  1. I got my RFE letter today by mail....my ridiculous RFE and Im guilty...I dont answered the questions of the I129F

    33. Is your fiancé(e) related to you? ___yes ____no

33.a. If you are related, state the nature and degree of relationship, e.g third cousin or maternal uncle etc __________________

    Omitted Items:

Complete the item(s) circled in red on the attached copy of the petition. If any item does not apply, write N/A.

(they bring me a copy of that page of my application and made a circle in red the previous questions 33. 33.a.)

    AND THAT'S ALL... :ranting:

Oh no! So sorry to hear that.

I have a further question to everyone: IF you answered NO to Q.33, do you still have to write N/A to Q.33a? I would think that's redundant, right? I mean, wherever there was a sereis of subquestions that foilowed a main question which was a yes/no, if I answered the main Q as a NO, I left all subsequent subquestions blank. IS THIS OK?? Did I just screw up my application??? :o

  2. I recieved the NOA1 by email on the 22nd May and the hardcopy in the post yesterday, i.e., 27th of May. But when I check teh case status on the USCIS website, it says

"Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

Is this normal?? Does it really take this long for the case to appear in the online records? Or should I be calling them and alerting them to this. A bit worried now. Please advise.

  3. I hope none of you are taking my comments as personal attacks, just conversing as an adult here)))

I read the letter, it is a valiant effort to get things changed. If you were completely selfless and doing it for "the people" then you wouldn't have included your service # or even written the letter anonymously. I mean do you think they were going to look at your letter stating how many hardships you face being away from your significant that you stated then not try to inquire about your case or expedite it?) Lets be real here and call a spade a spade, shall we?

There's nothing wrong with it! yes it is hard to wait and sure the 5 month wait time sucks!

I think that a lot of you do not understand how a service center works. They have metrics to meet (processing times and # of files processed per person), They have team leaders that know CSC is light years a head of them and are definitely catching flak for it. These centers go in cycles, CSC hasn't always been this fast and TSC hasn't always been this slow. A little over a year ago the wait times were around 8 or 9 months. So in reality 5 months is pretty good.

I have no control over what anyone does. I would love to see everyone get approved but at the same time seeing so many people wracking their brains out over the TSC processing lag is unsettling. Just speaking my mind, don't take any of it personal. Good luck and I will stay out of this thread, sorry if I upset anyone)))

Staying out of this thread and airing it elsewhere is not the point TheFoxxy. The point of OP's letter was to appeal to address the discrepancy between TSC and CSC. Regardless of what the reason is, the least they can do is to balance the work load -- or adjust the workload to balance throughput based on efficiency or whatever other factors. I don't see how ANYONE can object to that, so frankly, I don't see your point. Just because some have waited for 5 months doesn't mean that is what everyone should do, when there might just be even a miniiscule chance that the inefficiency could get addressed. For all we know, we will all end up waiting for 5 months or longer -- which presumably will make you feel better, than if we tried to do what we could about it? Really?

  4. With all due respect, I think you've got the idea of fairness slightly wrong. Just because some of us have waited (quite avoidably) for 5 months and gone through the suffering, doesn't mean we all have to go through the suffering just to commiserate with them. If their wait was down to a broken system -- which it clearly is -- the solution is to get the system fixed, and NOT to suffer in silence just like them, so we can all feel better (?) that we are all suffering?? Sounds weird to me.

  5. What's even worse is to see some of them (CSC filers) whine about CSC not moving fast enough to approve them...after 20 days  or how they suffered so terribly waiting 23 days for their approval.

To answer your question, no, there is nothing we can do other than write our representatives and complain. If they receive enough complaints, it may raise some awareness and get the disparity addressed but I would not hold your breath...unless you really like the color blue :)

They may know about it, but they will still go home at 17.00 every day and not lose any sleep over it.

SO......it looks like there MIGHT just be something we can do about this. One February filer at TSC wrote to the senator in his/her state about the discrepancy between TSC and CSC and the issue got immediate attention. Her case has been approved almost immediately. Don't know what this means for the rest of us, but I think theere is a case to be made for a concerted pressure from all of us TSC filers. Let us all write to our respective senators about the TSC/CSC discrepancy? If there is anything at all we can do about this arbitrariness, THIS might just be it. I am writing to my senators tomorrow. PLEASE go ahead and do the same. This MIGHT work. Might not. But nothing ventured, nothing gained...............

  6. Wow - this is good news! I agree, if we all put in a concerted effort by writing to our respective senators, there is hope that they might address the discrepancy issues between TSC and CSC, whether it happens by addressing inefficiency at TSC or by moving some of our apps to CSC. One way or other, this will mean some dent in our long and painful waits. I will write to my senators tomorrow! Come on, TSC filers, we need us all to act now!

  7. We just sent our papers last friday, May 23. And we're also worried that our case will also have a long waiting time ;(

Hi Pinayanne27 -- You have reason to cheer. From my obsessive lurking around on these forums, it appears that applications from Philippines seem to have an expedited processing at TSC - for one reason or other. And if you end up at CSC, then you have no reason to worry at all. Good luck!

  8. Are there any new K-1 visa petition filers among us? My boyfriend (US) and I (UK) filed our 129F last week and got the NOA1 which said the case has been routed to Texas Service Centre. From the other threads on the forum it looks like we're in for a long and agonizing wait. The lucky few who have their case routed to California Service Centre, seem to be getting their NOA2 within days/weeks. That just seems unfair - and inefficient; but I am happy for anyone who's not having to go through the miserable waiting!

Any other recent same-sex 129F filers? Please share your stories and progress through the morass of USCIS. That will make our wait less painful

  9. I'm a May filer. Recieved my NOA1 by email on 22nd May and it says Texas Service Center. Yet to get the hardcopy.

While I'm happy for all the CSC people who're breezing through with their petitions, isn't it unfair that CSC is so efficient in moving the petitions and TSC is so sluggish? IS THERE ANYTHING AT ALL WE CAN DO ABOUT THIS!? :( -- Probably not.

BUT, can we at least have an additional/separate thread for May filers being processed at TSC? As happy as we all are for the CSC guys, we need some extra commiseration, sympathy and support that only the TSC filers can provide! I will start one. All TSC May filers, please join the discussion there. MISERY SHARED IS MISERY HALVED!
