hi sis, thanks for the reply..wow,if it's 5,000+ for only a 9 month old then how much more for 8yrs of overstaying..well,I think my cousin has a big prob now..that will surely cost him a lot.Only the BIA can tell you how much the fee for the ecc will be since they have a magical way of computing it that is unique to the child's age and other factors. A friend of mine had to pay 5,000+ for a 9mo old baby. Pretty steep. Another option could be applying for a PH passport tho I'm not sure that would work if she didn't register the child's birth abroad with the Phl EMbassy

thank you for your reply..Since the child is a minor, does he need to go thru DSWD for her mom's authorization to travel? The child's passport can be renewed at the U.S. Embassy Manila.
To read about the process, go to the U.S. Embassy's website and click on "Citizens Services."
I have no idea how much the BIA will charge for the overstay. Maybe the first year will be free because of the balikbayan privilege.

the child wanted to be with his dad, since her mom now has another child with another man..the mother agree to send her son back here in the U.S. For a better future..the child will be fetch from the Philippines by my Aunt..We just don't know where to start..thank you for your reply.I cant say whats the rules over there on the child for sure
but it would seem a minor (kid) would have the right to be with
mom in her own country especially since she has to live there
being a deportee from the US....I really doubt there are any
great consequences....The child passport can be renewed at
the US Embassy there. Seem she was deported for moral turpitude

Hi all.. this concerns for my cousin who had her wife deported back to the Philippines 8 years ago,her ex-wife didn't push thru with her GC since she was deported way back home due to immorality ..She brought back home their son who was born here in California..Their son's US passport has been expired and the child had overstayed in the Philippines for 8 years now..my cousin wants his Son back here with him with a mutual agreement with his ex-wife..How much will my cousin pay for his sons 8 yrs overstay in the Philippines and what are the process to take? We just can't find the answer in Bureau of Immigration in Philippines site.. I posted here in Vj, hoping that any member might have a similar case or experience..Thanks in advance for any insight..

Hi my status changed ready to schedule for interview since April 13..but until now nothing has changed..no updates or approval too for my EAD/AP..Good luck to us.Correct my status has said ready for interview since April 23rd and I'm still waiting.apparently it could be months until a interview is scheduled
Although I'm not 100% sure it means we will definitely get a interview and not a waiver

California filers...Our Local Office, seemed moving slow..maybe they have lots of work load..My timeline says case may be adjudicated between May 20-25..crossing my fingers...Congrats to all who got their approvals!
-
Checked online...still no updates for my EAD/AP..???
-
Highly agree..?See, on the bright side you already have a Social Security Card and a State ID. I have a Social Security Card too but still with my maiden name on it, so after receiving my EAD card I gotta go back to the SSA office to apply for a new card. Plus, like many people I also haven't been able to get a State ID without my EAD. We all have reasons to get frustrated with the process sometimes.
-
Congrats! Hope to have mine too..I just got my EAD approved!! (I didn't apply for AP). My case status is now "Card Was Ordered To Be Produced". I'm SO happy!!
*71 days from filing *
*64 days from NOA1 text/email notifications*
*no RFE*
Good luck everyone!

Wow what a big help, I am waiting for my schedule too, at least I have idea what to prepare now, thanks for this..Goodluck to you and hope you can give us updates too..Agree I'm really hoping for work permit to come soon too . Anyway, having an upcoming interview is also stressful coz you have to prepare everything for evidence ,it's like preparing for a Board exam physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually or something haha
By the way, I would like to share a sample hard copy I got today from my upcoming interview. You might find this helpful March 2015 AOS filers These are the instructions. God Bless to all of us

That message will show if you tried to enter a wrong MSC #.. Try to enter your case number correctly..Good luck. What does this mean, I have never seen it before..This is the message I get when I check my case status online:
Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information.

