Well a foreigner did deny me my admission. I showed him my us passport and he screamed at me.

Update:
June 27- ISSUED
That only means that they worked on a weekend. Us Embassy Manila are trying to clear up thw backlog. I know someone that had an AP and now changed to READY
Goodluck to everybody!
We've been in AP since April 25th. I doubt our embassy was working this weekend. Also the Turkish post office is closed on weekends. Hopefully tomorrow.

In Turkey, I wasn't allowed. I tried talking to the Turkish rentacop outside but he wouldn't even listen and just laughed at me.
-
Isn't that why you were supposed to show your income level and get a co sponsor? So you don't end up going on public assistance?
-
Lucky, my interview was on April 27th. We got a 221g and ended up having to send our documents a month later. They started looking at them on June 10th and we were in AP. On June 24th we got a new CC date and our status went to ready and changed to non immigrant visa. Now since the 25th it is back to AP: Why can't they just print it?!?!?!?!! NVC said it was approved.
-
Make sure your embassy allows you to even go in. I went with my fiance and there was a big sign outside saying US Citizens may not accompany their relatives to their inteviews. I tried to get the security guard to let me go in with my man and he just laughed at me. I ended up having to sit across the street.

There are 2 ways to delay after petition approval:
- The NOA2 (petition approval) can be extended up to one year
- The visa once issued will typically be valid for 6 months from the date of the medical exam
I disagree. I sent my petition on April 3 of 2014 and my wife came here on July 25, 2014...a little under 4 months total time.
How on earth do you get your visas so quickly? It has taken us 9 months. It isn't fair.
-
No we were never told to look for our case number on the website. That is only for those who got security checks AP: We were just told to send it when we had the missing documents.
-
Oh! Some one from Turkey! This is great! Thanks for commenting
I have a lot of questions.
1. Correct me if I'm wrong. You waited from April 27 till June 9 because you're documents were missing right ?
2. On June 24 you're status changed to ready. Your case number starts with ANK2015... Right? If your case is ready, your case number must show up in the link you sent to me ? But I check it everyday. That list was last updated in June 15 and non of case numbers start with ANK2015...
3. What do you mean by we also went from immigrant to non immigrant? Is that how it works?
Yeah we are in AP now. They told me to keep my passport until they contact me. I keep checking that link, but my case number is not there. Last year I went to states with a tourist visa. I think my clearance check would be shorter than normal. However it may be different this time.
I'm Iranian. I also read that the process for Iranians would take longer. We have to wait anyways.
Thanks again.
Please let me know if you get something. I'll be very appreciated. I'll do the same.
Good luck
1. It was because of missing documents. We finally recieved his police report in early June and we sent it in and they processed it starting June 9.
2. Our case number starts with ANK2014. I think that web page is for those who are under security AP because ours went to ready on CEAC. We were not told to wait or anything, just to send it in.
3. K-1's are a bit odd. They are processed as immigrant visas but issued and printed as non-immigrant because they don't automatically provide green cards. So when a K-1 is finished processing it becomes a non immigrant visa while it gets printed and issued.
I heard Iranians have a harder time then Turks. The process is awful but just hang in there. It will end soon. Good luck!

Your questions got cut off so I can't see what they are. If you mean did we wait to send the passport until we were told to by the embassy?
Our answer is no. We were told to send the passport and his police clearence when we recieved it. There was an option on the piece of paper they gave us talking about security related AP and saying to wait until the embassy contacts you to send the passport but it wasn't checked off in our case.
-
Yes they can't automatically issue it. They have to do basic security checks, print it out, stamp it, put it in your passport. It will take a few days.

I basically did tell him to F*** off inTurkish. I am a legal resident here and I speak Turkish pretty fluently. Seriously MY fiance is in MY country's embassy and I just want to be closer to the gate to see when he comes out. Also I once had to go to the US consulate in Istanbul to get a notarized document once and I was IDed 3 times at least before getting into the consular section. My own embassy treats me like #######.

All cases go into AP while they process and print the visa.
-
You can attend the interview in Manila? In Ankara, there is a huge sign saying Family Members may not accompany their beneficiaries to the interview. I had to wait accross the street and one time I got yelled at by the police outside for getting too near the gate.
-
Here in Turkey we are going on 9 months and 1 of those months was waiting for a police clearence to arrive so we could send it in with his passport after a 221g interview. Our CEAC status went from AP on June 10th, to ready with a new cc and a change from immigrant to immigrant on the 24th and to AP again yesterday so I hope that means we get our visa. A guy at NVC told me we got it but CEAC doesn't say issued. Why is Turkey so much slower?
-
Kind of off topic but you are so lucky to live in Izmir! I am from the US and I lived in Izmir for 10 months in 2012 and 2013 and I miss it so much!
-
We got a 221g denial for a missing police clearence, however my fiance has never been arrested or in trouble with the law. We had our interview on April 27th but unlike you we didn't send the clearence and passport until June 2 or 3 because the clearence took a long time to get to us. They started processing us on June 9th and again on June 10th showing our CEAC statuses as AP. However due to the technical problem our case got held up because they couldn't print visas. They started processing us again on the 24th (a day after Ankara started working again) and changed our CC date from December 8th, 2014 to June 24th, 2015. Our status was also changed to ready and the visa went from immigrant to non immigrant. Now as of April 25th we are in AP again, but I heard that just means the visa is being printed but I am not sure.

As I understand it, you have not started the petition process yet. So yes you could delay doing that.
OR. Your could start the petition process, then once approved and the case file has moved to Manila you could drag feet for ALMOST a year before starting the actual visa application.. ALMOST a year. The embassy will extend the petition validity for up to a year. Then you still have up to 6 months more (from the date of the medical before your fiancee needs to be in the USA.

It could go really quickly too. I just heard about a K-1 couple in the Philippines that sent their 129-F on January 6th of 2015 and on April 1st, the beneficiary made her POE into the US. However I almost POSITIVE that this couple is not the norm and if I remember both people were of Philipino ethnicity, which is usually not the case with K-1s

We had 221g administrative processing in Ankara. My Turkish fiance had his interview on April 27 and was missing his police certificate. We ended up finally recieving the thing at the beginning of June and sent it with our passport like the CO asked us to. They started processing us on June 9th. On the 10th CEAC still said AP. Due to the technical problem we were in AP until the 24th when our status changed to ready and got a new cc date. We also went from immigrant to non immigrant. As of yesterday we are on AP again, which I heard means they are printing our visa but the embassy and CEAC won't give us any direct information.
I think you guys are on the security checks AP right? You were told to keep your passport until they contacted you? You can check here if your case number shows up. http://www.usemb-ankara.org.tr/consular/english/immigrant_admin_processing.html
Also are you guys from Turkey or Iran? I have heard that you are more likely to get AP if you are from Iran. -

I use us visa info.

Yeah, I assume so. If it were refused, they would have changed the status to refused and not gone those extra steps. I just called the embassy and the guy wouldn't transfer me. I have to email. I don't want to email and wait a few more days for a response. I just want someone to check if my visa is being sent out. How hard is that to check? Embassies make me so mad!
-
But going through all these status updates, AP to ready, new CC date conversion to niv visa, back to AP, that means an approval right? If it were refused they wouldn't bother doing all of these steps right?
CEAC status changed from AP to Ready and CC date has changed. Good sign?

I am getting scared. I just want my fiance to come!
