  1. Just curious........anybody from my neck of the woods living in Maine?? Just missing my homeland so much..........I know I'm acting like a baby but this is really tough and poor Bruce is doing everything he can but he feels helpless......................come on, my friends......tell me 'this too shall pass'...................{{{{HUGS}}}}}

  2. Hello everybody, it's been a while!!! Well, I've been in the good old USA for less than 24 hours and I've cried buckets!!! :crying: ...Because I miss my home and family sooooooooooo much. I am very happy to be with Bruce (I love him dearly) but I wish we could live in Newfoundland..................only 11 more years before he retires :unsure: Like the song goes...........''You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime you find...........you get what you need"....Rolling Stones

    Ok so here I am.....The ferry from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia was 3 1/2 hours late because of high winds (typical). The border crossing (Calais, Maine) was painless.....they were quite nice............didn't check the U-Haul or anything. Bruce and I went into the office unescorted and we were finished everything within a half hour. Ok so now what do I do???? The border guard said I can't apply for status until we are married which will be May 16. Did she mean that I can't file anything until after?? That will mean that my Advance Parole application will be a month behind (and I desperately need my AP!!!) Can somebody help me out with this?? Exactly what steps do I take from here (yes I've checked the guide but I am so befuddled right now :unsure: ) I appreciate any help you can give me.....................................{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}

  3. I went through the POE in Calaias Maine, very quick!! They didnt get too visa stuff there, so they had to make a few phone calls to ensure it was done correctly. I passed through in the evening, very quiet. Never inspected my uhaul. Took about 30 min. cheers

    Calais is our POE also. Hoping for a quick and painless inspection. Can't wait to start on my Advance Parole in case I have to come home sooner than planned (my Dad is almost 98, God bless him).............{{{{{HUGS}}}}}

  4. Thank you all so much for your well wishes. I will be moving to Maine next Monday. We got the U-Haul booked but as for packing I still have tons of work left to do. Or I should say the sorting. What to take and what to leave. Things are running quite smooth other than that..........lol............Thanks again, you people are super.....................{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

  5. Mine is up to date. And it sure helped me in knowing other people's timelines. So keep us all in the know. As you can see by mine I just got my Visa approved last Wednesday in Montreal (thread written on it). :dance: Good luck to everybody. It's quite painless once you're approved :P ....{{{{HUGS}}}}

  6. Thanks so much. Your thoughts and prayers came through!! Yes I was approved. :dance: .........just put my new topic in here. LOL............you rascals!!! Yes we were busy but not in a good way...........I ended up with the 24 hour stomach flu right after the appointment. So I spent the rest of Wednesday in bed (not in a good way) with a bucket at the bedside :P and Thursday I was on the mend a bit but not that well then we left that afternoon and spent the next 3 days on the road driving to Newfoundland (minus showers and all) It must be love...............he's still here...........lol..........Read my latest post. Again thanks so much. God love ya..............{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

  7. Hello, my new found wonderful friends. Just had to let you know I got my VISA on Wednesday morning :dance: . My appointment was at 9:30, Bruce and I were there by 7:45 and finished by 9:30!!! The only question I was asked was "How did you meet?". Then he took my fingerprints and gave me my pretty coloured paper stating time to pick Visa up on Thursday (2:30). After that he casually asked me if I still have family here. That was it!!! Quite painless!!

    We are so happy!!! (L) Thank you all so much for your support and guidance. I don't know what I did before I came into the VJ family :thumbs: And thanks so much for telling us about La Tour Centreville Hotel. About a minute's walk to the Embassy. Quite comfortable. But a caution to anybody travelling from the Airport to the Hotel.............there's an error in the directions..........it states 2-20 and it should be 720!!! We were lost for 3 hours in Montreal :angry: But we made it safe and sound!! lol

    Will try to write more soon. We just got back to Newfoundland 10 this morning. We left Montreal at 3 Thursday afternoon!!!! Bruce has driven 3000 KM since Tuesday, my poor Darling is exhausted.

    Take care and again Thank you from the bottom of our hearts (L) .....{{{{{HUGS}}}}}

  8. Well it's almost here.( Darn, I've missed being in here...........with my computer still crashed!!!! :wacko: ) I fly to Montreal tomorrow morning. Bruce will drive from Maine and pick me up at the airport there tomorrow evening (L) . My Interview is at 9:30 Wednesday. Then we will drive back to Newfoundland on Thursday and hopefully home by Saturday. Two weeks from today I will be moving with my love. I miss him so much and can't wait to be in his arms.

    I can use all the thoughts and prayers you can all muster up. The next time you hear from me I will be telling you I have my Visa!!! :thumbs:

    Hope everybody is doing well......................{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}

  9. A couple of questions regarding DS-156........................

    Question 2 regarding Passport........Place of Issuance (do they mean where the passport was issued? all that's in my passport is HULL (under Issuing Authority) Should I put this as Hull, Canada? I think Hull is in Ontario??

    Question 14.....National Identification Number?............Do they mean my Social Insurance Number?

    I'm getting nervous as old heck :wacko: So afraid to make one little error to upset my Interview!! Thanks for all your help.................{{HUGS}}}}
