We had to provide second police certificate with medical. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe in the eyes of Embassy its only valid for 6 months.

We did automatic SSN upon arival as well. My wife arrived 4/23/2015. Got her SSN 1 week after arrival. Got her GC yesterday 6/4 2015

Same Recommendation, go to Colombia's US Embassy and explain your situation.

I noticed some people were ranting about immigration while being together and doing AOS. I don't understand them. While being apart and ranting, yes I do understand, but while together, who cares how long it takes. My wife came here 1 week ago and I could care less how long her green card takes to arrive. She is here and that's all that matters.

My wife came to SF on CR1. When she got to the end of the line the officer noticed that her address on the Customs form was different from address for CR1 and they marked red X on customs form and had my wife go to an office. The reason the address was different because I have recently got new place and we decided to put new address on customs form. They held my wife in an office for about 1 hour. She could not understand anything they were saying. They fingerprinted here there and kept talking to her in English, even though she could not understand anything. No translator was provided. My wife was really stressed out and was in tears because of how they handled it. It was really bad experience for her.

Red warning sign is flashing in my head.
If that is true, that is really too bad, but look on the bright side,
think about how much more messy it would have been
had you already come to US and now facing a divorce.
If I was in your current situation, I would look for convincing reasons
on why I want to marry such person.
I think you should have very honest and direct conversation with her
and decide whether you should even go to the interview.
This is CR1 Visa. I assume they are already married.

haha, good one
This is exactly what bothers me so much- having my happiness depend on the moods of some ....
The process is so ridiculously subjective...
Why does your happiness depend on VISA? You can always move over there where she is at. My happiness does not depend on getting visa or not. If by any chance they will deny my petition I will say good bye to U.S. and leave to live with her. What you are saying that your happiness depends on getting a visa? dude.. if you really love her you would be willing to move there.

My wife's interview is 8 hours away. I'm so excited. Finally. We have waited more than a year for this day. Hopefully all goes well. Sigh, it was long long long long long journey. I hope it all ends in 8 hours and she gets her visa and comes over here to US.

I did that. Filed both I-130 and I-129F for K3. They Closed my K3 and continued with I-130 for CR1

My wife speaks 0 English. She is about to go to interview at the embassy and will get her visa shortly. Yeah finally!!! I had to wait entire year. I'm just concerned that she has no flying experience and doesn't speak any English and she has to go through customs and they ask questions there all the time. From my experience they always ask me "what was the reason for your trip" and "if im bringing any purchased items abroad" and so on. Does anyone have any experience with this and can help guide on what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, very difficult process. I don't wish this on anyone . My wife and I are coming to the end of I-130 journey. It is draining emotionally and financially. Only one who waited year or more can understand what pain it is. The first three months were really a nightmare. I wanted to find job overseas and leave US just to be with her, but couldn't find any work abroad.

it is really hard to be apart for a year. They should make I-129F and I-130 Process take same time. Right now 129F people get here fast and do AOS, why don't U.S. do same for I-130? Spouse enters US and then AOS instead of waiting waiting and waiting. It would be more fair I think.

Yes, both AOS and IV was invoiced

Hi, I would like to know if I can send both packets before paying the fee. I paid my AOS fee of 120 today but don't have enough money to pay for IV until next Friday since I spent a lot on plane ticket to go see my wife for Christmas. So I'm wondering if I should just send the packets and pay IV fee next Friday. Or that's not going to work? Also will it delay the process if I do everything next Friday? Thanks

I got my CR1 NOA 2 on August 25th and still waiting for the case number. Its normal that you have to wait so long. I guess we get the number next week.
Use the time to prepare all for the next step. Get the records and photos you'll need and preview/prefill the forms
Called NVC regarding CR1 case, they said they started inputing it into system 10/22/2014. The rep also told me that it would take up to 42 days for them to completely input the case into system.
What is the process to get 10 Year Green Card
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion

My wife has a 2 year green card that is going to be expiring in April. I'm just wondering what is the process to start working on 10 year green card? Do we wait for a mail from USCIS or do we need to start applying by ourselves? How does this phase work. Thanks Guys.
