Were your trying to get a visit visa to see your wife or for some other reason?

They will question you to make sure your marriage is real and not just to get into the United States. If you were trying to visit your wife a letter from her saying you were trying to visit her would help.

Just be prepared with a good reason why you applied 3 times and got refused but are now trying to enter the United States through marriage.

Normally being denied a visit visa has nothing to do with applying for a family visa, still be prepared for any and all questions.

She is right be prepared to answer these questions! they will ask you these questions but on the other hand its 100 legitimate info that 214b refusal has nothing to do with immigrant visa !! as its intent is to immigrate and 214b refusal is totally opposite! goodluck

Hope you all doing well. I want to clear some of my queries. All of you have attended your interviews and seen the cases of many persons from Islamabad. I hope you people can better help me.

I want to know whether any of you have applied for non immigrant visa e.g. student or visit visa, prior to immigrant visa?

Did they ask about these non immigrant visa, its reason of refusal?(if refused)?

Did they refuse immigrant visa because of the history of previous refusal of non immigrant visa?

Did they put any one in AP just because of it?

Please share me if any of you know something about it

yes they do ask about your travel history to usa,

they also ask for the denial and its reason,

but i have been told by visa officer(at islamabad) himself that denial of nonimmigrant visa under 214b has nothing to do with immigrant visa and has zero impact on it.

immigrant visa has immigrant intent!!! so it Does not matter.

Embassy closed on monday and Tuesday for 9th 10th Muharram? :/

Hey to answer you in short , Dont delay ir1/cr1 process at all go ahead and apply for it there are many security checks etc and it would take probably more than two years, if not its better two have conditional greencard apply for extension come back, and complete your residency ,that what i suggest.

P.s i have been through whole process just waiting for ap to be over.

By the Grace of Allah, We are out of this nightmare! We got the passport with visa this Saturday.

I am posting this message for all of you who get really caught with updates and not having updates.

Interview: August, 2013

6 updates after the interview.

No updates till March 20th.. 3 or 4 updates than it stopped.

No updates till August, 2014..

End of August it update to expiring soon. (medical and Ds 260 expired)

Email embassy.. Changed to Ap again..

No update till September 19th.

September 19th: Call for Medical and Ds 260

September 20th: Submitted DS 260 by email.

Oct 2: Call for finger print and oath

Oct 22: Finger Print (12:30pm appointment but didn't get out from embassy till 4pm)

October 23: Issued!!

October 24: Passport in Hand!! ALLHUMDULLILAH!!

So my brother and sisters.. Continue to do DUA for yourself and others.. Don't get caught up with Updates.. It happens when Allah desires..

It was long 14 months of AP!! 20 months since we submitted I 130!!!

Mine updated on the 24th, then my last update was on the 27th and ISSUED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =) FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I will email them, from what date do you think I should email? 12 november?

My husband's interview was on september 5, they gave him 221g to submit some documents, he submitted those on september 8, the status updated after that on september 12 and then september 16. so when should i email them?

what do u mean vo? can u show me where you read that?

lol vo means visa officer( the one who interviews you) you should at least give them 60 days then email them ,i think its a standard ap and its never two long,

p.s i was given a white paper for administrative processing which states that one should contact them every two months.

September 12 and september 16 were the only updates I have seen so far. Its like they have forgotten to look at my file lol feels that way at least

you should email them every two months no matter what ,the page i got from vo clearly states that you should inquire every two months, i did on 12th october ,got no reply but got two updates one on 23 second on 24th,

mine updated on 23rd and 24th ,i hope it brings some good news in!!
