  1. Thank you thank you.

    Thank God!

But i didn't receive an email or text though. My case status just changed to 'CARD WAS MAILED TO ME'

Did it also happen to anyone of you? When will i receive my card?

We received email and text messages for the changes in my wife's AOS status.

USCIS says they shipped her card on September 30, I just received notice from USPS that is was delivered to my mailbox today.

  2. Hi! New to visajourney. And this has been bugging me for awhile.

Im a filipino US citizen that got married to a filipina in 2011. Went through the Spouse visa and she was able to come to the US in 2013.

Her demeanor changed. And after a year of arguments left to live with her cousin. SHE filed for divorce in 2014 and it was finished this year.

    Now my questions:

Can I get remarried in the Philippines?

Will the divorce be accepted in the Philippines?

If not, what should I do?

You are a USC, as long as you have a copy of the divorce decree there is no issue having it accepted (for you), doesn't matter whether you filed or your EX. It does matter for her.... ;)

I'm thinking it could be more complicated. Are you a dual citizen of both the US and Philippines? If that is the case then you would probably need to have the marriage annulled in the Philippines before you could be married in the Philippines. Additionally, if you are Catholic you would also need a decree of nullity from the Church before you can get married again in the Church.

  3. I didn't send any proof of marriage except marriage certificate. I strictly followed vj instructions so far and I had no problems. Good luck :)

This must be a function of the office that adjudicates the application. My wife's AOS was sent in as soon after we were married as possible in March. We received 1 RFE then for my income information which I forgot to include. We received the NPIW letter in June. With all the approvals of March filers this month I expected we would see her approval as well. Low and behold, last week we received a 2nd RFE for additional proof of marital union. So now we're waiting again.

  4. Sorry to hear this but as others have said homesickness is very common. My wife has been here 4 months now and she still gets homesick. She spent the last 20+ years working in Hong Kong and Singapore but she still misses home even though she was ever only able to visit every couple of years or so. One thing that can help is to search out a local filipino community or church. Get her involved with some other filipinos in the area. It really helps if they have someone else they can relate to. Before my wife arrived I got her in contact with one of my coworker's filipina wife. They chatted a bit before my wife moved here from Singapore. She now talks with her on a regular basis and we have had dinner with them a couple of times. She spent the day with her recently shopping and preparing dinner for us.

Mainly just reassure her of your love and support and that you'll be patient and understanding during the adjustment.

  5. Hmmmm. I just noticed something quite interesting in the USCIS case status. For my wife's I-485, once they received the RFE response the updated status read that they received the response and to expect a decision by June 21. When I looked today the reference to the date had disappeared. She received her EAD/AP card last month but still no update on interview/interview waiver.

  6. We arrived home from our trip to find that the USPS, despite having a hold mail request for our address, delivered my wife's EAD/AP card to our front porch. It sat exposed in the torrential rains that Dallas has had for the last week. The envelope and paper contained therein had nearly returned to pulp. The card itself was fine though. I am just a little more than slightly irritated with the postal service.

Now we wait until we find out if we're scheduled for an interview or on the waiver list.

  7. now im looking on my phone how to block this number. i started getting mail voices , and too much calls

don't you think i may tell him i get the money, and what to do next? like he told me tell me when you get the money , may be they will give me trace of them?

Ignore these people. They can do nothing to you. They will tell you any lie possible to scam you. Text or call your husband too and let him know what has happened.

These people can be relentless if they think they can get money from you. Just block them and ignore their calls if you cannot block.

If you have an iPhone it's pretty easy to block callers. Just open the Recent calls list, tap the "i" then look to the bottom of the list to find Block this Caller. Not sure how it works with Android phones.

  8. yes right he was talking about arrest/deportation and insisting to do not talk to my husband about the case even i told him my husband is the only person he make me understand things here

from where he get my phone number? and my name and last name ?

i was nervous at point i waned to call the police , now i think i just have to hang up and turn my phone off,

he stop the call , then he call back when he makes sure to me to stay on hold,

Not sure where he got your information but unfortunately dealing with the government many times means some of your information is available in public databases. If your phone has the ability to block numbers do that now. Also pay attention to similar numbers that may call. Many times once these people think they have you hooked they will call from multiple numbers if you start block them. Just hang up and block any other attempts they may try.
