  1. Hi guys,

My husband petitioned his parents to come to the US and we just received a date for the interview. I was wondering if anyone who underwent an interview recently could answer a few questions for me.
When we submitted all required documents to NVC, everything was just scanned into their system. My question is regarding the Affidavit of Support.
Since it has a signature on it, do I have to mail the original form to my in laws to bring to their interview? Or will the scanned copy do?

Also, if anyone could share what documents they brought to the interview, that would be really helpful.

Thanks a lot for your time!! 😃

    @esorielirol

Do you mind sharing the list of documents and civil documents you sent in your original IV and AOS packages to the NVC? Thanks!

    Civil Documents

    Parent's Birth Certificate

    Parent's Marriage Certificate

    Parent's Police Clearance
    Parent's Passport Biographic Page
    Petitioner's Birth Certificate
    Family Photo

    AOS Documents

    I 864
    ITR 2015, 2016, 2017

    I 864A

    Marriage Certificate
Spouse's Passport (as proof of US Citizenship)
Spouse's US Driver's License (as proof of US Domicile)

As of today, everything has been accepted except for the i-864A and Proof of Relationship between Sponsor and Household member. It still says "submitted" on the website. Anyone had this instance happen to them? People who received interview letters, did everything you submit show "accepted"? I'm just curious whether they've reviewed everything or are still ongoing.

Unfortunately, I also received an RFE for a 2017 Tax Transcript. So guys, send tax transcripts instead of tax returns. I should've done more reading before submitting everything. I was confident an ITR would be fine since it was accepted a few years back when I petitioned my husband. Learn from my mistakes guys. 😃

    Hi All,

My Parents I-130 application was approved and NVC also accepted all the documents (AOS I 864, DS-260 and Civil documents). I have one question regarding scheduling interview.

After NVC accepted all the documents and DS260 (visa application), Will NVC notify us to schedule an interview at US Embassy or NVC will give us exact date and time for an interview at US Embassy directly? How NVC notify us regarding interview date or scheduling an interview?

    Thanks in advance.

I have not received an interview date yet for my in laws, but if the process has not changed from a few years ago when I petitioned my husband, NVC should be sending you an email with the exact date and time of the interview. Unless the process for India is different from the Philippines.

  4.

I'm still waiting for my NVC case #. So far no luck. I just called today and I was told that the case was received at NVC on 11/7 and it could take up to 8 weeks for a case #. It's just sad that it took them that long to receive it when I got the NOA2 10/19.

Anyone had any luck with theirs? I'm hoping that everything works out and my in laws will have their visa by April. If the timeline is about the same as when I petitioned my husband, it should be feasible. We are going to the Philippines in April and it'd be nice if they can travel back home with us. My husband is a little worried about them traveling on their own.

  5. Hi guys,

My husband filed an I-130 for both his parents. NOA1 04/11 and NOA2 10/19. It was processed in the Texas Service Center. To this day, when we check our case status in USCIS, it states that the petition is still under review. I'm urging everyone to not be like us and rely solely on your USCIS email notifications. Check your mail religiously especially if you're around the 6 month mark.  We did not check the mail until 10/29. 😅 Anyway, no harm done since we tried calling NVC and it seems a case number has not been assigned yet.

Also, I'm trying to look ahead and prepare the documents we'll need to send to NVC so I can have my in laws get what they need in the mean time while waiting for the NVC case number. So far, this is what I have:

    *BIRTH CERTIFICATE (APPLICANT)

    *BIRTH CERTIFICATE (PETITIONER)

    *MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE (APPLICANT)
NBI CLEARANCE (APPLICANT) **FYI. This is the Philippine's version of Police Clearance**

    *CERTIFICATE OF US CITIZENSHIP (PETITIONER)
    I-864 (PETITIONER)
    I-864A (PETITIONER'S SPOUSE)
    MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE (PETITIONER)

    US PASSPORT (PETITIONER'S SPOUSE)

    INCOME TAX RETURNS 2017,2016,2015

The ones marked with (*) are probably overkill since they should have these already from the I-130 application (right?). I'm thinking it may be better to send them again. What do you guys think? Did I miss anything?

    Best of luck to everyone!

  6. Counting the days. My husband is going for his medical this Tuesday. We're nervous and hoping it all goes well without a hitch.

His interview is on July 10th. Do you think it's okay for him to bring along our 3 year old US Citizen son? We don't have anyone to watch him because my mother in law won't be able to take off work anymore since she's already taking off 3 days to watch over him while my husband goes for his medical. His interview is at the embassy in Manile, Philippines if it matters.

  7. Our timelines are a week apart and I noticed you also relieved a checklist for your AOS just like me. So I am hoping next week will be my turn for a Case Complete. Congrats by the way!!!

Thank you =) I hope you get it next week too! sending good luck and positive vibes your way.
