  1. Hey, take a deep breath, calm down. You sent it to the right office. That was close to the deadline, whew! I hope you did file a fee waiver, if you were eligible to do so. You can follow the stats for applicants filing at the California Service Center here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=3&scenter=1&option=2&sortby=2

You had to send it to:

    USCIS California Service Center

    P.O. Box 10751

    Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-1075

So, if you sent it at that address, you sent it to the right place. Regarding how would you know they received it, use the tracking number provided by the mail carrier. Let's not worry for now about your job if they don't have it because it seems like they do have it. Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you! I sent it to that address, UPS next day air. Tracking it showed they signed for it yesterday morning so I know they have it. I filed jointly with my spouse, and listed our child though he is a USC (born in Texas last December), checked off that he isn't applying with me and in the space allowed for additional information I wrote that in there as well (that he doesn't require immigration services). I sent in a check for $590.

When we did my AOS we used an immigration attorney, but didn't this time because of funds.. and I figured it seemed easy enough to send what I have. This is so nerve racking though!

  2. My GC expires Oct 15, and because of financial problems I've only been able to send it to the California address yesterday. Now I'm worried I didn't send it to the right office (I live in Texas), and I'm worried it won't get extended in time. What happens to my job if I don't have it? How can I make sure I sent it to the right place and they've received it?

    Someone please calm me down..

  3. Congrats datta.aj! :)

I went to the SSA office today to remove the restriction on my card and it was the easiest thing. She said most people forget but it's imortant, and I need to go back once I become a citizen. I also went to the DMV to remove the restriction since I got my drivers license when I only had my EAD and hadn't gotten my social security card yet. It's now renewed and good for 7 years.

  4. My tip is that let the USC carry and handle all the evidences at the interview. That way you'll show the IO that your USC spouse actually cares about your approval more than you do.

Hmmm, I don't know. I did all the handling, only because I'm the organized one in my marriage

The IO didn't seem to care at all, but I get what you're saying - if you're handling everything it might seem like your spouse doesn't "care".. as in they don't care because you don't have a valid marriage.

Gosh, I wouldn't stress about that at all Macruff!
