britishinfusion reacted to Ketsuban in Green card production after ELIS
I updated my address on ELIS in the hopes that it might trigger something. I guess I can at least be thankful the status changed to "Optimized" so I'm safe knowing my immigration package made it to Texas.
the NCSC forwarded a message I sent to TSC on 1/28 and I've yet to hear anything. I'm not starting on the phone calls until it's been three months since POE because I absolutely loathe using phones. I can never hear what the other person is saying!

You can update the address without adding a photo of your passport. To be honest, I'm not sure how I did it, but I did. Likely I backed up when it was like "hey add the picture" because I was like "uhm.. no?"

Did you mean your payment was accepted. I had the same until case was optimized. When checking case status It used to say case number was not found. I just checked today and it says USCIS lockbox has accepted your case. My case file was received on Jan 13 and status was updated to optimized on Jan 23. I
You only have to pay the fee. I did check with USCIS and the answer was your card will be mailed to the address on the visa packet.

WOW I'm really sorry to hear all that, what a total joke... I spent another 3 hours waiting at SS to correct the mistake that THEY made, and had to pay for a taxi as the office is so far away and it was snowing buckets. SO I know the feeling a little bit!

Thanks Darnell! I also thought that it still could be in Dublin at POE.
Thanks for the extra tips and I will keep everyone updated.
Cheers!

it's possible that it's still at the POE, or lost at the POE (but findable again at the POE), as
at the POE, is this back-room data-entry operation - lots of folk no one ever sees.
If you can ask yer congress critter to focus on CBP at the POE, it's quite possible the CBP goons will find it, and quickly, then get it moving along to TSC.
Go Get Em, and Good Luck !
[ps - the movement that USCIS described is the movement I've written about prior, so that's a plus]

OK after a horrible weekend, I woke up today and decided to make a move, It was a gut feeling but I tried anyway. Too many people receiving their cards and mine stuck without any sign of moving. I called the National Service Centre and decided to try the "call back feature" which should have been 50 minutes. Well they did call back but as I answered the phone the officer just hung up. . So I called back and decided to wait, only to be told my wait was 120 minutes. 2 Freaking hours!!! REALLY!! .
To hell with THAT. Time for the big guns!!!
I called my local Congressman. They asked me to download a form and fill it out, then email it to them. I kid you not!! They called back in 13minutes and said they would look into it. Told them thank you, went to take a shower and dripping wet the phone rang. Said they spoke to the Service centre who will look into it.
So now for the good part.... 58 minutes later email received.
CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!!!
Why did it have to take all that effort. Congressman office said the service centre said file looked okay, then why so long??
My personal shout out to the office of Congressman Alcee Hastings. You guys rock

I finally received my card last week, yay!
I contacted USCIS through their website https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/contactusand they replied within 1-2 days. Apparently TSC had some issues and that's why my card production was delayed.

was there a spot to upload a passport bio page? I can't recall, atm.
or data entry page to enter a passport # or A# ?
Thanks so much for going through with this experiment. I'm all for shaving time, on each and every bit of this @#$@ing process. So far, I've written 'shave time' wikis on P3 for Guangzhou for K-1 visa chasers, and EP for Guangzhou at NVC for CR-1 visa chasers, plus a societal/psycho-thriller-drama on my SSN howto in the SSN sub-forum. I likes shaving time...

You can't track it until it's at least optimized and sometimes not until card produced.

It means they finally put your case with your payment. Normally it's only a 1-2 weeks away from getting your green card produced.
-
britishinfusion reacted to NikLR in Green card production after ELIS
once it hits card produced you should get it within a week.
Until then it can take anywhere from 1-6 months. But normally between 1 and 3. I have not seen it faster than 3 weeks and the average is 6 I think.

Gosh - I sure was harsh yesterday ! Deepest Apologies ! Last night I was a 'tardo, and it shows !
Usually, if you study posts in this topic, you can get some idea of the pattern and timing on all of the ELIS / CRIS bits. POE event is usually the first trigger, but there's a queue for stuff getting logged.
If you read the posts here, people start compiling their own data for you to read. If you guys keep posting your data as it happens, other readers can see the patterns.
Mostly, we've all been studying this, noting lag during some quarters, with speed on other quarters. I wish ELIS would be consistent with it's approach on this, seems they never are; and changed out their IT systems several times in some effort to reduce the lag and errors and problems.
Good Luck with this portion, and God Speed !

What a horrible response to an innocent and just question. Are you drunk or just rude? -
britishinfusion reacted to Darnell in Green card production after ELIS
do you understand the timeticks required with ELIS to get a greencard, holding a CR-1 or IR-1 visa? yes? no?
I ask, because you posit'd 'Does anyone have any idea on when we'll get his Green Card?'
If you are visiting this web portal on a cell phone, tablet, I ask (no, seriously) that you turn it off, remove the battery,
and visit this topic again on a personal computer (Windows or MAC) and read all of the posts here in this topic.
Can you? Will You? Should You? (my answer is yes)
Handphones suck, for real answers for real problems.
On a pc, knowledge acquisition on this 'topic' can be had within 2 hours. I ask you, invite you, to use a PC, now, nowish.

Can take 1-3 months from POE or payment, whichever is later, which is the POE in your case.
He's only been here for less than 10 days. Don't worry.
-
britishinfusion reacted to Ketsuban in How did you transport the package for your POE
What I ended up doing was putting it in a supermarket carrier bag, tying that in a double knot, then putting that inside another carrier bag and tying that shut. It added some protection from my various cables and gadgets taking up all the other space in my bag.

I received my green card yesterday!!
All information was present and correct. It was 4 weeks to the day of my entry into the US! So it took LESS than a month from POE for me to get SSN and GC.

Just casually (anally) checking my ceac status and noticed it updated today. Wouldn't it have been lovely if we could have known someone was working on our case at Uscis and nvc.

Sorry off the subject @hotter otter but I have to tell you that I checked out your blog and it's fantastic. I have saved the link for my husband to read and keep up with when he arrives. It's good that he can read about other Brit's living here in the USA. Thank you!
