Thank you to every single one of you that wished me congrats!! I am so thankful to this website! Just got off the phone with NVC and its confirmed I do have a CC!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now just waiting for an interview to be scheduled!!!! I hope everyone else waiting now will start to see CCs later today or the rest of this week!!! They are finally moving along guys!! Everyone's time is coming !!!!!
-
GUYS!!!!! I just logged in to check on CEAC & I have an N/A under AoS!!!!!!! Does this possibly mean a CC for me or does it need to be 3 N/As???!?!! I had just checked this morning and there was no N/As omggggggg should I try to call NVC and check on my case??? I know it's peak hours and lines are gonna be busy but I'm so anxious and excited if this means a CC for me!!! I was so worried about a possible checklist!! I can't contain my excitement over this right now!!
-
.Hopefully we get something this week.
We also have the same scan date!! HOpe we get CCs this week!! And CCs soon for everyone still waiting from December in this all too long process! Hopefully we will all be with our loved ones soon! Prayers for everyone
-
I will never stop praying for everyone going though this process. Good luck to all of us this week
I see we both have the same scan date!! I hope we get CCs this week!

Just got off the phone with NVC, luckily was only on hold for 35 mins. ? that was my first time calling since they put the new menu in and felt weird having to listen to it in Spanish as well without having the option of pressing 1 or 2 for everyone who needs the menu in Spanish! Anyway, I have a scan date of Dec. 29th & the lady on the phone said they haven't got to it and they are running 7 days behind cause of the bad weather in February. She also said she hopes they get to it by the end of this week, but to call on Monday or Tuesday next week to check back on it. She was nice when answering me, but it just makes me laugh cause really there aren't many days between the 22nd (which I see they have had some CCs here on visa journey from that date) and the 29th. Main things being Christmas & a weekend. There's probably only 2-3 working days between the dates, but anyway we are getting so close here! Praying for everyone still waiting from mid-early December who are in 70+ days of waiting now! We are so close to the end! Praying for no checklists and a ton of CCs for all us waiting from December this week!!
-
Hi, I was wondering if you could add me to the list as well! My Scan Date is 12-29-14, I don't see anyone with a date of the 29th lol. I hope we all start seeing CC soon!

Hi everyone, so apparently I must have missed the memo about calling NVC to manually review the ds261 agent form, I submitted that on December 5th and still hadn't gotten my IV fee (which is supposed to take awhile anyway) but was getting anxious and happened to read a previous poster say you could call and ask for them to do it over the phone. So woke up this morning and after a 40 minute wait the lady who answered was nice enough to review it and said I should have the IV fee invoiced in about 2 weeks. She said in the meantime go ahead and send all your AOS package & I asked if I could send the IV as well with the AOS bar code sheet and she said I could do that. Well I already sent both those packages last Wednesday before Christmas lol. So here's hoping that I don't receive any checklists and have a smooth rest of the journey after my IV fee and DS260. Good luck to everyone !

just a dumb question,
In form I-864, for the date box near the signature, should we hand-write the date or can we print using the computer ? I'm talking about the date box near the signature box in part 8.
Also same question for box "Print Sponsor's name" in Part 8. Should we hand write or print using the computer ?
Thank you in advance
That's actually a good question. I really hope typing works because for both the date, and the "print name" I typed it in, and the only part i hand wrote was my signature. I hope someone can answer this. I already sent in my packages yesterday. I hope this isn't a major deal whether you type/write it in

