  5. Hey guys..... I just want to know if anyone else had to check their status online to know they were approved. I only got e-mail notification for NOA1.. I was approved but I only knew this by checking my case status online...Did this happen to anyone else? Also have anyone who got approved on October 3rd have called NVC just yet. I havent.

I signed up for the text and email notifications online at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp so I always get them.

But I did not get hard copies when I was transferred to California nor when they received the RFE reply from me. When I called about that the woman said "Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't".

I assumed that since it was a federal agency or overseen by one that there were rules and procedures for this stuff, not just some random "I don't feeling like mailing it today or ever". :ranting:
