Check out my signature. You will find us in exactly in the same boat as you. I feel ready to tear my hair out (or maybe someone else'). It's not like I want us to be approved tomorrow, I'd just like to know that my husband's file isn't rotting somewhere. Do me a favor and let me know if you get any touches or hear anything else, and I will do the same. Good luck!

Any idea when the EAD should arrive- can we use that to get a Drivers License. The DL does not require a current passport so can we hold off until we get that- that is a priority.
I can only reply to this part of the question. Our lawyer from the the K1 process told us that once we get the EAD, this will be sufficient to present at the DMV to get the driver's license. Good luck.

Make sure you end ties with his home country especially if he is from Canada! Some countries can come later with large tax bills. It can effect both of you.
End ties? What exactly does that mean?

Rebecclajo, is there an amount that he must make before he has to claim any foreign income for 2006? He was only employed as a tutor part-time in Jan-Feb 06, so we're probably talking about less than $100 worth of income.
-
My husband has been here in the U.S. as my dependent since May 2006. He has not been employed at all during this time. How am I supposed to file? Thanks for any help.
-
Yes, please...someone tell us how to do that.
-
I am seeing this in some people's timelines. What is this?
-
You can add my husband's case to the list of people out there in no man's land for the past several weeks. I think I would feel better if we had any touches, but we got nothin'. It's also frustrating since another K1er that I talk to here in VJ with the same DO filed right before us, got transferred to CSC and approved with lightening speed.....but we just continue to wait.
-
*sigh*
I am trying really really hard to understand this. We have been patient. Really though, I am not complaining or griping. I just don't understand how some people are getting approved so quickly from NOA1 to approval, even *with* RFE's. Sometimes I wonder if this is what's making things so hard for Joel to find a job, not having the GC. Lemme tell ya, we live in the backwoods of nowhere and I don't think anyone here knows how to research anything about employing immigrants who are legally able to work. *sigh*
OK...maybe this was a bit of a rant.
KarenCee, I know how you feel. Though our case hasn't been transferred to the CSC, we have been hoping it wouls since we are adjusting from a K1 and have a back-logged DO. But we haven't had any touches at all since last month....I don't think anyone is doing anything with our case. I know that other people have been waiting for a long, LONG time, but that just makes us all the more nervous....

As long as you are already married you can relax--you don't have to file for AOS before the expiration date on her visa. It expired once you were married anyway.
-
You can see our info in my signature. No touches since 12/13.
-
Well, if they are satisfied, they will send you a notice saying they are. So you won't be in the dark long.
Satisfied by the RFE?
-
We haven't been touched since 13 Dec.-- two days before my husband's biometrics.
-
Is it true (as I was told) that having an RFE actually speeds up the processing of one's application? If so, we wouldn't have worked so damned hard to avoid having one! I'm sorry, but that's just crazy.
-
Does it reflect in the online case status when your application is sent to your DO? Or does it continue saying MSC until all processing is complete?
-
My God, I feel completely sickened by the stories of the families on this website. I hope that everyone who has recently received their GCs so expeditiously fully appreciates the Hell that they have managed to escape.
More than ever I am starting to understand how rebeccajo and others must feel.
-
It certainly wouldn't hurt. We did it. We wanted to do everything in our power to avoid an RFE. Some people have been asked for them, though it isn't considered mandatory. I would say better safe than sorry.
-
Yeah, I kinda figured it was wishful thinking. I guess we'll just keep waiting.
-
We think that there is a strong chance that we will get a CSC transfer...we seem to fit the criteria. So, we may not be waiting months for an interview. But I guess we could be waiting months for the name check once it gets to the CSC.
-
If you receive your biometrics appointment letter but did not yet receive any RFEs, does this mean that none are forthcoming? I really hope so....

We also had no DS-3025. We simply took my husband's original vaccination records to the civil surgeon. She had plenty of documentation to help her translate it. She was able to fill out the I-693 without the DS-3025, as I learned here months ago many civil surgeons will do. Just try to find a nice and reasonable one. And be sure to mention when you make the appointment that you do NOT need the full medical.. It's always better to say this in advance. Good Luck!

Hello all,
I have heard that the FBI name checks for AOS applicants from Russia seem to take a long time. Can some of those who have been approved share their experiences? We are currently in the midst of the AOS process. Thanks!
-
Elena wasn't asking what is needed for the I-130. She was asking what is needed for AOS, and photos or biographic info for the USC is not needed for AOS.
-
Hi Elena,
You do not need passport photos or the biographic information for the USC spouse. I would just include a copy of your passport or birth certificate.
Is this possible?

My husband called the FBI info line today to confirm if and when his biometrics were received and returned, and the representative told him they were received and returned on the same date that he had them taken. Is this possible? I guess so, if it's all done by computer, but that seems unusually efficient for the government, wouldn't you say? I just wonder because he said that she answered him at practically the same moment that he finished telling her his A-number.
