  1. Oh okay thanks. My attorney just emailed me back and said “stay away from forums” lol
  2. Was I not supposed to apply for US citizenship since I passed the 3 year mark? Since I already applied, is it going to be denied? I’m using the same lawyer that I did when I applied for a green card. My lawyer hasn’t said anything. I’m emailing him right now. I’m now getting worried. I had no intention to apply for US citizenship as I was completely happy with my green card and my own country passport is way stronger than the US passport and I don’t travel lol. Only reason I applied for US citizenship was due to losing my green card. Green card replacement application was taking too long, 2 plus years. The I kept hearing people saying the US citizenship applications taking only 4-6 months, so I applied. Now I got a notification saying my green card is produced. If my n400 gets denied I feel so sad for wasting money. Please people enlighten me. Super worried
  3. What’s a 3 or 5 year rule? And what timeline. Sorry I’m super oblivious to this whole thing
  4. I’m very confused. Not sure what 3 year you’re referring to. I’ve been a permanent resident since 2015. Nearly 9 years
  5. Considering two different offices handling my applications I doubt that’s the case but who knows. I also reached out to my congresswoman’s office on February 14, 2024 and they responded to me the next day. The congresswoman’s office quickly sent their request regarding my i-90. So really, I have no idea if that helped either. I informed them and thanked them for their help. The congresswoman’s office didn’t sound like their request had anything to do with it since they didn’t get a response from the USCIS. They said they’ll email me when they get a response from USCIS for my record.
  6. On February 20, 2024 I received a notification saying my card is being produced. I waited 27 whole months. I applied because my two year old toddler threw away my documents. Now I have another kid who is 13 months old. Out of desperation I applied for US citizenship because people keep saying it’s 4-6 months to get approved. I had no intention to apply for US citizenship before because I really didn’t feel like I needed to. No difference to me honestly. On February 23, 2024 I got another notification saying my citizenship interview is scheduled. Crazy turn of events.
  7. Indianapolis, Indiana. Thank you. My lawyer gave me a bunch of questions to study. My mom brain is all over lol
  8. Hi Everyone just an update on my application. I received an interview notice on Friday. The interview date is April 4th. Applied January 20, 2024
  9. I will not get into full details for now. I will, however, post everything once I have the outcome just for the educational purposes in case someone in my situation down the road searching for answers online. Please bear with me. I promise I will post everything, every detail.
  10. Hello Everyone! I filed Jan 20, 2024 thinking my case was straightforward. But it was not until after I filed. I’m not going to get into more details for now but my case will probably be DENIED. I regret even filing. I’m a green holder of 9 years. My fingerprints were reused and the wait time reduced from 7 month to 4 month est. time. I will keep you all updated.
  11. Is it possible to talk to a real person at the 800 number? I called and the robot directed me back to the USCIS website. But yeah, I’ll call tomorrow. (Ugh! We saw him on the home camera footage stealing my cards from the office desk drawer and casually putting my cards in to the trash can next to it. My husband took that trash out the next day🤦🏻‍♀️)
  12. Yes! I definitely overthinking it! But how do I prove that I didn’t go anywhere?
  13. Thank you Timona! Can you please tell me how do I start? I’m so lost. How do I prove my continuous residency if I didn’t travel outside the US in the past 5 years? My passport is expired in 2013 and haven’t renewed since. Thank you so much! Any information is valuable! 🌺
  14. I’m a green card holder and thinking about applying for a U.S. citizenship. (Not filing as a U.S. citizen’s spouse) However, I didn’t work for the last 5 years (2018-2022). I filed taxes every year with IRS but I got zero returns or owe zero to IRS. I filed jointly with my husband past one out of 5 years period. What I’m trying to say is that I feel like I don’t have good evidence to prove that I stayed in the U.S. the whole time. I gave birth in 2019 but my husband took care of the bills and my name was not on any bills or mortgage papers. Do I need to consult with an attorney?
  15. Yes, I understand that I’m not the only one is waiting. I used to work with an immigration attorney and she expedited all my filings before. I guess I will have to get a lawyer. I was hoping to DIY this time.
  16. I’m very confused. What’s a DL? Why do I need to file I-551? I already filed for I-90. Is it not enough? My green card has no expiration date. I just need a new replacement card and the I-90 needs to be expedited. Just wanted to know how to request expedite it. Thanks so much!
  17. Thank you for your response!!! May I ask what is a I-90 extension letter? Are we talking about a receipt? Can I request for a new driver’s license with that receipt? Thanks so much!
  18. I’m a green card holder and currently 5 months pregnant. My 2 year old toddler threw away all my cards including green card, driver’s license, social security card, and credit/debit cards. I filed for I90- Green Card Replacement in November 2021. I’m still waiting. My driver’s license expires in Feb 4, 2023 and I’m supposed to give birth on Feb 4, 2023 as well. I need a driver’s license to drive my baby to appointments or give birth at the hospital. The processing time says 16 months. It will mean I won’t receive my green card before the baby due date. How do I expedite this process? What application should I send?