You meet the income requirement, so no need for a joint sponsor. You need to list the Total Income (line 22 of 1040) for the last 3 years where it asks on the I-864 form itself. Only the most recent tax transcript is required to be submitted, and not all 3. If your current annual income is $25k, then list that on the form where it asks for the current income and provide a letter from employer and/or recent pay stubs to prove that current income amount.
If the USC sponsor happens to file their 2014 taxes before you have your visa interview, then you could bring a copy of that return to your interview. 2014 tax returns will not actually become the most recent until after April 15th when they are due to be filed, but sometimes people are asked for them before April, especially if they have already been filed.
Thank you for your advice. Just another quick addition to my already lengthy post to begin with stated in the above comment ^ about if I would be better off if I submited assets which would include my checking and savings accounts?
-
As you are cutting it close, i am not sure of the NVC / Consulate take on that....But based on the timeline of your case, you might have to show your 2014 tax transcript during the interview. It is better to be safe than sorry..
Good Luck.
Thank you for your reply, so I slept on it and decided I will claim assets which will be my checking account with about 18k+ in there & also a savings account but that account has my name as well as my mothers. Would this be an issue or not? And with that being said & everything previously stated about tax returns would I be okay and better off on support than If I just submit only tax returns? I realize that's a kind of specific question and it also depends on who handles my case but just trying to cover all bases. I don't want any delays and don't want to be asked for more support after I've already submitted my documents.
-
I am filing the i-864 AOS for my husband, and I have a question about how much I should submit as far as tax transcripts. I am not claiming assets, and I don't want to have to get a co-sponsor if I don't need one. I have posted this question in the NVC thread, but still not sure about the responses i got.
My current income for this year 2014 is estimated $25,000. I have no other dependents my household size would only be 2, myself and my immigrant husband. My most recent tax return (2013) says income as $23,300. So my question is, is that sufficient enough for me to sponsor my husband as the poverty guidelines are stating for a household of 2 to be at $19,662. Am I cutting it close? Will I need a co-sponsor if I submit only my most recent tax transcript?
If submitting only one year will require me to have a co sponsor, then can I submit my other two tax years (2012 - $29,000) and (2011 - $15,156) and not have a joint sponsor? basically I am trying to avoid having to get a co-sponsor although its not that big of a deal I guess if I do have to get one. I have tax transcripts for all 3 most recent years. I guess my main question here is, is my current income and my past three years of income okay to support my husband?
This is a bit of a side note but goes all along with this topic, since I am filling this out in Dec. and the year is almost over, but I will have sent the AOS package in by the end of 2014. Will I or my husband at some point need to show the 2014 tax year transcript? I.E. interview, or possible checklist for my AOS?
Thank you to everyone who can help me out with some answers, and if anyone has a link that I can be redirected to and read then I would be glad to do so.

