You can try but it'll be hard to overcome immigrant intent if she was approved for an I-130.
She was denied 😞

So we messed up last year and filed an i130 for my MIL without actually applying for a visa. That was approved in April of 23, and we have yet to fill out the 824 to request action. Would my MIL be able to file for a B2 visa to visit this spring while she waits on the more long term process?
Thanks!

Got a letter, oath ceremony is next Friday! Can you get a passport while you are there? Thought I read that somewhere.

No additional documents asked during interview. N-400 interview is the easiest, if your record is clean and answers all questions truthfully. They know more about you than you know about you during our long immigration journey and they have everything about you, checked your background several times. So relax
Still in limbo. She passed the test, but they couldn't grant citizenship because they said the i751 is still pending. So frustrating.

Did they ask for any additional documents?

Interview went quite well. Approved both I-751 and N-400 on July 3, 2019. Expected to received 10 YR GC today. Oath ceremony on 15th July.
Congratulations that's great! I'm surprised they issue the gc even though you got citizenship, seems silly.

We are November 2017 ROC and applied N400 in Nov, 2018. Interview on June 28, 2019 ( Philly). No news about ROC and no news about comb interview. Sent an email inquiry and waiting for the answer.
How did the interview go? My wife has hers coming up on the 29th, finally!

Good luck! Hopefully we get an interview soon then!

Philadelphia Office -
I received notification today of my N400 interview being scheduled. I am a ROC Dec 2017 filer and haven't had an update since April 2018 - case received at local office.
I will be watching for your updates!
We originally filed for ROC in Ohio November 2017, and N400 in 2018. Then moved to PA in December of 2018. Still waiting on an interview. Hopefully soon.

We filed my wife's i751 Nov 2017. Filed n400 Sept 2018. Got an interview scheduled Jan 22 2019, but moved in December so her case got transferred to Philadelphia. Now we are in limbo, and can't get her dl transferred because the extension letter for the green card expires in 4 months. I'm seeing how hard it is for folks to get an infopass appointment, and getting kinda worried with everyone's experiences on here with both together 😮

Ugh. That just makes me sooooooooooo upset. Its just not fair
I know the feeling. I was not very nice. I apologized and knew it wasn't his fault, but it really is such BS. They acted like we waited til the last minute or something. I said sir we applied for this new green card in 2017! Thanks for letting me vent 😣

Wow I feel like they gave you wrong info. She should be able to get a DL at least until the ext letter is expired.
I spoke to the manager. Said it was state law and his employee would be breaking it if she gave us a license.

They did ask me why i made the appt in Cleveland and i told her because that was the only open appts and she said ok. I have heard before of them taking the expired greencards. My husbands ext. letter was expiring 2/13/19 GC had expired 2/13/18. The gave the I551 until next Febuary. 2020. If you do go to the infopass appt. take the expired passport and 2 passport size photos. Also try making appts at midnight a lot of people have had luck with that. Why wont Penndot give her a license? They should honor her expired gc and ext letter???? We are both licensed in Maryland because my husband is a jockey and we move around a lot so we use my moms address as a permanent address.
Thanks for the info! Penndot said they cannot accept any documents that are good for less than 6 months of status. Her extension letter expires in June. I was pretty annoyed. Hopefully we can get it figured out.

Have you tried to make an appt thru infopass? I tried 4 different field offices near me(1 1/2 to 6 hours) away which were Philly, Pittsburgh, Washington DC & Cleveland. Well Cleveland actually has several openings we went to that one and my husbands passport was actually expired but we brought two passport pics and they basicallly cut his pic and glued it onto a I-94 and stampend it with the I-551 for another year. They took his expired GC and just yesterday i got an update that they sent a RFE so im super stressed now until i see what they want more. Our major problem is we dont file our taxes together. But other than that we have everything together which i provided when i orginally filed And i know how u feel my husbands DL already expired, but we are going to wait until hopefully he gets approved for the 10yr card because we arw tired of going to the MVA for “limited term” Driver licenses that we have to keep renewing and paying
btw my husband rec. no. Is 180047*****
I tried once for the info pass and got the no appointments available at this time message. I didn't know you could go to other service centers. DC is actually closer to us. Her passport is also expired 😫. They took your green card? That seems unusual. What good is the extension letter without the card it's referring to? Also, we can't get a DL until this is straightened out. Penndot won't issue one. Best of luck to you and your husband!

My wife filed 11/20/17. Her receipt is WAC18051. It was transferred to NBC December 20, 2018. She also has a pending n400. Was actually scheduled to have an interview for that January 22, but we moved and had to transfer her case to Philadelphia. Now we need to get the infopass stamp so she can get a driver's license. Any advice on this craziness?
-
I was wondering if my wife needs to send pictures with her n400? It says to on here, but the instructions she has say only need to if you live outside of the us.
-
Wow, good luck to you! If you have a chance, keep me posted on how things turn out!

Ok so is the paper they give you to keep with your expired conditional green card sufficient until everything is processed?
-
But csc already sent it to my local office, which I assume is Cincinnati since that's where we have done biometrics before.
-
My wife's I 751 application was received at the local office in March, and we haven't heard anything yet. We originally filed it at the California service center back in November. I was just wondering if anyone has any info. Maybe we're just getting impatient.
Thanks 😀

Thanks for the advice. Didn't mean to say I was helping, just wanted to know what was needed to come here

My wife, who has been here a little over a year and is now a resident, is pregnant. We want to bring her mom here to visit from the Philippines when the baby is born. Just looking for advice on the visa process to do this.
-
We are filling out our I-485 right now. I was wondering if we should put k1 in the current uscis status question of part 1. She entered the us on a k1 visa, and we are now married. The next question is expires on...and hers expired last week.
MIL interview questions
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
My Filipino wife, who is now a us citizen, petitioned to bring her mom here. She has an interview scheduled for April 16. Now it says that she has an ofc appointment on 4/23, and a consular appointment May 22nd. She is really confused what these appointments are for and why they are after her interview. I assume one is biometrics? She hasn't received any correspondence besides the interview on the 16th. If anyone has any input that would be great.
Thanks!
