This is insane. For everyone's sake, I wish they had transferred the cases to a more stable country. Not only is Egypt unstable, but now they require Yemenis to obtain a visa before going. So crazy.
-
Just because a person is Muslim or from a Muslim country does not mean that they will automatically have AP, many times this is not the case. And if they do get AP it doesn't always mean the AP will be long. I have seen you all over this site in the recent past telling people that just because they are Muslim they will have AP, please stop because it just isn't true.
Right! Thank you.
Pray and cross fingers that you dont get a long ap.
Muslin country usualky go to a long ap, no evrybody but more of aplicant get long ap
Dominican Republic is not a Muslim country, so why have you been stuck in AP for so long?

This is really sad to hear that she said that.
The good news is that you're in California so your petition will get processed there. I just got approved recently in only 15 days, so you just might make your summer deadline. But if she's ready to call it quits if it doesn't happen that fast, you might want to think about what could potentially happen in the future when you guys hit some bumps in your relationship.
My fiance and I have have had some pretty big hiccups with timezone differences. Currently he's in Yemen, which is a crazy place, so sometimes he doesn't have internet, other times no power (he's only been there recently because he was waiting for a visa to get issued) but before that he was in UAE for 3 months visiting his family, which the time difference isn't THAT bad. And before that it was Malaysia because he's studying there, and the time difference there is 13-14 hours. Right now he will wake up at 4 or 5am just to talk to me before I have to go to sleep. It's the little sacrifices that make us truly love our significant others, and as crazy and frustrating, and truly testing this process is, I would never, ever give it up to be with someone else. Ever.
That being said, I wish you luck on your journey.

Status online didn't work for me either. The minute I got the NOA2 text/email, the status changed online to approved and it started working.

Congrats, you guys! Exciting news.

Hello AverysMom,
I'm referring to when the consulate sends the packet to the beneficiary. But, if nothing is sent to the beneficiary's address, then how will she know to schedule the appointment? Are you sure that I don't have to change her address?
Regards,
E.
I am actually wondering the same thing. How would I change the beneficiary's address (especially if it's a country address change). Is there a way to do this before it leaves NVC?
-
I'm wondering if they're going to transfer Yemen cases elsewhere since Egypt now changed visa restrictions on Yemeni citizens.
-
I called NVC and they told me to call the immigrant visa line (not non-immigrant). Basically, they said all cases go to NVC before they get to the embassy, and told me to call in maybe a week or two and I'll get the information I'm looking for.
Thanks, guys!

I got my approval letter in the mail today and it states: "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate." There is no consulate listed ANYWHERE on this form, so I called USCIS and asked about this. They told me it's going to get sent straight to the consulate that I listed (I listed Malaysia, but put his current address as Yemen, so uh... which one?). I asked the agent if it's going to go to the NVC and he said I-129 petitions don't.
I'm really confused now. Who are we supposed to contact? Is our petition floating in thin air?

Since a lot of people hate that they're stuck at TSC (I do feel for you), let me make you feel a little bit better about your position. Even though I was approved in 15 days, and I'm grateful for that, we have a long, long, long road ahead of us, and we're not even sure when it will end. My fiance's currently in a war-torn country, with absolutely no way out. He's only lived there this past year. He wasn't even born and raised there, but since he's technically a Yemeni, he needed to go there and wait until his student visa for Malaysia gets approved. It was approved almost a month ago, but they didn't want to issue it until April. I don't know if many of you watch the news, but last week war broke out and there's absolutely no way out of the country. Because he's stuck there, he can't go to Malaysia, even though Malaysia now agreed that he no longer needs a stamp from the Malaysian Embassy (thanks, Malaysia, a little late), and since he won't be in Malaysia when his application gets to the NVC, his case will get sent to Cairo, which apparently is not scheduling any interviews at the moment. They still have a HUGE pile (all cases) that was transferred from Yemen recently that they still haven't even touched, so his will be at the very bottom of that pile.
At this point, there's truly no telling when he will get out of Yemen, and we're praying that when he gets to Malaysia, it will be easy enough to route his case there. At this point though, it's very uncertain. He has had the worst luck lately, and I pray that it ends soon.
I would so gladly take TSC over this. I originally thought I'd be waiting 6 months until I came on this site after I filed and I was shocked when I found out it got routed to California, where it takes a month or less. I was very willing and perfectly fine with waiting 6 months, and a huge part of me wishes I had waited until he was IN Malaysia to start this, but I thought, "why not start now, it will take 6+ months to get approved anyway!" Boy, was I wrong.
I don't know if that makes anyone feel better about their current situation, but just remember, someone somewhere has it worse. I'm still trying to stay positive though.

