  2. Hello!

I'm moving in two days to a different state, but as I think I might be moving to a different apartment after three months of my arrival I thought it would be wise to get a PO box and have all my mail delivered there as I don't want anything missing.

I've read people putting their PO boxes while filling AR-11 because it doesn't have the option for physical address and mailing address.

Should I do that? I want my mail to come in the PO box.

  3. I would complete the on-line change of address and file the I-865 and not reschedule the interview if you can fly to FL and still have access to the mail at the old address. Less change of USCIS screwing up the address change and rescheduling the interview and denying the AOS due to not showing up at the currently scheduled interview.

    Good luck,

    Dave

But I read that when you change your address they will re-schedule your interview. Plus the state you're living in at the present has jurisdiction over your case now. What do you know about this?

  4. You go on-line and complete the AR-11 and also must notify the USCIS about the pending application. The USC petitioner must complete the I-865 until the I-864 is no longer enforceable. Make certain to reschedule the interview by following the instructions on your NOA1. Given the problems others have had in changing their addresses with a pending AOS interview and not going to the scheduled interview and then having USCIS deny their AOS due to abandonment for not showing up at the interview, I would see if it is at all possible to go to the currently scheduled interview and then change your address.

    Good luck,

    Dave

Can I change my address without having to re schedule my interview? I could fly to FL again for the interview and then have someone mail my green card to me.

  5. Sure. Just changing your address won't mean they reschedule and move your interview, but you can wait until after the interview to change it. Usually if you move and want to change the interview, you have to change your address AND request the interview be moved (USCIS isn't big into "automatic" anything), so if you still want to go to the original interview time/place you can do that regardless of whether or not you change your address.

Oh okay! I'm not sure where I read that when you move, the state you live in now has jurisdiction over your case.

So I'll change my address then and assist to this interview.

  6. Hello!!

I'm in line to be scheduled for an interview but it happens we're moving to new york in 2 weeks. How do I change the address or reschedule the interview for the new state I'm gonna be living in? (if it's already scheduled by when I move).

I know there's the online tool, but then I've been reading people mentioning AR-11's and a change of address for the I-864 too? I don't have a confirmation number for the I-864 as it's supplemental with I-485..

I'm lost. Any help will be appreciated!

    Thank you :goofy:

  7. So I went today to my SSA office to apply for my SSN. The guy told me that as today was the 10th day since my EAD was approved, he couldn't approve my SSN in the spot so the letter he gave me says that they need to verify the documents and it can take up to 4 weeks.

Anyone in the same situation? If so, how long will it take for me to receive my ssn card?

  8. i recived 7/25 same :

The status of this service request is:

Documentation submitted meets the requirements for expedite processing of your application/petition. Your case is currently under review. You will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly.

and still nothing... i should call and talk with 2 officer ? or wait ?

If you don't receive an update by Friday then call. Maybe they sent it too but didn't update your case? Don't rely on the online status

  9. You can always apply for jobs, no permission needed. The issue is that you can't start work without work permission. You'll need the physical EAD to start work, but there is nothing stopping you from applying now. Good luck!

Edit: BTW, no one should ask you for your work status until you get offered a job and fill out paperwork. No one should be checking you for authorization before you are hired. That is illegal.

I didn't know this! Thank you very much Harpa, useful information.

  10. While waiting I would get tax transcripts from the IRS for all those sponsoring on the I-864 (or I-864A). A tax transcript is a COMPLETE tax return and shows what the IRS accepted--very hard to fake so it is much better evidence than a copy of the tax return and supporting documents. That way you will have a complete tax return to submit should they send another RFE.

    Dave

We already ordered the transcripts from the IRS. I'm just waiting to receive an answer if they really need it or not.

I'm very curious when I saw the RFE that they sent to the congressman, it was pink and had a date of july 10th and it said like in a background watermark DO NOT SEND.

    That's very odd

In addition to the transcripts do you think we should file a I-864A for her spouse?
