Okay, I'll put my nerd glasses on and tell you where is the "Schengen" area. It's about 20+ countries in the Europe region which agreed to create a common area without internal borders. Thus, citizens from this participating European countries can crossed each other borders without passports. For visitors going to Schengen area that requires a visa, a common Schengen visa is all that require to visit any country that is part of the Schengen agreement. So if you apply for a visa in French embassy, then you will be issued a Schengen visa, this same visa can be use to enter Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Germany etc...just to name a few of the popular countries in Schengen area. And I found out today that the Schengen agreement was named after the town of Schengen in Luxembourg where the agreement was signed.
I agree that for your medical you should have a reallllllllllly long patience. But a couple of things I want to correct here and maybe a couple of tips. First day, is really first come, first serve basis until the Physical Exam part. There is a separate queue for men, women and children which makes total sense because the doctors would check different "things" for men, women and children. So when you go down to immunization review , it'll be first come, first serve basis but in the manner you went down from the physical exam. I noticed also that men physical exam are quicker that women ...so some guys are going to be served first in the immunization review.
Second day, it's not a first come, first serve basis but based on your first day exam results (whatever that means). I got there around 630 am and got my vaccine shot at 11 am. But I know a girl who arrived 3 hours later than me and got her vaccine later in the afternoon. So it's really a gamble if you come early, but I would suggest to still come early! If your results are all OK (which I know mine will be because I get regular physical exam from my company) then coming early will pay off.
However, the releasing of the results are really NOT first come, first serve basis. Totally makes sense because each applicant have different results so some applicants can have their results ASAP while others have to wait. However, I wish they would notify people when their papers are queued or being processed. I was waiting for my results at 11 am and only got called around 2 pm. They could have at least tell me if I can take my lunch.
And lastly, what we have experienced in SLEC is NOT a "Filipino Style" service..such thing does not exist and it is a disservice to other local establishments that provide good service. The correct term is "Philippine Government Style" because the employees are lazy, RUDE to locals (specially the guard at immunization area --Montenegro), manual process, disorganized, and does not give enough information to applicants. The security guards and SOME doctors have that air of arrogance about them which makes you feel that you owe them something. Typical Phil Govt style....
USEM and St Luke's officials should really take a look at the kind of service being provided by SLEC. I feel bad for other people who would have to go thru that process again in SLEC. Goodluck everyone and be patient.
