    Congrats Promenad!!

One question..your removal of conditions were approved on July 5, 2018 or 2019?

Did they send you the actual Green Card?

PS: Now you can go and visit Buenos Aires and try some steak on my behalf!! congrats again!

yes on july 5th, 2018 (i had applied the year before so it took an year and a month and it was sent to vermont and then transferred when I moved to seattle).

It was quite weird but i guess was unrelated with me having applied for citizenship 2 days earlier (and the 4th was a holiday).

yes they did send me the 10 years greencard.

oh man my family is still there having fun but at least they are going to be back for the oath!

Congrats Promenad! What date in July 2018 did you file and where in the region are you based (Eastside or Seattle)?

Oh I updated the timeline but the link dont work:

    Seattle based not transferred

    Applied on July 3, 2018

Removal of pending conditions approved on July 5, 2018 (i think was just coincidence)

    Interview October 16, 2019

    Oath scheduled October 31, 2019

  3. Another piece of data:

    Interview date was 10/16;

    Left the interview with "decision cannot be made";

    Decision was made next day and approved;

    Oath scheduled for 10/31

The document comes with a list of the same questions from form n400 (travelled out of us, crimes , marriage, communist party and so on) in the back about the interval between interview and oath.

I was informed that I can't change names during Seattle oath because they don't have something.

Good luck for everybody in the wait. I sure know how it is a very frustrating  process!

@promenad - thanks for posting your interview experience and congratulations on almost getting there.

I was exactly in the same boat as you ["decision cannot be made" etc.] about a month ago [my interview was on Sep 23]. And my oath is on Oct 24 so things can change really rapidly.

From what I have read on this thread, the "no decision" doesn't even delay the oath. For example my actual approval happened about 10 days after the interview but I am still taking oath within a month or so of the interview date. I find that is true of lot of other folks too who got approved but were unable to take oath the same day.

So relax and stay positive. All the best.

    Thanks Sukhdeen. I will try!!

Congratulations for having your case approved!

  5. Well folks just to give an account of my not successful interview (the officer decided that a decision couldn't be made and told me he would evaluate and make a decision about if he needed more documents).

Application sent on July 3 2018

Interview Scheduled on September for today 16th of october

I got there 10:40 and my interview was scheduled originally for 11:15.

From what I could grasp from the mess (there was so many people in the room. I would guess around 80+) the people whose interview had finished around 10:30  got the oath scheduled for the afternoon at 1:30 and the people that were leaving as I arrived got a letter saying to come back in a month or that they would receive a letter about when their oath would be scheduled.

I was finally called around noon. The interview went very smoothly. It took 25 min.

First photo, biometric collection and some signatures and oath of truth.

Then in the sequence the officer did the reading and writing test (very simple like reading and writing a statement of 3 words). The questions were all in the easy side (no names of current politicians were asked and nothing really deep about the constitution. It is an oral test and not a multiple choice). 5 of them of civics and the last one about geography. I answered all correctly so the test ended by question number 6.

After that he went thru my n400 form (is that the name? the form we filled during the application) and asked about all my answers. I had an issue that I had highlighted during the application and was what lead to my "no decision". So he asked me if I could provide any documents about that but the document I gave him was long enough that he said he would take some time to analyze and because of that he would not make a decision). After that we went for the "300" questions that you answered about being a member of a militia or having some nuclear weapons or commited genocide and he read all really fast and I answered it the best I could.

Then he did a couple of updates in my application and gave me a piece of paper with all the options but with mine marked as decision couldn't be made...

Well... that is not the best result but is what happened! Glad I had all the possible documents with me but I am still in the limbo... My impression was that most of the people had their cases approved on the spot. Lots of families and a couple of people with lawyers.

Good luck for all and fingers crossed! The officer mentioned 30 days to a decision but in a way that in fact it will take a way longer than 30 days....

Best of luck! (from your fellow Argentinean :)

So, it seems that it's possible to get the I751 approved prior to being on board for the N400.

I am wondering..did you file your I751 to the California Service Center like most part of Seattlelites like me did?

Did you do anything special to accelerate your I751 (call Customer Service, set an Infopass, etc.)?

No... I was living in the east coast when i filled (i think it went to vermont) so my case was transfered to california when I changed my address. I did nothing about the I751. I wasn't expecting to have it approved in fact and went ahead because the 3 years rule for the n400 was already kicking. When I received the email a few days after I was quite surprised and thought about calling to see if it was a mistake but sure enough the card arrived before i did anything.

    Hope it answers your questions!

Oh Argentina! I was supposed to be in BsAs right now if wasn't this stuff!!!! For real!

Pomenad...for you it will be approximately 15.5 months for the N400 to be approved.

But did you get first your lifiting conditions (I mean, I751, Removal of Conditions) approved?

Are you going to a combo interview or is it going be solely a Naturalization-only interview?

Was really weird. I applied on the 3rd of june 2018 for n-400 with my i-751 still pending. On the 5th I got a letter saying that the i-751 was approved and card was in production... so I guess it is going to be a n400 interview only... Im quite nervous cause my case is not the most straightforward.... fingers crossed!

Anyone has experience about the wait time counting down by days? Do you have the interview letter before the countdown or after it runs out

Mine went down to 1 and then to we are taking more time than we expect and then stayed like that for maybe a month and then i got the interview scheduled. Looking the graphics and information I would say that i was "lucky" and seems that most of the people wait longer in Seattle...

    Hi everyone!

I had my interview today in the San Fernando Office and passed!

Since my I-751 was still pending, I had the two interviews together - good thing my husband was with me or they'd have to reschedule it.

I didn't know the office opened so early, by 08:20am I was out of there. Now I'll wait to hear about the Oath Ceremony. Can't wait for this to be finally over! :)

Do you need the spouse in the interview? I am still waiting Seattle to make a move but now the message is that they are taking longer than they estimated...

Now it's saying that it takes 16 - 18.5 months.  I applied June 9th, when I log in it used to says estimated completion time September 2019 until a few days ago. Now it only says that they're taking longer than expected to process the case. I was thinking I'll already have an interview by this time. Apparently not.

Oh man that stinks. I was with a little bit of hope of an october interview but I guess it will not be (i applied beginning of july 2018)....

Case Completion time 2 months Sept 2019

I have a very similar screen. Case completion 3 months (october) estimated wait time 23 days and so on...

I need to buy a ticket for travelling out of the country mid sep to mid oct and now I am in this limbo without knowing what to do....

I applied in Sept 2018 and the estimate time is now Dec 2019. Estimate time 5 months and estimated completion is also 5 months? I don’t know why its taking this long... my case is not transferred. Probably because I live in North Seattle :(

seems that everybody is reporting 15+ months. mine was like yours but then they increased the estimated time closer to the 1 year mark.