when did you file for your husband? I saw on your timeline it was January is that right? because I filed in January and it took 4 month to approved and for NOA2 latter and went to nvc.
you should be fine if you are close to 30k this year you don't have to do joint sponsor. as long as its under poverty line you should be fine. you can use your assest too if you want.
Yes I filed on January 30th at USCIS but for whatever reason it took over 8 months for NOA2. It was stuck in security checks. So finally my file was sent and received by NVC on Nov. 5th. I have a checking account with about 18k in there, would I just send bank statements. I wanted to avoid having to claim assets (bank accounts) because I was going to use I-864EZ and I think, from my understanding, you can only use just your earned income. Cannot use anything else like checking/savings accounts etc.
-
Hi everyone, NVC received my case Nov. 5th still no case number, I've called just once a week for the past 3 weeks, and it takes me so many tries to get through. The busy signal is so annoying! lol. Anyway, just a question if anyone happens to know how long it may take for a case number? haven't been able to get through yesterday or today so far & with Thanksgiving this week, I assume today and tomorrow are the last working days for this week for them.
Also I'm trying to get together all my AOS paperwork and had a question about my support. I'm planning on only submitting last years tax transcripts, and my income is stated as $23,300 for year 2013. Will I need a joint sponsor according to the guidelines, I looked up the guidelines and I think I am supposed to go with the household size of 2 (me and my husband who I filed for) its stating that as $19,633. If I plan on only using one year tax transcripts am I cutting it pretty close to that amount? Should I go ahead and take in a joint sponsor? I am currently employed and on track to earn close to 30k this year, I understand they will be looking at current income as well, but with this NVC process already taking as long as it is I don't want to take any chances of them asking for a joint sponsor after I've sent my packets in and further delaying our case.
Thank you any help or advice on this would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, my NOA2 was 10-10-14 from NSC & they mailed out on 10-20-14 I was finally able to get through to someone at NVC a few minutes ago after 30 minute wait, but to be honest I had only called once or twice a day at the end of a last week. They said NVC had received my file on Nov. 5th!! Will give it a week or so more and hoping to get a case number soon! Anxious and nervous to have a number assigned!
-
Yay! Congratulations! I wish you a speedy continuation of the processing!
Did you update your timeline? I'm just wondering if the timeline and status reports in VJ update immediately.
Thank you, I just updated right now. I think they update immediately. I hope I am able to speed through as well, but if there is a wait, it sure can't be as long a wait as USCIS!
congrats!!
thank you!
-
hey guys, just wanted to update you all on my approval!!! Got it October 10th, and I really believe it had something to do with the senators contacting for my case! I received a letter from my senator dated 10-7 saying they had gotten the response from NSC that my case was still pending security checks and 3 days later I received my email/text of approval!! Good luck to all of you still waiting and I hope everyone gets an approval soon!
-
Hi everyone, I finally got an approval on October 10th as well. Such a long wait, and more waiting ahead it seems for NVC! Good luck to all those still waiting for approval I know the wait is hard but I am hoping everyone start getting their approvals soon!
-
You will go the your senator's website. Print out the communitcations release form, fill it out and fax it back with a copy of your NOA1. Once they have your completed consent form they will contact USCIS on your behalf and provide you with the information they received from them.
you should I think that's what did it for me..
Thanks guys, I submitted and faxed the forms today to both senators, now we wait for something to happen I guess. Thank you for helping me out and putting a little bit of hope back into me that this step might work. Everything is worth a try, and at this point I will try anything to finally receive an NOA2.
-
I agree, that contacting the senator helps. They will provide you the same answer about secuirty checks BUT USCIS will move a little faster knowing you have extra eyes on you case. I was in the same boat with the extra security checks and reached out to my senator. I had an approval in about 10 business days after the senator's office contacted USCIS on my behalf. I truly belive I would have be stuck in the land of security checks if I had not contacted the senator. This is just my take on it though.
Hi! Well thank you guys for giving me that advice about the letter but can you guys also kind of help me out on what exactly I should be writing in the letter? I have no idea where to start if I can get it done today then maybe I can have them sent out today or tomorrow but I'm just real nervous.
-
Have you contacted your senator..? And thanks we are very happy, your time is coming soon..
Yes very happy thank you
I haven't contacted my senator but I've been reading a lot of the replies most of the people stuck on security checks are getting from their congressmen and its basically the same thing. Saying the checks aren't clear and we just have to wait. I'm just lost and don't know what more to do besides wait. Did you write to your senator?
-
Hi everyone this morning our i130 has finally been APPROVED after 8 months!!!!! ????
Hey!!! Congrats!! Happy for you!! It's 8 months for me today & I had an infopass meeting yesterday nothing came of it. Just told me I had to wait until security checks cleared. No telling when that will be but I'm so glad you are approved maybe mine will be soon now! Lol.
good luck at NVC!!
-
I am also still waiting from Jan 30th. Got a response from my service request saying pending security checks which I see has been the response for mostly anyone waiting from earlier this year/end of last year. I'm just so disheartened and depressed over this stuff, my husband is also getting very depressed over this cause there has just been no movement and the wait is killing us. I have set up an info pass appt. for next Monday the 29th, hoping they will be able to tell me at least something. But I won't get my hopes up for any extra information.
-
Sorry! i am not March filler but, i am January 2014 filler.
Hi SB miya I'm also a January filler! still waiting around for some kind of movement on my case.
