Yes it is great new and it's almost normal like everyone else. Still have AP in the back of my mind can't help it, don't want to be to happy just in case.

God willing will all get CC soon I do believe in my heart NVC is slowly getting better and catching up.

Try to take it one day at a time....now NVC...tomorrow wait for interview date +preparation for interview questions...then LAST ....AP. Hope no one here gets that. But its a HUGE IMPROVEMENT!! And of course I'll be right behind you

Yes read two nice ones but the beneficiary was Christian and yes we need to prepare our husbands sad to say it should be natural not prepared. I mean prepared as to hopefully keep them calms so they don't tear the plexy glass down to strangle them.

I still havent heard anything from the interview thread but your comment just gave me more hope and now we wont need to wait 6-8mos for interview!! Now we just need NVC to wake up & approve our cases!! So if you get CC this month....hopefully ur husband will be for Christmas!!! BEST OF LUCK!!!

Below is a very mild case of how CO's at the Cairo Embassy treat beneficiaries it's usually a thousand times worse making fun of the wives insulting in so many ways etc. It's frightening.

This was an expedite. September 6, 2014 Embassy Review : My husband had his interview at 7:30am on September 1st. He arrived one hour early. They took his fingerprints promptly after him entering the embassy but then had to wait an hour before being interviewed. The consular officer was an American man who spoke Arabic. He treated my husband poorly from the start and told him his English sucked. The interview lasted only 30 minutes. Asked how we met, where I went to school and did I graduate, the names of my family members, very basic questions. The CO told my husband at the end he believed he was not telling the truth because of our language barrier and gave him a paper requesting our chat logs from Facebook since that is how we commonly communicate. My husband tried to show the CO more evidence he had brought with him but he refused to look at it. Simply told my husband "I want more" in a rude tone and ended the interview. We sent back the requested chat logs same day and our case has not yet updated to a new status.

It wasn't a horrible experience for my husband but it was not a real confidence booster to have his English made fun of and to be treated so rudely. Fortunately, we had practiced the interview beforehand and he knew it was likely he would get a tough CO. Rating : Poor

Thanks for sharing this! I've heard alot of interviews in Cairo are like this...and the CO also asks tricky questions (about specific dates) to confuse the beneficiary (especially if beneficiary is a guy) and then after the interview the dreaded AP....? So we still have some ways to go but praying all goes well for everyone and our husbands get a nice CO. I think I've read 1-2 good reviews for the Cairo embassy...at least we know so we can prepare. I remember reading something similar when USCIS was backlogged & a little after USCIS got way better (but inundated NVC ?) So im really really hoping things get better at NVC quickly. We've had bad luck with USCIS & even obtaining Police Certificates then NVC announced the 60day timeframe. ?

Oh I'll let you know, no worries there. It's important we know what to expect for many reasons but remember the person your talking about had put in an expedite, she said nothing about a denial or acceptance. So I don't hold much hope in that one sad to day. We need to pray hard that they are catching up finally and it would be about time. Us dancing hahahaaaa :rofl:

Just got off the the phone with NVC talked to Don OMG what a sweet heart he is. Told me I have two more weeks to go and my scan date for my IV is July 24 Th.

Not sure if I gave you that date yet precious. So waiting on DS-260 and IV.

So far this isn't going to be such a bad weekend after all.

Yup has to be expedite.

Hope it's a normal one and not expedite. Remember last month they did really good (about 2 months after cc) to schedule egypt interview. I really really hope the embassy is better now And we dont have to wait 6months for interview after CC. I will check out the interview date thread later and see if anyone from egypt has gotten interview dates. Keep us posted if that person replies and says if it was/ was not an expedite.

Hey Nanana!! So glad to finally see u finally got NOA2!!! Hope its better at NVC and u can get a quick CC. I really encourage u to read and re-read Saylin's wiki and hope u already have all docs (especially the Police Certificates) as some may take months to obtain ?. I havent called NVC but just keep trying until u get thru.

I pray and wish NVC speed up with the whole process from tomorrow and put a smile on our faces.

YOu have to open the form in adobe reader. Some browsers let you see the form but it is not the right one. You probably don't see the bar code on the bottom of each page either

Yup thats exactly what happened. I saved a copy on my computer and then was able to input my info & the bar code showed up at the bottom of all pages. ? THANKS FOR UR HELP, REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!

More than just using Chrome, I would download the PDF to your computer and use Adobe Reader to fill it out. I had problems with every web-browser I tried in both OSX and Windows.

As you type, the big barcode at the bottom of each page should be making small changes. I didn't notice that happening until I used Adobe Reader (not a web browser). Also, with Adobe Reader there were some other changes I noticed that I didn't see in modifying the PDF on the computer. For example, when choosing the country, some fields in the address section are automatically blanked out so you can't fill them in.

I think the PDF was made for the Adobe format more than other PDF readers. In the end, I just used that even though it was a bit slower than other programs.

Good luck! As a side note, I don't think you'd get a checklist for not having the code, I just imagine that it would be much easier for them to input your information using the code. I think they can still manually type your information in anyway.

I had the same kinda problem and it turns out it was the browser I was using. Try using Google Chrome.

I have a question about Form I-864 and sorry if this is dumb but I just want to make sure.......On part 5 question 2 the online form does not let me enter "1" to include myself. Is it ok if after I print the form I put "1" with a pen? or how did you guys enter "1" to count yourself?

I remember reading something about a code that gets printed out at the bottom of every page so NVC scans that and it automatically inputs all the info on the form into their system somehow. I just wanna make sure because I don't want us to get checklisted for something as simple as this.

Last night I realized I didn't print out the DS-260 confirmation page so I hunted for it and only saw the DS-261 I called NVC and the lady weird name said to go to payment page (which I had) and it would be there. I told her the only one I see was DS-261 but she insisted. I went back and nothing so I decided to click on the IV and went from one page to the next until I got to the end and sure enough you can print it out or send via e-mail. So I sent one to my husband and one to myself and it arrived promptly which doesn't usually happen. Just now I open my e-mail and there is another one but looks totally different than the one they sent me last night. Looks like the one below what do you think? Just a duplicate? The face of the one I requested they send me only had a few words in the body this one had all the below.

Hi Soloenta!! The most recent one is the same we got for my husband. We never got a short version....but the one with details u posted is exactly same as ours ?

She applied on the Aug 18th and got it yesterday, so about a week and half. When we checked online it said "certificate is ready for collection" and when we called them, they asked her to email copy of her passport and copy of the online application. Couple of days later we got email saying bring fees and come for the certificate.

Can you give me the email address you guys used?

We applied July 17th and the status changed adound same time (1wk and a half) but my husband went to the embassy and told him to wait.

I sent an email to the US Embassy in Egypt about police certificates & asked how long its taking them to schedule interview appointments and this is what they replied:

"as for the police certificate it is valid for one year, even if it says it is only for 3 months. As for the interview, the NVC determines that not the American Embassy.

I thought the US Embassy in Egypt was the one that scheduled the interview dates not NVC?? Any thoughts? Does this mean that maybe Cairo is caught up and they're back to normal interview scheduling?
