I have talked to so many people in the process and there does not seem to be a reason for the difference in processing times. It probably comes down to field office. I know for a fact that the Boston Field office is moving quickly as several people on this site as well as others I know have gotten their citizenship within 4 months of applying (myself included). However, a coworker of mine who lives elsewhere in the state applied last November and has his oath ceremony next week. We have very similar backgrounds, work at the same place, etc etc. It does seem to take less than a year overall at the longest. So hold tight everyone, it's gonna be over soon.

Interview was scheduled...... interesting

Got my 10 yr green card in the mail yesterday (exactly 1 month after the letter stating my case was approved). Mailing out my N-400 today. Best of luck to everyone still waiting. This part of the process was truly a test of patience. See you all on the N-400 boards. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and made the process more bearable. I love this community!

you cannot....not unless you first pay back the many thousands of dollars that US taxpayers spent on your delivery....your son's status as a US citizen will play no role in you obtaining a new tourist visa....you already ignored what was told to you (stay for 2 weeks), the taxpayers shelled out a lot of money, and now you want to be rewarded...it won't happen. Trust is hard to get, but easy to lose and even harder to regain. And B2 visas are all about trust. When a person violates that trust, merely saying 'sorry' or coming up with some excuse as to why the visa holder refused to comply with our laws and regulations or instructions won't restore that trust.
