RW365 got a reaction from Zee and Kai in CEAC status updates BEFORE interview - London
Hi All - I was wondering if anyone knows about the CEAC status updates BEFORE the interview. What triggers an update in the system?
    Is it:
    1.Mailing of packet-3
    2. Receipt of medical exam results, and
    3. Mailing of packet-4
OR, are there additional events on top of these three that trigger an update, like when you submit the DS-160, and when you submit the 'applicant readiness' form as well?
Needless to say, I'm obsessively checking my status every ten minutes. But if I know what and when to expect, it might help me cool off a bit.
    Thank you!

The embassy has changed up their website a bit on the K1 instruction page. Of note it says "take the following three steps", but then have changed to four steps. So typical. They change things but don't look at the whole page to see what else they needed to change.
So the Readiness form link appeared in Step 4 yesterday. Today (10/23/2014) it is an invalid link.
So here is the Readiness Form for those who need it before somebody fixes the web site. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/notification_of_applicant_readiness_form.html

RW365 reacted to We Keep Receipts in Why a Gay Man Is Raising Money for Homophobic Bakers
Remember the husband and wife who owned a bakery called Sweet Cakes by Melissa in Gresham, Ore., and refused to make a cake for a lesbian couple in January?
In response, the state of Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries could fine Aaron and Melissa Klein up to $150,000, The Oregonian reported.
At this point, 21 states and Washington, D.C., have laws making it illegal to refuse service to someone on the basis of sexual orientation. Some states have exceptions for small businesses and religious organizations—but not Oregon. An antidiscrimination law there protects gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people from discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations.
The Kleins say a fee of this size would bankrupt them. They have already closed their store, but according to The Huffington Post, they’re still taking orders online and operating out of a home kitchen. The couple have become heroes within conservative and antigay circles, appearing in October at the Values Voter Summit, where they were lauded for refusing to compromise their beliefs.
"It's definitely impacted us pretty hard financially, and it's been a little stressful, but...we have the Lord and so He's been keeping us strong," said Aaron Klein.
At least one gay person feels sympathy for the couple. Matt Stolhandske, a gay Christian and a board member of Evangelicals for Marriage Equality, has started fund-raising in case they do get fined and go bankrupt.
“We strongly disapprove of the Kleins’ discriminatory act towards the women who simply requested a cake for their reception," Stolhandske wrote in The Washington Post, "but we are raising money to demonstrate to the Kleins what love looks like in the face of discrimination.”

Now that's something. The sinner is more Christlike than the Christians.

It doesn't let you edit it once you have submitted it. You have to submit a new one. Although, I googled a bit - it looks like people have used both NVC number and TSC number in the past, and have had no problems. I don't know anyone from London specifically though, who used SRC number and still didn't have any problems.

Hi there - Can I just confirm something? You submitted the DS-160 and applicant readiness form before you got the packet 3/3.5, correct? Just trying to figure out why they misplaced Hiroshi's forms (and if they did mine too!)

We're approved!!! Just got our text.
Just this morning we heard back from our Congressman's office (after over a month!) that it was "delayed due to background checks issues" (sic) -- which seeing as it was within the normal processing time, I don't know why they would call it delayed --and that it was with an officer for final adjudication now. And we got the approval text the same night!
I guess the CSC transfers must be making a difference at TSC. Good luck to those who're waiting for their news. Stay strong.

At the risk of inviting some more cheery-eyed happy-clappies who can only see the world as bright and beautiful -- and tell you to be patient, because our time is coming -- or worse, threaten to pray for us....I will agree with you.
The grass is not that green on the other side, after all. The lack of accountability in public services is a global malaise. America is no exception. Heigh ho.

It's most certainly not just you. I want to say, hang in there. But I've been hanging in there myself, and it's not nice at all.
But seriously, though, have you guys noticed, TSC has had almost NO approvals these past few days. WHAT THE $^(^@() is going on there??

Don't worry about your case until you need to worry about your case, there is a high (probably 98%) chance you'll be approved within normal processing time (6 months). I understand your concerns, but it's not worth worrying about. It's nothing to do with red flag countries, in that case the UK is also a red flag country. We have been on security checks for 2 months now, and I have no affiliations with any other country apart from the UK, and the US (brother is a US citizen).
There is literally no way to explain additional processing or these long delays for certain people, it is completely random, and probably only 2% of applications are in this situation, we can just live in hope that I, Masenko and MadhaviSri, and a few others hear something soon! Thinking of you guys!

So there are TEN of us who are from April and May and have NOT been transferred. Are there any more? Please let us know, at least just by identifying yourself so we can keep track and try to make sense of the process somehow.
And among the 10, any more news? I'm going crazy not knowing, and looking at those who were transferred getting their approvals so fast is depressing me even more, even though I am happy for them.
Share your misery. Share your joy. Share your news. Share something. Anything!

FTR, I saw nothing that could possibly be construed as negative, unless posts were removed before I had a chance to read them.
Please understand how lucky you were and that people are happy for you. Also understand that there are folks who have been waiting far longer than you and are a bit confused as to how TSC is conducting business. It is not personal.
Good luck on the rest of your journey.

Perhaps you should get off your recently-mounted high horse. Nobody here has been negative about you, nor said anything about the country you're from. What people are complaining about is an unfair system - something that you should've been all too familiar with, having been on the receiving end of it till a day ago.

I'm an April 1st filer and I haven't been transfered. I've seen another April 1st filer got transfered, though. So I have no idea But just a few minutes ago, I saw on Igor's List that an April filer from TSC got approved, I shouldn't be overly excited about that but it made me happy to see that.
I'm not concerned about not being transfered. In fact, I don't want to get transfered, because TSC is going really fast now. They're about to be done with Feb and it only took them a week or two to get to this point after they got done with Jan filers. I'm hoping to get approval in September if the pace goes like this. Transfers usually take a few weeks to be completed, and I really don't want to waste time being transfered and stay at TSC where I can get an approval in a few weeks anyway.