In those lines, I only wrote "We last met in Malaysia in November 2014". Got our NOA2, no problem.
We have known each other for years, lived in the same city for 12+ years when we were growing up, got engaged 2 years ago, traveled to so many different countries together in the past year alone, but I figured it would have been excessive, so I chose to only put our last meeting place, and when.

Alright, I think I need some advice. When I filed the I-129F petition, I put that my fiance's location is Yemen, but we want it sent to the consulate in Malaysia because by now he was supposed to be back in Malaysia as a student. He has been approved for the visa and he was just waiting for his approval letter to arrive before he can go back to Malaysia. Well, then a war broke out and all airports shut down and now we're stuck. We just got the NOA2 on Wednesday (1st of April), so I'm guessing it won't be at the NVC for at least a week or two? He does have plans to travel to Malaysia (he is trying really hard to find a way, even by sea, etc), so my question is, if his case gets sent to the embassy in Cairo, is is possible after he gets to Malaysia, to get it transferred to Malaysia? What do you guys advice?

I know everyone is different and some people get RFE for this reason and others don't; however, I sent in a copy of my fiancee's letter of intent. He signed, faxed, and emailed it to me, then I just printed it off in b&w. After I mailed the packet, I was freaking out because I wasn't sure whether it needed to be the original copy and I thought I'd get an RFE. I actually just got my NOA2 yesterday after 15 days of my NOA1 and no RFE. I guess whoever was looking at my file decided what I sent in was sufficient. If I could do it all over again, I'd make him mail the original, just to be on the safe side. I'm planning to mail him a copy of my letter of intent with an original signature for the interview just for him to be on the safe side.

Haha, I am the petitioner. I actually sent in everything, including the I-134 form, 2014 taxes, pay stubs, letter from employment, etc. So I guess we'll see.

Its 5am here and I just woke up to the email saying NOA2! :-D Wow! May you ALL from TSC get through soon now! You deserve it too!! Have an AWESOME day everyonen
I got woken up at 10pm, which was 16 minutes ago. I guess they went out at the same time. How awesome!
And thanks guys. Here starts the rest of the journey (and I have no idea where to go from here).

Just got the text and email tonight. NOA2!
-
Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know that existed. Thanks for the information!

I think CSC has slowed down. No March filer has reported getting their NOA2, that I know of.

My birth certificate looks exactly like yours. What I did was choose the "other" option and attached my birth certificate as an explanation.

My fiance's student visa got approved for Malaysia and then this happens. Allah Yistor.

I have a complicated circumstance and I'm hoping someone could advise me.
I have applied for the I-129F earlier this month and my fiance is from Yemen. We put down that we want it transferred to Malaysia because he was in the process of getting his student visa issued from Malaysia. His approval letter is ready at the Malaysian immigration, but right now there's a war that broke out in Yemen and the airports are closed and all the embassies closed and the officials in the country have basically left. We're wondering now if the airports reopen, would it be possible to fly to another country and get the letter stamped from another Malaysian embassy because of the situation in Yemen? I also read somewhere that if he does not get a single entry visa (which is this stamp) he will probably need to pay a fine when he gets to Malaysia. He is willing to pay a fine because he truly has no other choice at this point.
Any advise? I would greatly appreciate it.

Is there any news on when the airports in Yemen will open up again?
-
Any March filers get their NOA2?

Thanks, Camila. Phew! I was getting worried.
Amhara, I don't think so.
