  1. Thanks ?? I will be on here hopping around with crazy excitement if I hear by Monday!

There's a few current Bostonian filers, we should arrange a summer get together to celebrate our green-ness ?

OMG.... We totally should!! I would love that! I don't have a ton of friends in Boston since I've only been living in the city for a year. So, that would be awesome.

  2. I'm from your neck of the woods too ?

Are you interviewing in Boston or Lawrence?

It does seem a fast office, either way. Hopefully I'll get my interview schedule soon.

Nice! I am interviewing in Boston. So I'll just hop on the train downtown. I think you will be scheduled soon.

I see you got changed to 'Testing and Interview' two days ago. I got my actual interview date 5 days later, and someone else in Boston got theirs 6 days after as well, so based on that limited sample size, I'd say you should get yours roughly in about a week after April 29th! Hopefully by Monday you'll hear! Keep us posted.

  3. Thanks everyone, we arrived outside the Mt Laurel NJ USCIS Office at 1:30pm & sat there for a little bit, then we made our way into the building at about 1:50pm our appointment was at 2:15pm. we sat down near the door & just gone 2pm the IO called out our name, then showed us to his office, then swore us in asked for our ID & if we had the 2013 tax return which we didn't have as we hadn't filed yet. He then asked for other paperwork, which we handed him. He was going to make copies, but I beat him to the punch and handed him the copies I had already made. He was very nicer and we had a nice chat about the army life as I was in the service and my wife was an army brat. And before we knew it he was ordering the card and telling us how to remove conditions in 2 yrs. We were back in the car by 2:30pm and would have left, but my wife left her car keys in the office so she had to go back and get them. All in all a quick and pleasant experience.

We still can't believe its done. We received an email at 2:45pm saying that the card is in production. :dancing::thumbs:

Awesome! Couldn't have gone any better! You have good karma :) Congratulations!

  4. EAD status just changed to Card/Document Production! Still no movement on the AP, but with an interview in 3 weeks, I am sure it doesn't really matter in the long run! I thought EAD and AP were a single combo card tho? Seems odd that only one would update?

Good luck!! At this point I'm assuming you probably don't care much to travel between now and then :) I'm a week after you and I can't wait. I'm literally counting down the days. My interview documents are all well organized in an accordion folder with my copies in a binder and photo album with a post-it on it that says May 20th. HAHA. Let me know hwo your interview goes when the day comes.

  5. It looks like you applied for AP, you should have that in plenty of time for your trip. You should have it in April or early May.

I just looked up travel requirements and as a Jamaican citizen I will need to go through the stressful visa process which includes having to pay for a visa as well as biometrics to enter Canada. I'm now thinking it might not be worth traveling to Canada before I get the green card. :(

  6. Hi all,

I would love to get some advice on this. We have our interview scheduled for May 20th and really want to travel to Canada Memorial Day weekend (24th - 28th) for our birthday trip. We live in Boston, so we would drive (5 hrs to Montreal). The problem is I am not a Canadian citizen, so I would have to apply for a canadian visa and hope to re-enter the country on AP (which i haven't received yet).

SO my question is, what is the likelihood of me getting a stamp (I-551) in my passport the day of the interview so i can travel? Is there a way to request this stamp if the interview goes well? I'm just afraid I won't be able to travel until I get the actual green card in the mail and then I can't take off work to go.

I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions.

    Still Waiting.................

    You're moving along nicely!!

Yay!! After almost a year being unemployed I am so ready to work again.

Congrats!! Now you can go make that money :)

  8. Yep nearly just waiting for one more payslip from my wife which I will get this week then we are all go for next week ☺

I just got my letter in the mail. They mailed it the same day my status updated to 'Testing and Interview'. But I didn't get the email of the date till this morning and the e-mail said they mailed the letter yesterday (Sunday)..... Weird. Oh well. I have the official letter with the time now!

Is there somewhere on the site that tells you what to bring to the interview? They have a pretty dry list on this actual letter, but I will take all they ask and more.

  9. How did you get notice about interview date? By mail?

I got a text and e-mail. My text didn't say the date, but the e-mail did. And as blk said, I am expecting a letter than will say the actual time. I'm assuming you signed up on the USCIS website for texts and e-mails? Otherwise, you won't know until you get the actual letter which I haven't gotten yet.

It also depends on the city you are in. Boston is apparently really quick about scheduling interview dates, so the wait time to be scheduled is typically about a week as I have seen from other timelines in Boston.

Hope you get your date soon!!

  10. Awesome!!! it took 6-7days for the Boston office to schedule a date for mine, hopefully, you'll get the date soon -ahem hurry up Boston and schedule it this wk- (in case you havent got it already)

You were right about the Boston Office! I got my interview date this morning (4 days after I got switched to testing and interview). I'm scheduled for May 20th, 6 days after you! Make sure to let me know how yours went and what they asked.

    Soooo excited :)

02/28/14 Received 3 Emails and 3 text msgs from USCIS
03/02/14 Received 3 NOA1 in the mailbox for AOS, EAD & AP
03/08/14 Received Biometrics Appointment for EAD & AP in the mailbox for April 1st!
04/01/14 Done biometrics for EAD and AP 9:00am and was advise to wait for a month and a half to receive a new notice.
My question is how low long normally it takes to receive a notice for the AOS (Testing and Interview)? My status online haven't change yet. Its still the same, last updated on Feb 28, 2014. I am worried that something went wrong, I have read a of you here have a fast moving application.. Please enlighten me! Thank you in advance!

It took mine 15 days to update, but it seems it takes most people anywhere from 5 days to 4 weeks, even longer. The average I've seen is about 2-3 weeks. For me this period was the toughest, because you have no idea what's going on. Good luck and it will work out soon enough. Keep yourself busy so you don't think about it. And if you do texting and e-mail it will just be a pleasant surprise when you are changed over.
