Don't beat yourself up about it. Many of us (including me) have made the same mistake. It is a tricky question that I feel needs to be reviewed in how it is worded. Even some people who have hired lawyers have gotten checklisted for the same thing.
Best thing is dust yourself off, send the correction and work on a hobby while you wait for a CC. I trained for and ran my first 5k after my checklist. Do something positive for yourself to pass the time and it will be over before you know it.

So sorry to hear this. I hope he has a speedy recovery. The same thing happened to us, my husbands visa was delayed at NVC and during this time his mum had a heart attack. The universe works in mysterious ways and I believe he was meant to be here longer than he planned to take care of her.

YES!! Seattle VJ reunion in the new year. Please wait for me, we should be there by end of Jan. House goes on the market next week, so fingers crossed for an easy sale and we will be ready to go after Christmas. We will wait to fly until after 15th Jan, as flights are almost half the price after the peak Christmas/holiday season.

I had a similar thing happen recently at a party. I bumped into someone I haven't seen in about a year and she said "You're back!!!!" and I said "Actually, we haven't left yet."

VISA IN HAND!!! I am so incredibly happy and relieved to be done with all of this.
Very impressed with Sydney consulate for how quickly they processed the visa after the interview. It was posted Express and in our hands 48 hours after interview.
Wishing you all a speedy journey through interview and POE. I will be reading along and cheering along for you all.

So happy to report VISA APPROVED!!!!
Hubby was in and out in under and hour. He said the lady working at window 7 was a little intimidating as he overheard the people in front of him getting grilled. He was hoping to get another window, but when they called him up "Window 7" ha ha. He said he was sh*tting himself. But, then he tamed the tiger and got approved. It was all very anticlimactic and he wasn't told specifically that he was approved, but she told him all about what would happen with putting the visa in the passport and receiving it in about a week. So, he called me after and said "I think we got approved" and I a was like "What do you mean THINK" I said as long as they didn't ask you to send anything further and told you they are posting the passport with the visa in it we are approved. I think he was expecting to walk out of there with a piece of paper stamped APPROVED or something.
Funny, in the end we never got asked for a joint sponsor even though my job is not continuing in the States. I had my sister fill everything out in case, but it wasn't needed. However, I did send hubby with a house valuation, bank account info etc. to prove we can provide for ourselves.

Thanks MoBar65! I think it would be possible, but we are at the mercy of the real estate gods now as we have to sell our house. The market in our area is good and it is Spring here in Australia, so the yard is looking lovely. I don't think we will have too much trouble with a sale.
I think we are going to plan to stay for one last Christmas to say goodbye to family and friends here and enjoy some warm weather before heading to winter in the Pacific Northwest in the new year. So bittersweet that we have to leave people we love to go be with other people that we love. Such is life of an international couple!
Now that the visa is approved it finally seems real and it is sinking in that I will be leaving my home for the past 12 years and all of the friends that I have made here. But, then I remember I am going to be reunited with the friends I left behind and start a new adventure. How fortunate I am to have been able to live in 2 such wonderful countries when a lot of people I know have never left the small town we grew up in.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers! It worked and they found another plane to put them on and they are boarding now. He should still have time for a coffee before the appointment. Phew!! Not what I needed this morning when I am already stressing. Let's hope all goes smoothly for the next 3 hours and he gets approval.

What a wonderful way to start my day! Reading all of these interview dates!! So excited for my VJ family who are slowly getting through this. Lovely to see lots of dates before Thanksgiving. What a reason to give thanks this year!!!
As for us, we are T-3 days to interview. It's my husband that has to go, but my nerves are going crazy! I have butterflies in my tummy every time I think of it! I have "the folder" out to have another good look through to make sure everything is there. I have a feeling they either won't ask him for any of it, or he won't know where to find what they ask for.
I just have to trust everything will work out and he will hopefully hear the magic word "Approved" in a few days. I intend on announcing it at work the next day with some cupcakes with American flags in them. (I have been keeping this move a secret from everyone at work for 16 months and can't wait to spill the beans!)

Not yet. Interview is next week on the 7th October. All things going well and getting approval, we will then put the house on the market, resign from work and start packing! We plan to spend one last Christmas in Oz with hubby's family and start the new year in Washington State.

That is so difficult! I can understand it is hard to let over Christmas holidays, hence your landlord wanting you to commit to end of Jan. I think if you get a CC end of Oct you would get a December interview, but with NVC changing their interview scheduling it is all a little mysterious at the moment (people with CC from 10 Sept still haven't got a date) and I don't think it's clear how that is going to pan out with so many people waiting for interviews and only a limited amount of spaces.
Also if you look on the Consulate website, there is an update that visa appts in Nov are going to be disrupted by the G20 Summit in Brisbane, which could lead to a backlog. (However it links to the Canberra site and also states they will prioritise immigrant visas, so it might be ok)
    http://canberra.usembassy.gov/visas/disruptions-to-visa-appointments-2014.html
If I were you, I would bite the bullet and pay through Jan just to be safe.

What the heck is going on NVC? I was confident I would log-in and read about Soloenta's cc and AustinCanada & Stackeria's interview dates.
How can NVC continue to disappoint me after I have left there?!
Good news for us is my hubby was able go to the doctor's office and track down his medical results. Took them 12 business days when they quoted 5-7. We barely got them in time for him to leave for his interview. 5 days until his interview and I am surprisingly calm. I only look through "the folder" once a day and go over the paperwork to make sure it is all there. I hope my OCD will pay off and he will have everything he needs on the day since I won't be going with him.

I haven't been on here much recently, so expected to log in and see a whole bunch of people get their inteview dates. What the heck? What are you doing NVC?!
My bad luck continues even though I finally escaped NVC. My hubby had his medical on 15th Sept and the doc said 5-7 working days to receive the results in the mail. Still nothing and his interview is next Tuesday. I am stressing! I have emailed and called the doctors office and they keep saying they will speak to the doctor and call me back and then nobody does. I hope the results are not missing. I was told they have not yet been posted, so that gives me hope if they find them they will let us pick them up. I can't bear the stress of them posting them now and possibly not getting them in time since there are only 4 more mail delivery days until he leaves for his interview. Why does everything have to cause me more grey hair????
