  4. LOL i've just received another email from the USCIS about my green card, that is now three of them I've had over the past few days...

    Current Status: Card production ordered.

On October 22, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On October 22, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later.

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On October 27, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS.

The emails seem to have been sent back to front! I'd expect them to be in this order:

  9. I am getting ready to leave for Veracruz in three weeks. I will be staying with Manuel's family. I know in Mexican culture, it is acceptable to bring gifts for his family. Do I need to get gifts for just his parents, or the entire family? (I would ask Manuel, but he would say it was not necessary) Also, what would be appropriate gifts for his parents? His father is 81 and his mother is 61. They live in a small remote village. I 've heard there are certain colors you should stay away from, certain items that would not be useful, etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Kathy

Hello in my case my now husband brought my family in his first trip, a perfume for my mom a cologne for my dad, a shirt for my sister , and at that ponit my grand ma lived with us so he brought her a gel for the muscular pain wich by the way she enjoyed so much. (leg cramps) Of course it wa not necessary to bring anything but it was certainly nice .

enjoy Veracruz it is an awesome place mmm the foooddd, i am already salivating :P

  10. On the I-864, part 3, item 10, they ask

"10. Enter the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring on this form from Part 3, Items 8 and 9. [ ][ ]"

I initially put 1 principal immigrant, no family members - 1, 0 - which is confusing because it looks like "10". Is this correct?

I got an RFE, and our new sponsor that we got, brought this to our attention. Later in the form they use this "10" to add to other numbers in a column.

Numerically, it doesn't make sense - but I remember reading instructions where they said this was correct.

    Thank you!

HI Gordon , in my form i used the first square on the right and put a 0 in the other one 01

i have a sample form that i downloaded, i do not know how to paste it here is pdf but if you need it as reference i will gladly send it to you . :)

  11. Hello Gordon , i am here to show support towards your case i know it is really frustrating to deal with this kind of stuff and sometimes the stress and powerlessness of the situations is hard to deal with , when i read the first posts i felt your pain i am sorry you have to go through this.

I most confess part of your post almost made me cry :

I've always treated everyone in my life with the utmost respect.... and I'm not getting it back in this country. I'm sorry that there's so many chicanos trying to get married so they can bring their cousins. But I love my wife and I'm not here because my home country is and underdeveloped 3rd world hole, or because I didn't have "freedom". I'm here because I love her and because we can help this country get back on track. And part of the reason why it is how it is now, is because if this extremely horrible attitude of some people here, especially the religious right/republican/conservatives. And that attitude is present in the way they deal with people at the USCIS. Unless the guy behind the counter is asian or chicano - then they are nice speaking their respective home dialects. But when an english speaking European comes and they can't relate to that, I get treated like this...

I am mexican and really proud of that , i love my husband more than anything else in this world and he is not from hispanic heritage, he is irish/german and just like you we are waiting for our documents too, and believe me i am not here to go out of my third world country, i am here because my now husband and i talk about what was the best option for us as a couple , i had to do a hard decision, i left my home , my stability , my univertisty studies , everything for love and i do not regreat it . :)

I really hope you get your EAD soon and that the rest of your aos journey will finish soon .

Maybe i am not European , but i do relate to you cause i am HUMAN .

  12. Hey folks,

So I am having some issues with I-693 part 2, the famous vaccination records. I am trying to file for adjustment of status and need to get my I-693 certified by a doctor. However, I don't really have any real proof that I have had all the vaccines. I had a full medical test in Guatemala for the K-1 visa process by a certified doctor. I took my results in a sealed envelope to the embassy and obtained my K-1 Visa without any problems. However, I never received a copy of my medical report and I didn't get one myself because they told me not to open the sealed envelope. So now I am supposed to have a doctor transcribe my vaccination record into a I-693 but the problem is that I have no proof of what my vaccination record is. Has anyone faced the same situation, did you come up with some agreeable solution? I would appreciate anyone's input as to how I should proceed. Thanks for the help.

    Arturo

Youdon't need a full medical, but you do need to show the doctor your vaccination record in case you don't have it they will let you know what vaccinations you need according to your age and gender. I showed my vaccination record and i was missing 3 of them he told me wich ones i need got them and he did the paperwork for me.
