  1. Hello VJ members,

I need some clarification regarding the scheduling of my fiancée visa interview schedule. I have received a packet 3 instruction from the fiancée embassy in Dakar Senegal saying we have to apply DS160 online and schedule for interview which we did. We contacted the visa scheduling center and they created her account but they said there is no appointment date available now let's keep checking with them in few days, this was as of this past Monday October 20. I have been checking with them since then but they keep telling me the same thing no appointment date available. The visa scheduling center said I have to make payment of the visa application fee with them online but as it stands, I cannot make payment because no appointment date is available. The instruction the Dakar embassy emailed me said my fiancée has to make the payment at the Consulate Cashier on her interview date. I am so confused I need some advice.

  2. Dear VJ members,

My fiancée and I are getting ready for her interview at the Embassy but we are having questions on how to file DS 160, DS156 and DS156K.

Here is our scenario, my fiancée and I have 2 kids, one is applying with her as a K2 and the other is not because she is having a CRBA and a U.S. passport. My question is do we have to write both of their names on the application forms as accompanying my fiancée to the states or only the name of the one applying as K2. I don't want to creat any confusion as our second child is not applying for K visa because of her CRBA and US passport and I don't want to put her name on the form as accompanying her but both of them will accompany her to the U.S. Any suggestions or clarifications are welcome.

  3. My NOA2 was approved on September 12th too and I was told the same thing when I called NVC. My file arrived at the NVC on October 1st and I was issued my case number but it is still stuck at the NVC and not yet send to the embassy in Senegal. Anytime I check on it says it's at NVC. Call them everyday you will shortly receive your case number. Wish u good luck.

  4. Congratulations, am in the same situation with you. Got my case number from NVC on October 2nd and contacted the embassy but they said they haven't recieved my file yet. You have to wait the NVC to send you package to the a Embassy then contact the embassy for packet 3 and interview schedule. I checked my case at NVC using the CEAC tracker but still says its at NVC and not yet send to the embassy. I hope this info helps

  5. Call NVC tomorrow, yours might be there too. I called USCIS this afternoon and the tier 2 lady told me my file was not send to NVC yet. she said it should take 30- 60 days but surprisingly I called NVC and I was told they received it today and got my case number, so don't go with what USCIS said I don't think some of them have a clue of what's going on. Wish you good luck though

  6. I called NVC earlier today and I was on hold for about 30 mins but didn't have the patience of waiting. All you have to do is keep calling 10 - 15 times, you will get through but have to wait for a long time to talk to them. I called USCIS though today but they told me my case is not yet send to NVC and that I could take 30-60 days before NVC receives it which sounds crazy. I can't wait though. I will try NVC later today before they close , I will keep u posted. If you have any update too from them plz let me know.
