    Hi Kash2011,

    I just received email & text from uscis saying my n400 had been received. A notice will come via mail.

    Please update in chart. Hope filers from Houston or other offices will receive good news soon.

    P/s: I just don't know why they sent me text at mid night Sunday, uscis opens on weekend?

    I received the text and email with my receipt number included. I certainly believed they are system generated. Someone must have set them on friday to be send out at a certain time (t) sunday night and leading up to monday morning. Forgive me, i am a science student so i theorize about everything. Good luck. The letter should be in our mailboxes before weekend. :idea:

    Does the online case status tool show that we have been scheduled for Biometrics or is that something that is not reflected there?

    My case status is after over 2 weeks still only showing "case received".

    If you are awaiting biometric, you should wait for the letter in the mail unless is beyond the estimated window. At which time you would need to contact USCIS and find out why u have not received a biometric letter yet. I do not always rely on that online status stuff. It works well for some people and others, it does not. Don't worry, that letter will be in your mailbox soon. :dancing:

    Hi all,

    I'm married to a US Citizen and have been a permanent resident for 3 years in the US. I'm filling out the N400 form, however, I'm a bit confused, and need some guidance on Part 8. Time Outside the United States. It says, the total days I spent outside the United States during the last 5 years.

    Also #3 - Also, to list my trips outside of the United States during the last 5 years. Since I have only been here 3 years, should I even list the time I was in the Philippines and all my foreign trips even before I came to the United States? Or is the intent of this question focused on since when I became a permanent resident?

    What did you put in yours? Your replies are much appreciated.

    If you have not travelled outside the United States since u became a PR, you could choose to put zero days or N/A. Put zero days for mine. Hope it helps.

    My driving license expiring on end of March 2015. What do I do? wait for GC to arrive? or go ahead and renew with the letter I received. CA resident

    You need to renew your driver license now since you can. Some states do not even honor the extension letter. I remembered a guy going through that headache during his ROC process. ROC (I-751) is not a walk in the park. Unless you are with the CSC. This process could take up to 6 months or even more. So like someone previously advised you, renew your license now. Thanks

    Hello Friends,

    on September 16 2014 I applied for I -751 petition to remove conditions on green card and i am done with bio metric. i know it the process time is 6 months and i am very close to it . No RFE so far, my question is does anyone one knows estimation time that when i will be get my permanent green card.

    USCIS does not have any time frame but any one went through similar situation? and can i travel to india with extension notice? most people told me not to travel as there could be a problem on airport/immigration.

    The process could take up to a year. That is the reason you got a year of extension. The extension letter, your expired green card and passport is good for travel. No US immigration officer can prevent you from reentry. Mine took 9 months. After the 6-7 months window, you need to start putting in service requests and asking for update on your case. If you dont get it until you reach your 2yrs 9 months window, you can apply for citizenship based on being married to a US citizen. They will hasten your green card wish may not be relevant anymore since you will be working on your citizenship already. Hope this helps clarify some of your lingering thoughts. Thanks

    Does anyone else NOA says at the bottom "upon receipt of all required record checks you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office"? I thought i had to get a FP letter first? im confused?....

    Well maybe you are not due for another fingerprint. If you did an ROC, it could be that you fingerprints are still current and so they might just use that versus letting you do another one. It is just my educative guess. It has happened for one or two persons that i know. Thanks

    How can I escalate my case? I really want to know whats going on before Christmas

    To escalate your case, you first must calculate to know that your case is above the normal processing time (6 months) but in the case with USCIS they have their own timeline. So call customer service and try to do a service request letting them know your case is outside normal process time. They might be able to set it up if indeed it has passed USCIS processing limit. They will give u a reference number and u should receive an email in a day or two from your Service Center giving you an update as to what is the current status of your case. If you are not too impress with the response u get, do an INFOPASS and go to a local office and meet an immigration officer who might be able to better explain to you the nature of your case. Your other option is to just wait if you dont get your GC in time and the next window opens in March 2015, apply for Citizenship and they will fast track your GC. Good luck to you and the other folks.

    You have not been forgotten. I thought to check up on you and find out what is going on? Anything new on your case? Have u filed any new service request? Have u concluded to just wait till December and file for your Citizenship?

    So, I contacted USCIS yesterday and spoke to an immigration officer lady. After I gave her all the details, she put me on hold for about 10 minutes and then came back and let me know that the security check is still pending. She also told that technically they have till December to adjudicate my application. :(

    The only thing that I can do right now is to contact the senator. But I doubt whether that will be of any help, specially when the USICS is saying that the security check is pending. Guys, do you think that the security check could be expedited by contacting the senator?

    Waoo why Vermont is so slow? I call and they told me I required a interview what you guys think about it? They say if a note of interview in the system but I dint know how it work I call before take the biometric and the Type 2 oficcer told me it I don't eve ask her about it. And she told me it imformation I ask her when the interview is schedule she told me when I take the biometric is pass more of 1 months and I don't receive any interview apoiment letler

    You and your response represented evidence that you are married and have lived together as a couple. It is at the discretion of the person reviewing your case to determine whether the evidence presented is convincing to remove the condition on your Green Card. If they are not convince, you and your spouse will have to appear before an immigration officer to get interview and answer questions regarding your stay together. Oftentimes, your selection for interview may just be a routine protocol. So when u get the letter, you and spouse have to prepare and if you have additional information you believe that might help with you case, take those information including all other documents you have previously submitted. I am sure it is going to be a walk in the park if but parties are still married and live together. You only hurdle is going to be, if the other party refused to go or you guys are not married anymore and u lied about it.. Good luck!!!

    So I went to bed all frustrated last night after reading all the updates here. Couldn't help being sad. However, this morning husband sends me an email with a screenshot of our case status that says this:

    On August 27, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

    I hope it means - this is it!!

    Before I get too excited I wanted to s hare this with you guys.

    I am so so sorry to hear this. I personally think, your option includes, 1. Waiting till your window opens for citizenship or your contact your state representative to inquire about your case...It is really frustrating....Hopefully u hear something soon..

    I received my green card today :dancing: but USCIS made an error with my Country of Birth and put it down as French Polynesia instead of Australia. Really weird because I only just got back from a trip to Tahiti a few weeks ago but I see no way that it could be any more than just a coincidence. I wish FP was my country of birth, such a beautiful place haha!

    So looks like I'll only have physical card for a few days before I send it back with an I-90 and wait however many more months before the corrected card arrives! I foresee this delaying my planned N-400 application in January :crying:

    Make copies of both sides of your new card and keep it. When you send your new card back for correction, atleast you will have those to put in your N-400 application. Once you window opens, you should apply for your citizenship. A delay of the corrected card should not stall your N-400 process. Good luck.

    This is frustrating! I checked the status if ny case, it is still showing " initial review". I've sent my package on Feb, they received it on Feb 4th, but nothing yet. I can see here many cases sent in February have been aporoved. Should I call uscis or infopass to see what is going on?

    Have you tried doing a service request on your case. I think judging from my experince, your case is still in the normal processing time. You can talked to a customer service representative and see if you can talk to a 2nd tier concerning your case. I bet they might tell you that they are dealing with february first or 2nd cases. You will get your approval letter very soon... Just be a little patient. I filed in December. My case was approved 08/02 and i got my card yesterday. So mine was nearly 9 months. NO RFE whatsoever but patience is a virtue. In short, your only option is to keep calling them and doing a service request... Good luck!!
