It was very smooth. 400 people naturalized with me.

Time I was given: 8:30am

I got there at 8:15

Was seated by 8:40

Ceremony was over AND I had my certificate in hand by 9:45

Unfortunately because of govt shutdown, the passport people couldn't be there. So until the govt is back up and running, I don't think the option to apply right then and there will be available.

Also, just FYI: Initially everyone lines up outside the building, until they slowly start letting everyone in. So if it's a rainy day, be prepared with an umbrella!

Also, in this location no strollers allowed, and limited seating available for guests. Just something to keep in mind.

My USCIS journey is complete! I am officially a citizen  :)

CASE UPDATE:

April 2017 CSC filer here.

I had applied for naturalization earlier this year, so hadn't had any movement on my ROC application.

I had my N400 interview on Nov 28th, which turned into a joint interview for both applications. No indication was given to me at the interview about being approved.

I received an approval letter for my I-751 in the mail, which was dated November 29th.

And until this day, none of my I-751 online statuses have updated to reflect the approval.

Note: I have not received a 10 yr green card, nor do I expect to, since I'll be attending an oath ceremony soon to become a USC.

I had my interview yesterday!

I still have a pending ROC, so I had hoped for a joint interview.

I went with my husband and son, who was born in the time since I sent in the application.

The first thing the officer said to me was about how we had a problem because of the pending ROC, and how he couldn't adjudicate my n400 case until Roc was resolved.

It was a little confusing, I didn't know if he was going to tackle both or not.

He said that because my husband and son were there, it made things easier and so I wouldn't need much proof of relationship otherwise (Since I am applying for the n400 with the 3 year rule, I needed proof for that application too).

In the end, he said that his supervisor was in a meeting so he couldn't go to them for advice on how to proceed. So based on his own judgement, he conducted both ROC and n400 interviews (Easy enough, didn't ask much. Just added in some travel I did since the time of submitting the form, and my son's details. Took English and civics tests as well).

He then told me he couldn't approve anything because of the ROC, and how the ROC system is very complicated to access. That was basically it.

I take it from his demeanor and reading between the lines that I was approved based on the interview, but he really didn't even tell me that. The sheet of paper he gave me regarding n400 said "a decision cannot be made at this time". This is obviously because he is unable to approve this with a pending ROC.

So now I wait for my case statuses to change. I hope it doesn't take too long, and he is able to approve the ROC! 

I'm an April 2017 CSC filer. I had applied for N-400, so my I-175 was put on hold while I waited in line at my local office.

My joint interview has been scheduled for November 28th.

So fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and I'm done with this entire USCIS journey soon.

Got my interview date! November 28th.

Unfortunately right in the middle of a trip I had booked to another state, but I guess I'll just have to come back for a day.

Time to start studying!

DHS portal has not been updated yet though. So not sure if my interview letter will be uploaded there over the next couple of days.

Just checked my status on "https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do" site and it says "Interview Scheduled"!!

YAY! My DHS portal still hasn't updated and says the old status, so not sure if I'll find out my interview date prior to actually getting the interview letter in the mail. 

But I'll update you all once I know!

It means your interview has been scheduled

The digital version of your letter will show up in your documents tab in a day or so, and the physical letter has already been mailed, so give that a week maybe.

just keep checking your online DHS account, you'll see the letter there soon!

And don't worry about other places showing an old case status, some sites are more up to date than others.

Congrats! They don't say anything about it, but it's almost always a joint interview. So prepare for both, and take your USC spouse with you.

I always thought that the local field office is the one who schedules the interview, so I'm not sure if I'm stuck in some backlog or if it'll just take a few weeks now that the case has been transferred to the right field office.

Oh actually I have heard that too. That NBC schedules interviews. So that's probably why the transfer was quick! I guess they schedule the interview and send your file to the relevant office when the time comes.

What is @tEe328cEe timeline ? I don't see this entry in our tracker ? What month/year has this applicant filed for ?

They recently posted an update regarding interview letter in the N-400 March 2018 Filers group. Based on that, they applied  3/1/18, did biometrics on  3/23/18, and have the interview scheduled for  10/15/18.

I would take their permission before adding them to the tracker, though.

Asked if I could be changed to SJ field office since I live here again and she made the change. Oh nice, good that you got some answers. And based on the notification it seems the transfer was nice and quick, too! Hopefully you are processed soon now. Did you ask the officer about whether you'll be at the back of the queue or processed according to date filed?

I have not heard anything yet. But based on @tEe328cEe's timeline, I am hoping to hear back in approximately a week or two max. In any case, I'll update you all here as soon as I get any notifications or letters.

Oh nice! That makes me so happy, I'm a San Jose filer too. I filed on March 27th, so hopefully I'm just a month away from getting my interview notice now 

Did you get the letter with the interview date yet?
