    Schedule an InfoPass appointment to get an I-551 stamp. That acts as a green card for 1 year. There's no fee involved.
    I think the officer thought your card was a 10 year card and you needed to file for a renewal (I-90), not going through ROC. You can't get a new card while going through ROC.

    We have not had any email response from them (emailed 2 weeks ago). I have also not been able to get through on the phone - it is always busy :/
