  1. Hi

The title says all. I received another letter of extension for my conditional greencard (another 6 months) but the thing is I received my 10 years gc in the summer.... is that normal like a glitch in their system?

To add to it I did apply for the naturalization (still pending) and 2 days after i applied i received the greencard....

    Thanks

  2. Hi

I applied on the 3rd and my biometric appointment will be on the 27th. The completion mentioned 15 months (way longer than i thought!)

I did online and liked it but had an strange stuff. I disclosed a driving without drivers license ticket (i didnt had it in hand, guy hit my car and i got a citation to show to the judge that i had a drivers license) and then the application asked about jail time!!! Weird. Hope it will not create a issue!

    Good luck for everybody!

Hi, congratulations! Have you ever received a letter or some kind of a confirmation that your case was moved to California? I filed with Vermont last June but moved in February and supposedly my case should've been transferred to CSC, but I never received any confirmation of that, so I believe my case is still in VSC *well, I hope it is there cuz CSC is insanely slow*

Yes. I got a letter back in october and then in april a case moved to local office.

  4. Hi

I got the greencard is being produced message. My case was received on the 20th of june. Initially was in vermont but i moved and the case was moved to california and then to local office. I did apply for naturalization 2 days before receiving the message about the greencard. Hope is not a mistake! Does it takes 120 days to receive as mentioned in the message? Good luck for everybody here!

18 months of physical presence is required for 3 year rule and you seem to be out for ~14 months. Technically you should have no issues with N400. By the interview time, you would’ve accrued even more months of physical presence.

For continuous residence, you already have taxes n paychecks, you can also add leases documents like that . You should be good.

Thanks for the answer. That is my math too (it was a total of 430 days out in the past 3 years). I do not have a lease for the period between nov 2016 and now since it is a family property without mortgage or rent. An affidavit from the owner could be helpful? Any other suggestions of documents? (I think i do have the electric bills in our name a period of it).

Any other person with similar experience that did the process and interview that could tell me about their journey would be helpful!

  6. Hi

This is my situation. I came to US in January 2015 with a K1 visa, married just after that and became a greencard holder in september 15th. Since then I had the following travels abroad.

    - September/october 2015 trip was a working trip followed by visiting family in my home country.

    - April to september 2nd 2016 was our delayed honeymoon during which my wife (us citizen) got a job with an american research institution that led us to be out of US between

    - september 8th to december 10th

    - and again between jan 2017 and april 2017.

    - Finally i had another work trip in May of the same year.

During  all this time we did keep our address (my wifes mother is the owner) and we never failed to keep our taxes in order. Her job provided a pay check in a US based address and payment in a US bank.

With all that (and the timeline of my i94 above) can I enter with my n 400 petition at the 3 years mark of becoming a greencard holder? What sort of documents can i use to proof the continuous residence in US besides the ones i mentioned (taxes, pay checks)?

    Thanks all!

You are inputting the wrong number. You have two case numbers associated to your ROC application one that identifies your extension letter you can see it at the top as "receipt number" and another one for you actual ROC application that one you can find in the notice of action for your biometrics appointment is side by the side to the one your extension letter has. When you input that one it will give the "case was received" status everyone has.

well both numbers now say "Case Was Received At My Local Office"

  8. just checked and got this same thing. on the 25th. does anybody has any experience of what next?

Bumping this thread since we've gotten an update indicating our case was "received at my local office" on February 26, 2018.  Not sure what to take of this, but we're definitely excited to know we're not forgotten and they are actually working on June 2017 filers at CSC :D

  9. A question: my case status either says "Validation Error(s) You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding: My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283"

or it says "Case Was Receive On June 20, 2017, we received your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number x, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case..."

i did the biometric back in july and changed address (what lead to my process being moved from vermont to california) in october.

    Is that the normal case?

There's not a presumption of breaking continuous residence since no single trip was over 6 months, but the officer is permitted to look at the totality of the circumstances to make a decision on the requirement. If sufficient ties to the US were maintained then I think you would be alright.

    https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume12-PartD-Chapter3.html

"An officer may also review whether an applicant with multiple absences of less than 6 months will be able to satisfy the continuous residence and physical presence requirements. In some cases, an applicant may not be able to establish that his or her principal actual dwelling place is in the United States or establish residence within the United States for the statutorily required period of time. Thank you very much. We kept bank accounts, health insurance, paying taxes and so on. Hope is enough!

If you go to the requirements for citizenship you cannot have more than 18 months out of the country in a 3 year period and also as mindthegap and Geowrian have stated no more than 6 months at a time.

I think if you look at the N400 section or post there regarding this they might be able to help you a little more as they are applying and going through the process.

Thank you so much! I will try to post it there. No more travels out of usa for a while!

  11. Hi all

To put in the shortest possible form: i was going just for a tourist trip with my wife when we started in april 2015 in a series of countries (none for more than a month). But then, in august, she got a research position abroad (with an american institution not listed in the recognized by the general attorney) so we came back to usa in the beggining of september, stayed a week to get our stuff and we left again until December. We then stayed for a month in usa and left in middle January to just come back in the last day of may. Since then we are in usa. We really didnt think much of it till recently when reading about applying for citizenship as we wait for the removing conditions. We did keep insurance, paying taxes and stuff but we didnt keep our rent after september. And i never had a problem coming and going thru immigration.

So my question is if anyone know about issues that this situation could imply and if there any documentation that i should think about to indicate never having changing our intention of fixing residence in usa.

    thanks all!

  12. Just to confirm: after i complete the fingerprints chances are that i will not get any communication from uscis or the 10 years greencard for an year? We are planning to go in a road trip for the next couple of months and although we are going to have somebody checking the mailbox we are hoping to not need to fly back or something. My case is in Vermont. Thanks all!
