  1. Wait 2 weeks, and then call them. Wait on the line, they give you a few options and then the Spanish options, and then some more options after that. You need to choose from the second lot of options. Then just ask for your case number and they'll give it to you.

yeah, that was all I did, I waited two weeks, then started calling..

some days you get booted out of the queue due to excessive call volume, just keep trying

you will punch some buttons, bet transferred, and finally speak to a human, and get your case number.

my NOA2 was the march 3, I was notified on the 9th that it was then being sent to NVC,

our case # was created on march 17

it was in sydney last week and we had our interview date assigned on the 27th.

oh, and this link may be useful on the police check

my fiance had to go in 3 times before they got it right.

  2. anyone else having issues with the changes to the USCIS site?

I click on "my case" and it doesn't provide me any information, I get a a box that says "-My-" that I can X out, and when I do, it says "your case status:" and nothing else.

I have tried 2 different browsers and no luck

  3. when I try to view or edit my timeline, it gives me this error

Timelines Error: The database indicates you have two timelines!

You seem to have more than one timeline in the database.
Please contact an Admin by clicking here to have one of these timelines deleted.
When this is done you will be able to access your timeline again.

the "clicking here" is this link http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?&act=Msg&CODE=04&MID=11749

but all that does it take me to the main forum page.

  4. as an ordained minister, it all depends on the laws where the marriage is happening, and they require for an out of state officiant.

I did a wedding in NY, I didn't have to provide anything, I did one in Massachusetts and I had to fill out a form and register with the town office a month in advance.

this link explains illinois laws and what is needed for your friend.

  5. Nothing gets sent to the NVC for a K-1, so no need to worry about that one.

Some consualtes send out packets with instructions and forms to send back to them or bring with you to the K-1 visa interview. The consulate can ask to see an original of any document you provided a copy of, but does not mean they will absolutely ask to see the original. You do not have to give them your original. They can keep a copy for their file.

but I'm in the US... she is in Australia, what am I supposed to do? send her all my originals/certified copies "just in case" ?
