    I don't think that it will. The President's immigration ban bars all people living in Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from entering the United States. So, since this forum is about people wanting to remove conditions on their Green Card, if you're already living in the U.S. and have your application in process, it won't affect you. That's what it sounds like to me anyway.

    I know it won't affect me personally, I just meant delays in our applications because of the backlog.

  2. Weird. I had send in my application with a fee waiver request. It was denied. I resend the application with the checks. They cashed them. Now, I'm checking online with my EAC number and it says that my fees were waived? What?! No it wasn't. And, they spelled my name wrong even though I had pointed it out when I send the application the second time. Now, I'm going to get my biometrics done today so I'll fix the name. But why would the website say my fees were waived, when it was denied. Anyone else experienced it?

    My status is also showing my fees were waived when they weren't. I called and they gave me the number for the billing department but all they could tell me was that they can't see my application at all unless I owed them money, which I don't, so they assumed it's a glitch. I'm not worried about it.

  4. I finally got my biometrics letter! I checked my status online and I'm confused.

    It says "On October 7, 2016, we received your case and waived the filing fee for your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number XXX. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice."

    I didn't request to waive the fees and my check was cashed??? Are they giving me my money back???

  5. Just got an email from USCIS!

    "On 11/07/2016, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I-751 Form to notify us that you have not yet received your biometrics appointment notice. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

    Your appointment is scheduled for 12/06/2016 at "-time"- at your local USCIS Application Support Center.

    We will place your I-751 on a processing hold until we obtain your biometrics (photograph/fingerprints).

    What You Can Do

    * Ensure that we have your current mailing address;

    * Verify that you are registered to receive mail at the address you provide to us;

    * Follow any instructions in the notice;

    * Respond to the notice by the response deadline; and

    * Submit any requested information and the original notice with your response.

    Reschedule an Appointment

    If you missed your biometric appointment or need to reschedule, please follow instructions on the biometric notice to reschedule your appointment. Please note that:

    * You must submit a request for rescheduling within 87 days of the date of your appointment;

    * You must include the original fingerprint appointment notice; and

    * We will not consider requests submitted after 87 days.

    We hope this information is helpful to you."

  6. I called USCIS and they've put in a request as to why I haven't received biometrics apt notice yet. Now I wait some more...

    Help!

    We sent in our I-751 and I received a receipt. When I go to the website to check status I get an error that it does not recognize our receipt #. The error I get is: If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

    The phone # to call is a nightmare of animated messages and no way to talk to a human. Does anyone have any suggestions or other contact #'s I could possibly call to talk to someone?

    Thanks so much,

    Dayle

    You need to wait for the receipt number on your biometrics apt letter. The one on the I-797 doesn't work for their electronic system. When I called this morning I asked if they have a number I could use for now, but she said no, I need to wait for the biometrics letter.

    I called 1-800-375-5283, chose option 2 that I have question regarding an existing case, then I chose that I don't know my receipt number - the WAC number on the I-797 won't work so don't bother using it. I only waited about 2 minutes before I got an operator.

  7. I finally sent in my I-751 along with a ton of papers and some photos on Tues., Oct. 11th. They received it Friday, the 14th. I checked my bank account and noticed that my check was cashed today. They certainly don't waste much time cashing it! When people get their NOA1, does it usually say that the Green Card has been extended for 1 year while they process the application?

    Great news! Yes, the first sentence of the NOA states "your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year".

    Tratsing - NOA receipt date: 10/07/2016

  9. My computer had a ton of updates to do so I never got on here to say Friday I received my NOA! :)

    Hello everyone!

    After 2 years inactive, back to VisaJourney to start my Journey with my I-751 application. Good to see some folks from when I was applying for my spouse visa! :goofy:

    My husband and I are gathering documents...probably sending everything next week.

    questions..

    1- do we have to send a copy of the letter I received to remove my conditions?

    2- is it 1 check with the total amount of the form+biometrics?

    3- should I send some pictures?

    4- we don't have any children. Do I have to check every box in that section N/A or can I just leave it blank?

    Thank you!

    1. I sent a copy of the letter just in case

    2. Sent in one check for $590

    3. Sent quite a few pictures.. 60 I think.

    4. I have a child so I wrote him in the first block but left the others blank - so I don't know the answer. I would just leave it blank if I were you.

  10. bkghosh: Thank you! Since my check was cashed yesterday I'm hoping for my NOA this week. Crossing my fingers I get it as soon as tomorrow ;)

    Snow Crash: oh man, I don't blame your nerves for being shot. Sending you lots of positive vibes! My husband and I don't share a bank account and all bills are under his name only - it's just what works for us. Hopefully it won't be seen as a negative. Lots of couples don't have everything joint!

    HunnyBunny: welcome!

    lidaliu: great news! :D

  11. I have no idea if I did this right, but:

    1. that's the same form I used (off USCIS website).

    2. my USC spouse has a child from a previous marriage, and we have a child together. I only included my child on the form. It was my understanding that I should list my children only (I have none from my previous marriage).

    3. I left that blank. No idea if that's a problem.

    4. I would use your wife's new last name.

    5. I would put N/A in the middle name box.
