  1. Hi all,

I submitted the I-129F form back in December and received the first email a few weeks after saying that they had received the forms, which I am assuming is the first NOA.

I moved the first of this month and life has been a little hectic these past few weeks, I checked today the status of the case and I see the status has changed to

On June 3, 2015, we sent your case, Receipt Number SRC1*******, to the Department of State for visa processing. Please visit our website for general information on Consular Processing.

Can someone confirm or maybe a better question would be, how can I know if this is my NOA2?

I have not received anything on mail, since I recently moved. I changed my mailing address just today, I know I should have done it sooner.

If this is my NOA2 is there anything else besides the forms described in the below link?

    Thanks for any help.. :)

  2. Hi,

I sent in my I-129F (K1 visa application), I received the confirmation email with the case number on December 1 2014, however I never received the written verification. I called them and made sure they had the correct address, and they verified.

My question is, it is a little over two months, and I have not heard anything, how long is it normal for the second NOA?

Is there anything I or my fiance should be preparing, forms, legal papers.. etc?

    Thanks for any guidance!

    She is in Ecuador.

  3. Thank you Dohan, I am following the guide lines in the link you provided. However I have some doubts, especially regarding the kind of photos I have chosen and also about question 34.a

    1) I have chosen the majority of the photos where only she and I appear in the pictures, out of 20 only two are with other people.

    2) Not sure how detailed the answer of queston 34a should be and what I should include, I don't really have any receipts as far as hotels, or itinerary I don't have anything along those lines, because we use my or her family's house.

    3) Her house address does not have a number only a street, will this be a problem?

    Thanks again.

  4. Hi all,

I am almost done with my package for submission for K1 application. I am a little nervous, about having the proper information. My question is, should I have my application reviewed by an attorney? if so, how much could I expect to pay for this service?

Or is there a way to have someone review my paperwork, before sending it in? I rather avoid a mistake that would hurt my chances of getting approved.

Thanks for any suggestions or info beforehand.

  5. Hello,

My fiance has her documentation from her country as FirstName MiddleName PaternalLastName MaternalLastName, passport, country id. Do I need to use the same format when filling out the letter of intent or other documents?

Also, she signs only with her first name in both these documents, can she sign the same way or does she has to sign like a standard signature FirstName Lastname?

    Thanks for any help..

  6. Hello,

I am in the beginning stages of applying for a K1 visa for my fiance. I have plane tickets, passports with stamps in and out of the country, pictures of her and I, but the problem is that we mainly use skype as a way of communication.

How can I prove our relationship without any chat, emails, letters, cell phone bills, if we don't use any of it to communicate?

    Thank you for any help.

  7. Thanks all for the responses, it is great to get this kind of feedback from people that have been through this process or are going through it. I guess my case is somewhat unique, and I have been feeling lost at times.

I definitely have plans to marry the mother of my son if I decide to start the K1 petition form and do everything according to the rules, if the relationship really doesn't work out I guess we'll cross that bridged when the time comes.

KayDeeCee, great insight, puts a lot of things in perspective and the possibility of making this happen.

How difficult is it to start the process? besides the great info in this page, does anybody have any advice as far as doing this by myself or should I just get a lawyer?

    Thank you!

  8. Hello,

I had a kid with a foreign person and long story short, I love with my son, but we fight with his mother all the time. I want to bring him here so I can be part of his life, but his mother would have to come with him to take care of him and because I'm afraid if I bring him here alone, he might get sick from not seeing his mother.

My idea is to apply for K1 visa for her, but I'm not sure if I'm making the biggest mistake of my life yet again. So, my question is, wiilll the people at the interview figure out that we can barely stand each other? I mean we don't have a wedding ring, or any kind of excitement towards getting married, I am just basically doing this so I can be with my kid.

    Any thoughts, comments, advice??

    Thanks!

  9. Hello all,

I'm trying to determine what course of action I should take. I was unemployed until recently, so I have no proof of income for the past 3 years. I would like to apply for a K1 visa for my fiance, but not sure it would be wise to do so at the moment, because they would ask for the affivavid of support at the embasy, and I'm not sure if the fact that I have a job now will suffice??

The other option is to apply for a non immigrant visa which would allow her to come visit with my kid. I do have a child with her that I registered as my son, not sure if this would help the K1 visa process.

In any event, I'm looking for advice on how to proceed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
