Thank you! I had such a stress filled day today (my cat died at the vet going under anesthesia but the vet was able to revive him), I haven't had time to look over anything. I know it all anyway, and my lawyer is coming and has copies of everything so I'm not stressed about that. I'm stressed overall though, and I just want it over! Hopefully we get a decision on the spot. Our lawyer told us they legally have 4 months to make their decision, so it technically could happen. We go in at 10:15, I'll come here and talk about it when we get home.
Positive vibes to everyone!
Data.aj - I'm okay (see post below). Yay for getting an interview date!!!
-
ladyliberty - whoah! Def a weird move to hire a lawyer based in Alaska, but I get why you did it based on your story. And yeah, given your case I'd want a lawyer there too. I'm with Chavez & Valko.

vxb110530 - I really hope you don't get any trouble or harsh treatment because you're asian! Maybe those are just fabricated stories from people who's cases were suspicious, so they had to be interviewed separately to prove true marriage. I wouldn't worry about it if you have nothing to hide
macruff - I'm totally jealous too haha! Hey, where are you from? I'm in here on a real computer (haven't been in ages) and noticed you don't have a flag showing

ladyliberty - My attorney is coming with us to the interview. I paid them to file for us, they've been with us throughout the entire process. I didn't know you could hire an attorney for just the interview part... it seems odd your "top dog lawyer" wouldn't attend the interview with you since it should be part of his fee to begin with.. weird.

Wow crazy good news! Lucky you, the rest of us had to wait forever

Originals of everything you sent with your initial application. My husband doesn't have a passport either, we used his birth certificate.
I hope it get to you in time! My apt is at 10:15 am

I met with my attorney on Monday to prepare for the interview, and she said to bring in all originals (of everything we submitted), and everything extra (that happened after we filed). Also, because we filed before tax time, we need to bring my husband's 2013 W2, tax filing, last paystub, and a new letter from his employer showing he's stilled employed and his current salary.

Welcome Ladyliberty! Well, it took 8 months from the time I filed to my interview, so if you will most likely get yours in may. Hopefully you don't though! I feel your pain, I thought it would take about 4 months as well..
Macruff - any news??
-
Awesome! *highfive*
Macruff, did you get one too?
-
I just got notified they sent me a letter for our interview on October 14! :D

No RFEs or change of address for me (I believe macruff did a change of address though). If I follow that timeline we should be getting a date real soon.. Well... Hopefully...

Spoke with her this morning, she wasn't able to put an inquiry as my case is apparently still within normal processing times. Which makes no sense. But she sent me proof from USCIS so obviously she's not lying... It just doesn't make sense that it's taking so long!

Woot Woot.....!!! Tomorrow makes it 4 months since I got my last update to Testing and Interview... So lucky to still be waiting!!
in 3 weeks Tratsing will be 5 months!!! Woot Woot.. we are so lucky to be in Texas!
Sigh, I blame the illegal aliens at the border for all this wait.

Tratsing, what's going on? How is work coming along for ya with the big firm?!!
Work is good pulling my hair out filling out tax forms though. Oh, I have a question - on the W-4 form, IRS website says to put single as marital status regardless of what it actually is if you're a nonresident alien. I'm obviously married, but followed the instructions. Did you do the same?
I spoke with my attorney yesterday and she's going to try to inquire on august 6th if we haven't received anything.
-
Good luck on your interview!!
Macruff, anything yet? My lawyer tried to put in an inquiry but got a response from USCIS that she couldn't because we are still within normal processing times. Ugh.
-
I don't want to say too much, but it's for one of the biggest companies in the US
I can't believe they moves you because of an address change!! Did she say when you might expect to get a date?
-
I spoke with my attorney today and she's putting an inquiry in. She said we should receive a letter indicating what the hold up is.
I'm assuming you didn't get one yet?
I have good news though, I start working tomorrow for my dream job!
-
I have a conditional job offer (waiting for the company to finish with the background check).
I spoke with my immigration attorney today and she says it's normal processing times (4 months since filing). If I don't have an interview date by the end of the month she'll put an inquiry on it.
Waiting is the theme to my life right now!

Nothing here either
-
Haha nothing! Any news on your end?
-
Are any of you getting those letters not in on a K1?

Congrats vxb!
Our interview went really good. My husband had a lot in common with the officer so we spent most of it chatting about gumbo and cooking haha. He didn't say we were approved on the spot, but he said he was going to put through everything today and confirmed my name and address since that's where everything will be sent. I'm just waiting for the USCIS website to update!
He didn't ask hard questions, just each other's birthdays, when I last entered the country, if my husband has met my family, when did we meet, propose, married, etc.
I had printed my I94, which turned out to be a good thing since customs didn't write my entry status on the stamp on my passport. I was so glad I did!
