  1. Nvc still working on August they haven't even start with Sept yet the only reason this cases are being close with Iv scan mid Sept is because the AOS have a scan date of August and they are reviewing cases together.. :( My checklist scan date 10/3

If that's the case my AOS scan date is June 20 and IV scan date August 27 but i havent received a cc yet...:(:(

Aug 27 here and waiting...56th day. Been at NVC since April/May

Same here at NVC since April/May and last scan date 27 Aug....

  2. Confirmed, called NVC. Rosa answered after 45 minutes.

CASE COMPLETE AS OF TODAY, SEPTEMBER 30!!!

The reception was poor, but thankfully she didn't hang up. She confirmed case complete, but that interview hasn't been scheduled yet.

All glory and praises to the Lord that NVC was smooth without any checklist. Big thank you to Saylin, this forum members who were helpful in sharing their experiences so I could avoid a checklist and got to give one to the lawyer for partly filling up the I -864 right. After 20 months since this process began, done with NVC. NVC stage took 3 months because we had a lawyer. NVC received both packages on August 7. Best of luck to those waiting for case completes. This will be my last NVC thread.

    Thanks!!

    Congratulations! :)

  3. I called the NVC they said they cannot change it or alter the ds-260,they said to send the statement explaining it to the NVC and give the statement at the embassy to explaining it....

So should i send it to the NVC and to the embassy once my case is dispatched from the NVC or should i only send to the embassy and present it at the day of the interview as there is the risk of delaying the case if i send it to nvc...

Ok i called the nvc again and this time i got good rep he suggested that i dont mail in the signed statement as it could cause a delay and i should take it to the consulate on the interview day and present it....

Now i hope everything goes smoothly at the interview...

Thank you everyone for your responses!

  4. We all make mistakes, so don't worry about it... as long as you proactively do the right thing. As for the interview day, usually you will be called to an initial window manned by a local at the embassy to collect any additional papers and organize them for the CO. That's the one where you want to present your statement, so the CO will see it before he/she interviews you. I guess you could send the statement to NVC, but there is the risk of delaying your case until they review it. Furthermore, I don't believe NVC can legally or physically alter your DS-260 form once you submit it.

  5. If you've been denied a US visa in the past, you need to indicate that on the DS-260 by answering "yes" to that question. It's cut and dry; they're not concerned with reasoning behind the decision at that point. Checklists don't seem to be issued for the DS-260, but you absolutely need to be honest about this at the interview and bring any related documentation you may have. The consular officer will know you applied for a visa and didn't get it, so be prepared.

    Thanks BOS_LHR for the response!

I didnt intend to be dishonest or hide anything it was a stupid mistake,i hope i can rectify it without having to bear any consequences....

What all documentation should i take about my previous application?

  6. If you wait till they ask then you're doomed. One of the first things you need to do at the Consulate is present a signed statement before the formal interview begins explaining the mistake and admitting the visa denial and explaining the circumstances. I would even send an advanced email copy to the embassy once they receive my case.

If the CO decides you were hiding it on purpose, you'll not only get denied... you might actually receive a ban from re-applying for a number of years.

    Thanks MoBar65 for the response!!

I should send the embassy where i am having the interview an email explaining the mistake when NVC dispatches my case to be send?

Who should i give the signed statement before the formal interview?

I know it was a stupid mistake, though i didnt intend to hide anything or be dishonest,i hope we dont get stuck because of the mistake as it was a long journey of one year...

Meanwhile i call the nvc and see if they can correct it...

  7. Hey hi all

I have a question about ds-260 hope somebody can help.... There is a question on ds-260 "Have you ever been refused a U.S visa, been refused admission to united states or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry?" I had applied for a visit visa two years back but didnt get it...On the ds-260 i clicked "no" for this question and submitted it since i thought from a different perspective my husband was telling, but now i am thinking if i did the right thing and freaking out....

Will this be a problem?Does NVC send checklists for ds-260? Or do you think this would be a problem at the interview? Could i explain it to them at the interview about the question if they ask?I dont intend to be dishonest in anyway......

I hope somebody can help me with this scenario who had a similar situation....or maybe saylin can help....

    Thank you!!