Great! Hope kami din soon...God bless you and your family! Thanks He is just 6 yrs old. Yes he was interviewed but very basic ones. Actually, my schedule is 1 hour ahead of him but the interviewer told us that he could be interviewed at the same time with me Questions asked were: Where and when we met?Asked also about wedding, If our family approved our marriage?Who attended the wedding? What are our plans in the future? He also asked me about my work since I am already working... My son was just asked how old he is and his name.. Then after interview he said we're approved! taga sa atin din nag interview.. And just yesterday, my son and I already received our 2 yr greencard! Thank God

According to my niece same visa as yours.. CO didn't even bother to look at it even me when we had our interview.. As long as you can answer all the CO questions honestly..but better to have it on hand in case the CO will ask for it..that 20 pics will do..Date of the events of being together are so important..Good luck!
-
Highly agree...Huh? No need to be negative.
As a K1 adjuster, there is always a chance for an interview waiver letter. Adjusting from K1 visa is stressful enough, knowing that we have a chance for interview waiver and in that case we won't receive our green card for more than likely a year from filing.
However, in the vast majority of cases "Ready for interview" means that they WILL schedule an interview date.
Good luck to all of us esp my kababayans..My husband had his biometrics last April 14th and our case changed just today
Thank you! Hope your status change soon!
-
?ditto...#squee
thanks...You will for sure..Good luck..Congrats! I hope i hear something soon too....I files the same day as you and I got my biometrics done on April 6th!! fCrossing my fingers!
-
Just put your full name..no signature needed..then A#below your name..u can use a black pen..good luck!
-
To confirm- an AOS related RFE does NOT delay the EAD/AP- correct?
Hi, everything will be put on hold.If you submitted the RFE and will be satisfied by what they asked for, then that's the time they will resume processing your case..
-
Hi..and I think March filers too are moving..as I have change my status same as yours I am just ahead from you for days... I filed mine last March 9 and USCIS received it March 12..Turned Ready to schedule for Interview last April 13,2015 a week after I went for my biometrics..Good luck to us and hope to get our EAD soon..Based on what I've read in the Feb filers thread, it should change to Ready for Interview after another two weeks. However, I don't think I should expect my interview date to be any time before June.
I suppose I might be having a more efficient time of it because my local USCIS office seems to be a pretty quiet place. At least it was the day I went in for my biometrics appointment. I was the only person there, save for the (super nice) employees.

Congrats kabayan!..anyway how old is your son? I am also adjusting w/my 17y.o. Daughter..is your son being interviewed too? And what are the questions..ThanksMy son and I had an AOS interview yesterday and we were approved ! Praise God .. I was actually expecting we would be having RFE because my husband has been unemployed since last month but he did not ask for an updated affidavit of support. He asked if I, the beneficiary, am working and I said yes. Also, I thought he would ask for new medical because we did not go to civil surgeon and ours is already past 1 year ( though it was still good during filing) and my son has no medical records in the officer's file. Good thing we brought all the papers and he just asked for the photocopy of my son's ds 3025. The only thing that we forgot to bring was my husband's G 325a. Fortunately, after he browsed my files the second time, he found it. Questions were very basic like when and where you first met, your wedding date,if our family approved the wedding, who attended our wedding and asked for some joint accounts, bills, insurance etc. also, our plans for future. then the officer said you're approved! wait for your card to be mailed to you in two weeks. So happy and blessed that it went so well

I am adjusting K1 with a K2 derivative..my USC husband and I has a biological child..now 11years old..he was granted his U.S. Citizenship thru CRBA while we are in the process for our visas,it was until our interview with the embassy that the CO told me that he was qualified for US citizenship and will not undergo the visa approval process since USCIS do not issue visas to USC ..we went thru a 3-way DNA too..to prove everything since it was kinda' late claiming my sons citizenship by consular birth abroad..it took us almost 4months in the waiting...after all the long process of getting our visas before,I pray now that everything will be much easier as we have gone thru so much expenses just to surpass everything..at least now he had a blue passport as his dad, that's why we were less burdened by the AOS fees...only me and my K2 are adjusting status...hope to have the schedule soon..and if ever I'll go first on the interview here with others, I will share soon my experience and how it goes...Good luck too and thank you for being active and supportive in this thread...You are SO lucky! I had biometrics done on March 31st and my status has not changed. Most of us K1 AOSers will probably get an Interview Waiver Letter eventually anyway and have to wait 10+ months from filing to have our greencard mailed. I would like to have an interview too and get it all done within a few months! Good luck to you!
-
